  1. >A new looking fan catches your eye next, situated next to a row of mini-bobbleheads
  2. >You dust everything for prints, collecting what you can before strapping on some gloves and holding the fan up to turn it around a bit.
  3. >Nothing seems too important about it, nor the bobbleheads, but the desk beneath it had drawers that you decided to look through next.
  4. >Files about past incidents involving the restaurant franchise, some profiles about the people hired, and pictures of various things from areas in the old restaurants, to pictures of the animatronics, old and new.
  5. >Reading through some of the profiles, you pass through names of former security and management but stop at one file that seems off.
  6. >Aside from the mess of coffee stains on the file, you notice the name has been smudged out and that the location of employment was also erased.
  7. >You take a quick note of it while flipping through some of the pictures now.
  8. >A lot of the animatronics didn't look too awful in the daytime as depicted by the pictures.
  9. >They looked clean, and almost friendly, playing with some of the kids.
  10. >Something strikes you as off though.
  11. >Your former mentor had always taught you to keep an eye on things in the background; to keep an eye for detail instead of keeping your eye on the focus of the picture.
  12. >A man, clad in traditional security uniform always stood in some area of the pictures, keeping an eye on the animatronics at all times.
  13. >He didn't look like like day-shift, and his uniform clearly represented a guard.
  14. >So why was he outside of his post, or even returning to the restaurants during his off hours?
  15. >This puzzled you plenty, and you decided to take a note of that as well.
  16.
  17. -----------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. >The trashcan was next, bits of rolled up paper balls lying at the bottom.
  20. >You reach in and unravel one at a time.
  21. >Some were crude drawings of the animatronics, others were notes of how bored the guard was sitting there
  22. >Then the notes got strange.
  23. >You squinted your eyes to read the barely legible document for yourself.
  24.
  25. "Could've swore I saw it move. I know it did. I made sure I knew it didn't, but no one believes me! I marked the wall behind it just precisely and yet there it is, an inch off point!
  26.
  27. NO ONE TOUCHED IT."
  28.
  29. >You assumed the 'it' referred to the wretched looking bunnybot that came at you earlier, but at the same time, even -THAT- didn't make much sense.
  30. >It was the main attraction of the place.
  31. >Wouldn't the guard know that the thing was supposed to move to scare the children? You assumed the endoskeleton inside would have made that fairly obvious.
  32. >So what was he talking about?
  33.
  34. >You look up from the note and out the window to see the bot staring at you, mere inches from the glass
  35. >It didn't move and that only seemed to make it seem more intimidating.
  36. >You held your nerve and stared on back at it.
  37. >It wasn't harming you, but it was certainly fucking with you.
  38. >The way it stood gave off that sort of vibe.
  39.
  40. "JONES."
  41. >you called out.
  42.
  43. >No answer still.
  44. >Damned rookie.
  45.
  46. -----------------------------------
  47.
  48. >Well now you have to decide.
  49. >Go out in the middle of the field with that.. thing..
  50. ...
  51. >Fuck.
  52.
  53. >Stepping out, with the only momentary lack of line of sight, you emerge from the office space to see the disheveled bunny staring right at you.
  54. >It's no surprise at this point, but it's really unnerving that it seemed to track your every movement and then predict it further.
  55. >It's head doesn't move, but it's eyes do, tracking your movements.
  56. >You ignore it and continue to the walls lined with suits.
  57. >The empty spot however yields no indication of a mark.
  58.
  59. >you systematically check behind each and everyone and finally find what you were looking ofr.
  60. >A straight scratch, carved into the back of the wall behind..
  61. >A yellowed and rotten bear costume.
  62. >Things are starting to come together, but not quite yet.
  63.
  64. >That's when you feel a heavy hand on your shoulder
  65. "J-Jones..?"
  66. >No. Such. Luck.
