  13. [23:07] <Moonside> Maybe you should register this channel, flib.
  14. [23:07] * Deathfish64 ([email protected]) has joined #ADVENTURE
  15. [23:07] <flibbyjibbits> maybe i should
  16. [23:08] * Skeleton ([email protected]) has joined #ADVENTURE
  17. [23:09] <flibbyjibbits> have to be an op to register it so ill do that later i guess
  18. [23:10] <Moonside> Now... Eltro said that he'd be away, and bgh and Jim aren't here,
  19. [23:10] <Moonside> so...
  20. [23:11] <flibbyjibbits> the next part would be the big game featuring pikkupstix tombs charleotte and [npc gnome :gil]
  21. [23:12] <flibbyjibbits> can i get the elf wizzar charcter sheet
  22. [23:13] <Skeleton> http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=376911 Yar
  23. [23:13] <Moonside> http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=376911
  24. [23:13] <Skeleton> Unless I'm missing something still
  25. [23:13] <Moonside> By the way, it's Charlotte.
  26. [23:13] <flibbyjibbits> ok sorry
  27. [23:13] <Deathfish64> Night Lady the Dark Librarian
  28. [23:13] <Moonside> Weapon, armor, items and skill ranks still.
  29. [23:14] <flibbyjibbits> alright then lets sort that out
  30. [23:14] <Skeleton> What do I put in for skill ranks
  31. [23:14] <Skeleton> Do I roll for 'em or what
  32. [23:14] <flibbyjibbits> you get what, 6 points?
  33. [23:14] <Deathfish64> no
  34. [23:14] <Deathfish64> Yeah 6 points
  35. [23:14] <Skeleton> I thought you meant I got six skills
  36. [23:14] <flibbyjibbits> ok the lines that DONT have the checkmark are class skills
  37. [23:14] <Moonside> Wizards have 2 ranks, plus 4 from 18 INT.
  38. [23:14] <flibbyjibbits> the rank column is where you put your points
  39. [23:14] <Skeleton> 6 for all?
  40. [23:15] <flibbyjibbits> 6 total
  41. [23:15] <Skeleton> Oh I see
  42. [23:15] <flibbyjibbits> and at level 1 you can have 1 in each so basically yes 6 skills
  43. [23:15] <Moonside> Yeah. The ranks in any skill can't be higher than your current level.
  44. [23:15] <Skeleton> Got it
  45. [23:15] <Deathfish64> Skill rank must be less than or equal to your character level
  46. [23:15] <flibbyjibbits> class skills you get a bonus in, checked skills you can still take but you dont get the bonus
  47. [23:16] * CommodoreJim ([email protected]) has joined #ADVENTURE
  48. [23:16] <Moonside> Oh hey.
  49. [23:16] <CommodoreJim> Lemme grab a plate of meatloaf
  50. [23:16] <flibbyjibbits> spell craft, and concentration are the BIG SUPER IMPORTANT skills for a wizard
  51. [23:16] <Moonside> Concentration's in PF?
  52. [23:17] <flibbyjibbits> oh maybe it isnt
  53. [23:17] <flibbyjibbits> concentration is not in pathfinder nevmind
  54. [23:17] <flibbyjibbits> then i guess just spellcraft is the only mandatory one
  55. [23:18] <Skeleton> all right, and, I guessed that I'd get weapon, armor and items after the game actually started
  56. [23:18] <flibbyjibbits> appraisal would be useful but not required
  57. [23:18] <Moonside> Knowledge (Arcana) might be good.
  58. [23:18] <flibbyjibbits> http://www.d20pfsrd.com/skills/knowledge all knowledge skills are useful
  59. [23:19] <Moonside> For the stuff, you roll for starting money, than spend that as you want on your starting items.
  60. [23:19] <Moonside> Let's see, Wizards start with 2d6 x 10 gp.
  61. [23:19] <Deathfish64> I probably should have taken more knowledge skills
  62. [23:20] <Deathfish64> But oh well
  63. [23:20] <Skeleton> We got the die trigger in here
  64. [23:20] <Skeleton> ?
  65. [23:20] <flibbyjibbits> lets do the equipment after the skills are squared away
  66. [23:20] <Deathfish64> Knowledge(Planes) will have to dod
  67. [23:20] <Deathfish64> do*
  68. [23:20] <flibbyjibbits> die trigger?
  69. [23:20] <Skeleton> Or script
  70. [23:20] <Deathfish64> seems like something a summoner would use
  71. [23:20] <Moonside> Unfortunately no.
  72. [23:20] <flibbyjibbits> id just done the dice rolls myself
  73. [23:20] <Moonside> Flib's die that insists on rolling either really high or really low will have to do.
  74. [23:21] <Deathfish64> 4 bluff and then 1 sense motive
  75. [23:21] <flibbyjibbits> what have you got for skill points so far?
  76. [23:22] <flibbyjibbits> ok its updated on the sheet
  77. [23:23] <Deathfish64> the srd has a dice roller application that we could use if we have to
  78. [23:23] <Skeleton> Err... Spellcraft, Spot, Knowledge 1, Appraise, Use Magic Device, Search
  79. [23:23] <flibbyjibbits> now the ones without a check put +3 in the misc column
  80. [23:23] <flibbyjibbits> ok also
  81. [23:24] <Moonside> But Spot and Search aren't in PF either.
  82. [23:24] <flibbyjibbits> since youre using the wrong sheet; spot and search are just one skill in pf, so take the points out of one of them
  83. [23:24] <Skeleton> All right, got any suggestions
  84. [23:24] <flibbyjibbits> another knowledge skill maybe
  85. [23:25] <Deathfish64> NEED MORE KNOWLEDGE
  86. [23:25] <flibbyjibbits> i assume the first one was arcana (since thats just useful all around)
  87. [23:25] <Skeleton> I should change the numbers of the knowledges to, like, the categories
  88. [23:25] <flibbyjibbits> yes
  89. [23:26] <flibbyjibbits> Dungeoneering Engineering Geography History Local Nature Nobility Planes Religion are the other types
  90. [23:27] <Moonside> You know, since there's such a thing as multi-user sheets in Mythweaves, I could copypaste the information to a correct sheet for you and then... yeah.
  91. [23:27] <Skeleton> (blame Jim!!!)
  92. [23:27] <Skeleton> (sorry)
  93. [23:27] <Moonside> Alfo, you forgot the gender too.
  94. [23:27] <Moonside> Also*
  95. [23:27] <flibbyjibbits> its not a big deal the only differences are the cmb armor and perception skill
  96. [23:28] <Skeleton> What really
  97. [23:28] <Skeleton> I put that in once but I guess I forgot to save it
  98. [23:30] <flibbyjibbits> ok now next question
  99. [23:31] <flibbyjibbits> do you want a familiar or bonded object
  100. [23:31] <Deathfish64> I thought that happened at a later level
  101. [23:31] <Skeleton> Ooh I remember having a frog the first time I played that gave me an HP boost (somehow?)
  102. [23:32] <Moonside> What's your username on Mythweavers, Skeleton?
  103. [23:32] <flibbyjibbits> familiars all give a bonus, toads ive +3 hp
  104. [23:32] <Skeleton> Yes, Skeleton is it
  105. [23:32] <Skeleton> I'll take a frog again, then
  106. [23:32] <Skeleton> Er *toad
  107. [23:32] <flibbyjibbits> http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/wizard/familiar
  108. [23:32] <Moonside> Ok, check your sheets page to see if it worked.
  109. [23:32] <Deathfish64> I wish eidolons gave bonuses... though I guess the reason they don't is that eidolons are actually good for combat, unlike familiars
  110. [23:33] <Skeleton> Yes it did
  111. [23:33] <Skeleton> Thanks... and sorry for being so lame
  112. [23:33] <flibbyjibbits> eidolons are already super strong and you can borrow their stats anyways
  113. [23:33] <Deathfish64> Oh, and just a quick question. About how many combat rounds are there in one minute?
  114. [23:34] <flibbyjibbits> a round is 6 seconds
  115. [23:34] <Deathfish64> okay, cool
  116. [23:34] <flibbyjibbits> so 10 rounds in a minute'
  117. [23:34] <Deathfish64> Because current my summoned monsters only stay out for one minute, so I was wondering how long that meant in combat
  118. [23:35] <Skeleton> Ah except my spells aren't here, I'll add those back in
  119. [23:36] <Skeleton> I have Detect Poison
  120. [23:36] <Moonside> Oh yeah, I forgot those.
  121. [23:36] <Skeleton> Mad Gear cannot hide from us
  122. [23:37] <Moonside> Also, you can select "Edit Users" in the sheets page and remove my name.
  123. [23:39] <flibbyjibbits> man looking at this familiar list what kind of asshole has an octopus familiar
  124. [23:40] <Moonside> A tentacle rapist?
  125. [23:40] <Deathfish64> I would
  126. [23:41] <Moonside> Df confirmed as being a tentacle rapist
  127. [23:41] <flibbyjibbits> or one of these http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/undead/beheaded/severed-head
  128. [23:41] <Deathfish64> king crab familiars too, lol
  129. * Retrieving #ADVENTURE modes...
  130. [23:41] <Moonside> King crabs are cool.
  131. [23:41] <Deathfish64> and Moons, don't tempt me to put all evolution points into tentacles, because believe me I will
  132. [23:42] <flibbyjibbits> spoilers theres a story "bossfight" with tidehunters skillset
  133. [23:42] <flibbyjibbits> especially the ult
  134. [23:42] <flibbyjibbits> ok so anyways
  135. [23:42] <flibbyjibbits> next step i think is equipment>
  136. [23:43] <Deathfish64> I COULD EAT A PLANKTON
  137. [23:43] <flibbyjibbits> ya got 90 gold to start with
  138. [23:43] <Deathfish64> I COULD EAT A DIATOM
  139. [23:43] <Skeleton> Awesome
  140. [23:43] <flibbyjibbits> and since wizards dont know shit about weapons and cant wear armor theres a lot to do with it
  141. [23:44] <Deathfish64> Buy something fancy
  142. [23:44] <Deathfish64> or like 20 crowbars
  143. [23:44] <Moonside> And then you can upgrade your musket!
  144. [23:45] <Moonside> Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Wizards are proficient with the club, dagger, heavy crossbow, light crossbow, and quarterstaff, but not with any type of armor or shield. Armor interferes with a wizard's movements, which can cause his spells with somatic components to fail.
  145. [23:45] <Moonside> I'm pretty sure that there's such a thing as a feat that lowers the fail chance for spells from armor, though.
  146. [23:46] <flibbyjibbits> mithral armor has less but youd have to take the proficiency feat anyways so not worht bothering with
  147. [23:46] <flibbyjibbits> i reccomend a light crossbow (35 gp)
  148. [23:46] <Moonside> What does a quarterstaff do?
  149. [23:46] <Deathfish64> I considered a crossbow but summoners apparently start off poor
  150. [23:47] <flibbyjibbits> bonk on the head
  151. [23:47] <Skeleton> I was going with the light crossbow, yep
  152. [23:47] <Deathfish64> quarterstaffs are primarily monk weapons
  153. [23:47] <Moonside> That's not very useful
  154. [23:47] <flibbyjibbits> its a big stick!
  155. [23:47] <Deathfish64> Monks get to do more fancy stuff with it
  156. [23:47] <Moonside> And why would a Monk use anything other than their fists?
  157. [23:47] <flibbyjibbits> monks can hit people with both sides of it
  158. [23:47] <Moonside> Oh, so it's like a bo staff or something.
  159. [23:48] <flibbyjibbits> pretty much yes
  160. [23:48] <Deathfish64> http://www.swordacademy.com/sitenews/staff16.big.jpg
  161. [23:48] <Deathfish64> lol google images
  162. [23:48] <flibbyjibbits> its also always good to just have a dagger with you
  163. [23:49] <Moonside> Those are not swords.
  164. [23:50] <flibbyjibbits> then what else hm
  165. [23:50] <flibbyjibbits> your spellbook is 15 gp
  166. [23:50] <Moonside> I'd have taken a dagger as well, but I ended up with like 3 gp.
  167. [23:51] <flibbyjibbits> so thats uh 50 of 90
  168. [23:51] <Moonside> Oh, except that a dagger is 2 gp.
  169. [23:51] <Moonside> Derp.
  170. [23:51] <Skeleton> What's Damage (S) and Damage (M), the sheet only has one damage column
  171. [23:51] <flibbyjibbits> 57 with a dagger and enough ammo that i dont have to keep track
  172. [23:51] <flibbyjibbits> M
  173. [23:51] <flibbyjibbits> s is if youre a small creature using mimi weapons
  174. [23:52] <flibbyjibbits> M is medium size, which humans elfs etc are
  175. [23:52] <Skeleton> Ah, gotcha
  176. [23:52] <Moonside> Uhh... flib, can I retroactively buy a dagger with my starting money?
  177. [23:52] <flibbyjibbits> just add a dagger to your inventory
  178. [23:52] <Deathfish64> I'll do that too I guess
  179. [23:52] <Moonside> Ok, if my sheet loads.
  180. [23:53] <flibbyjibbits> http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/goods-and-services this page is huge but has almost every item so if you dont want to load it we can just list off the basics
  181. [23:55] <Deathfish64> uh, I think mythweavers went down or something
  182. [23:56] <Moonside> How often would I have to make Sleight of Hand checks to hide the dagger, flib?
  183. [23:56] <Deathfish64> I tried to save my page, error'd, and now nothing loads
  184. [23:56] <Skeleton> Yeah same here
  185. [23:56] <Moonside> Yeah, it's not loading for me either.
  186. [23:56] <flibbyjibbits> myth weavers is indeed down
  187. [23:56] <flibbyjibbits> make one check when you first hide it
  188. [23:56] <Moonside> Then people make Perception checks against it, I assume.
  189. [23:56] <flibbyjibbits> and the result is kept until the hidden-ness of it changes
  190. [23:57] <flibbyjibbits> my dice rolled a 15 for that if you want
  191. [23:57] <flibbyjibbits> since myth weavers is down we can maybe just get started i think and do that later
  192. [23:57] <flibbyjibbits> uh
  193. [23:57] <Moonside> So 19 with the DEX modifier... yeah, ok.
  194. [23:58] <Deathfish64> pretty hidden
  195. [23:58] <flibbyjibbits> assuming we have everyones attack bonus, damage, ac and health at least >_>
  196. [23:58] <Deathfish64> I forget my ac
  197. [23:59] <Moonside> 4, 1d6, don't remember and 11.
  198. [23:59] <flibbyjibbits> dang well
  199. [23:59] <flibbyjibbits> do you remember your dex and what armor you have then
  200. [23:59] <Moonside> I think it's 11, though.
  201. [23:59] <Deathfish64> But 2, 1d6 (not that I intend to spend a lot of time in melee), I think maybe 4?, and 9
  202. [00:00] <Moonside> DEX is +4, armor is Leather so +2 armor.
  203. [00:00] <Deathfish64> eidolon stuff I can just look up
  204. [00:00] <Deathfish64> Actually, my ac is 3
  205. [00:01] <Deathfish64> 1 for padded armor + 2 from dex
  206. [00:01] <flibbyjibbits> 10 base so 13
  207. [00:01] <Deathfish64> right, right
  208. [00:01] <Deathfish64> I can maybe not die
  209. [00:01] <Moonside> 16, then.
  210. [00:01] <Deathfish64> Eidolon and summoned monsters I'll just check if I have to
  211. [00:02] <Deathfish64> I remember the evolutions I took
  212. [00:02] <flibbyjibbits> unless you can somehow game it so the eidolon tanks all the damages im going to have to nerf the first boss-type encounter
  213. [00:02] <Deathfish64> hmm
  214. [00:03] <Moonside> What happens to an eidolon when it dies?
  215. [00:03] <Deathfish64> It goes back to its plane and I can summon it the next day with half health
  216. [00:03] <Moonside> Hmmm.
  217. [00:04] <flibbyjibbits> snyways as soon as we get skeletons 4 critical numbers there and i infer from context what eltros are we can do the first thing and then jim can come in right afterwards
  218. [00:04] <Deathfish64> Okay
  219. [00:04] <Moonside> Oh, Mythweavers is back, but the servers are still too busy to display anything.
  220. [00:05] <flibbyjibbits> ill just assume he has studded leather and 18 dex for now then
  221. [00:05] <Deathfish64> And uh, I don't think I can make the eidolon tank everything because it really has no way to hold stuff back or force the boss to target it. And it doesn't have really high health yet anyway
  222. [00:06] <flibbyjibbits> play him as an npc or whatever until he shws up
  223. [00:06] <flibbyjibbits> i can probably just adjust their hp values down a bit
  224. [00:06] <Deathfish64> The eidolon has 11 hp currently
  225. [00:07] <flibbyjibbits> whats the eidolons stats
  226. [00:07] <Deathfish64> Str 12, Dex 16, Con 13, Int 7, Wis 10, Cha 11
  227. [00:07] <Deathfish64> serpentine form
  228. [00:07] <CommodoreJim> I'm here with food
  229. [00:07] <Moonside> Yay.
  230. [00:07] <flibbyjibbits> right now im just making a little grid of attack bonus, damage dice, hp, and ac
  231. [00:07] <flibbyjibbits> hi jim
  232. [00:08] <Deathfish64> Natural armor is +2
  233. [00:08] <Deathfish64> BAB from level is +1
  234. [00:08] <Moonside> Natural weapons?
  235. [00:08] <Deathfish64> http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/summoner/eidolons oh just here
  236. [00:09] <flibbyjibbits> does anyone still have skeletons sheet open
  237. [00:09] <Deathfish64> It has the evolutions Improved Damage(Bite), Reach(Bite), and Unnatural Aura in addition to the free ones
  238. [00:10] <flibbyjibbits> k
  239. [00:10] <Deathfish64> Which means its natural weapons are 1d8+1 bite and 1d6 tail slap
  240. [00:10] <Deathfish64> or something like that
  241. [00:11] <flibbyjibbits> something like that
  242. [00:11] <flibbyjibbits> does anyone have the sheet open or at least just remember his dex mod
  243. [00:11] <Deathfish64> I remember my mod
  244. [00:12] <flibbyjibbits> no skeletons
  245. [00:12] <Deathfish64> oh
  246. [00:12] <Moonside> It's, er... damn, I forgot.
  247. [00:12] <flibbyjibbits> wait nvm
  248. [00:13] <flibbyjibbits> i remember he has 11 ac so its 1
  249. [00:13] <flibbyjibbits> alright i think thats everything we need for now so we can begin the adventure as soon as he gets back from wherever he is apparently and explain whtas going on
  250. [00:14] <Skeleton> Me? I'm still here
  251. [00:14] <flibbyjibbits> oh
  252. [00:14] <flibbyjibbits> well then
  253. [00:14] <Skeleton> I was just no help '
  254. [00:14] <Moonside> Yay!
  255. [00:14] <Skeleton> 'cause my sheet wasn't open
