- Mary Kichigona bolted up, panting. She held her head and groaned in distress. Again, she had this odd nightmare of gnawing teeth, flashes of red, loud croaks from ravens...all happening at once.
- These night terrors kept appearing ever since she started this ambitious project a month ago. The geneticist sighed, feeling as if it was a mere few days back when she started project Alpha. She ate some cereal quickly, since she had to check on the wolves. She ran outside. But a familiar old man was outside her door with a smile. "Hello Mary..I say, you need to relax a little. Here is your paper." He gave her a newspaper. She sighed in frustration but still thanked him. "Thank you, Mr. Alexander..." she got her newspaper and rushed past him. He called after her. "God bless!"
- He hobbled to other houses, muttering, "I hope He doesn't mind Mary's tinkering with these animals..." she rushed to the facility. She ran to a huge room with cages. She opened the door calmly. James was there. It was obvious that he was there for a while, since his hair was a mess and he was tired. Mary sighed.
- "James..well this is unprecedented. I see you have woken up early..." James chuckles. "Yeah, I have...but look at these guys! Ain't it crazy how big they are?" Mary looks over. It makes sense the wolves are so big at just one months of age. Her growth serum helps the growth rate double, even triple. She grimaced as she looked in. Same thing. They were huge, yes. Slightly bigger than a english mastiff, and just as muscular. But they were, to put it simply...mentally stunted. James waved the meat in one's face. It was one of five wolves, the leader, A-dog. A-dog's eyes moved slowly to the meat. He bit at it. Missed. He wobbled around to turn his body, and snapped again. Missed again. James snickered a little. He continued to engage them as they futilely shambled around. Mary took a quick, curious glance at the newspaper. The front page had news of wolf pups being killed off. Not by a human, but a bite..or bites..on their necks. Mary shuddered, though she can't place why.
- She looked over at James and sighed. "Just give the poor thing the meat. Even if he can't get it on his own.." James nods and gave it to A-dog. He messily ate the steak, jaws wide and flappy. Mary fed the others. She blinked and looked closer to the last one she fed, O-dog. He had some weird Mark's on his neck. She took a closer look. It was a bite mark. Not a wolf, but two bites on each side, two squares.. She shook her head. It can't be. It just can't. They were gone from this planet, she made sure of it. The opening of a door slapped her out of her mind. She looked up. It was Carl Purrings, a darker skinned man, of the genetisists. He pants a tiny bit. "The general is here guys. Time to show these uh...beauties...off." she grimaced at him slightly. They were still her wonderful creation, no matter what everyone else thinks. Everyone got the wolves into their cages. It is time..
