  1. Burnout Revenge: Any%
  2. =====================
  3. Link to Timing Tests for this route: https://pastebin.com/TwEyy41D
  4. =====================
  5. In Any%, the goal is to complete Grand Prix 10.
  6. All other Grand Prixs DO NOT matter. So this route
  7. gets to Rank 10 as fast as possible and then unlocks
  8. GP 10 to complete the run.
  9.
  10. Crash Events are the fastest events.
  11. Burning Laps/Previews are the second fastest events.
  12. Road Rages are the third fastest events.
  13. Races/Eliminators are the fourth fastest events.
  14. Traffic Attacks are the slowest events.
  15.
  16. You need 400 Stars to unlock Rank 10, that is 80 Events
  17. assuming 5 Stars on each event. This is not feasible unless
  18. you're Jesus himself, so you'll probably have to do a few extra
  19. events to make up the Stars. I needed 85 in my test run through.
  20.
  21. This route is very free-form. I'm going to list all of the
  22. events that Ive done on an average run through of Any%.
  23. What events you do depends on how good you are at the game.
  24. You may find yourself needing to do less events than me if
  25. you get 5 Stars on almost every event, or you may need to do more
  26. if you find yourself getting a lot of 4 Stars.
  27.
  28. If you need to do more events than what I have listed, refer
  29. to the Backup Event list at the bottom.
  30. =====================
  31. EVENT TYPES
  32. =====================
  33. Here are some notes about the event types in the game:
  34. - Crash Events are fast and are not that hard. With practice,
  35. a 4 Star rating is guaranteed and a 5 Star is kinda easy.
  36. Only a few Crash events are very hard to get 5 Stars on.
  37.
  38. - Burning Laps and Previews are fast and easy. Very few take longer
  39. than 2m to complete. Practice these and you should get 5 Stars
  40. almost every time.
  41.
  42. - Road Rages are very fast early on. Once you start to need around
  43. 20 Takedowns for Gold, they start to take longer and become more
  44. comparable to Races/Eliminators. They are also much more RNG heavy
  45. at that point and can eat up a lot of time if you miss Gold. Try to
  46. avoid these longer Road Rages unless you're very confident in them.
  47.
  48. - Races and Eliminators are about equal. Eliminators are a consistent
  49. 2m30s for Silver or Gold (depending on what position you're in) and
  50. 2m00s for Bronze. Single lap Races (such as those early on in the game)
  51. are faster than Eliminators, but once you get to longer Races, the
  52. Eliminators are a bit faster since most Eliminators cover a single
  53. lap around a course and maybe half of another lap at worst.
  54.
  55. - Traffic Attacks should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. Really
  56. after Rank 1 you should never do a Traffic Attack (I do one in Rank 4 to
  57. unlock a Road Rage though). They can take a long time to reach Gold, and
  58. sometimes getting an Awesome rating is hard. They often take the longest
  59. to finish. However, they are useful if you need a quick 1-3 Stars. Getting
  60. a Great and a Silver/Bronze is fast and efficient to make up a few quick Stars.
  61. =====================
  62. TIPS AND TRICKS
  63. =====================
  64. Here are a few tips and tricks to go fast:
  65. - Always Rank up on a Crash Event.
  66. Crash Events allow you to retry them regardless of your medal obtained
  67. (all other events don't offer a retry if you get a medal). If you immediately
  68. retry the Crash event then quit out, you get all of the earned Stars but you skip
  69. the entire screen and animation of the Stars getting added to your Revenge Rank.
  70. This saves around 10-12s per Crash event and saves more than that when you Rank up
  71. because you skip the "Rank Up" animation as well.
  72.
  73. - During Crash events, if you enter "Impact time" as your Crashbreaker bar fills,
  74. you can trigger the crashbreaker extremely fast as the slowed time of Impact Time
  75. slows the rate at which your Crashbreaker bar empties. So, a Force 10 crashbreaker
  76. can be set off with 2-3 button taps instead of a few seconds of mashing.
  77.
  78. - Don't just hold Impact Time the entire Crash event. Doing this slows down all of the
  79. cars and stalls the event. Practice and do it only when your bar is about to reach 100%.
  80.
  81. - Practice using the Rank 5, 185 MPH car for all events. Once this car is unlocked, it's
  82. the only car you use for the entire run until you get one in Rank 9/10. This car handles
  83. well and holds it's own in every event, but it will be slower than the AI by later Ranks
  84. so a little practice is worth it.
  85.
  86. - Practice Burning Laps until you know the courses and ideal shortcuts to get 5 Stars.
  87. These events are free 5 Stars if you practice them. They are unforgiving, but not hard
  88. once you learn the ins and outs of the courses. Just don't crash.
  89.
  90. - Once you get the necessary medal in Road Rage, crash your car into everything.
  91. If you crash enough in Road Rage you "Total" your car and the event ends regardless
  92. of the time left. This can help you end the Event almost instantly instead of waiting
  93. for 100+ seconds to tick off the clock. The clock also runs while you crash so if you
  94. don't crash enough, you'll still time out.
  95.
  96. - Practice Crash Events A LOT.
  97. I can't stress this one enough; Crash Events, especially later ones, get a bad rep for
  98. being hard to Gold on. This is not entirely accurate as only a few (Drain Damage, Forest Bump,
  99. Mountain the Kerb, and a few more) are really hard to Gold. The rest require you to know what
  100. car is best and where to start the crash. The traffic patterns in Crash events are ALWAYS the same
  101. when you start the event. If you retry the event, the patterns can vary. So, learn the pattern from
  102. a 1st try of the event, and learn to capitalize on that pattern. Golds can be obtained very
  103. consistently with a little practice and knowledge.
  104.
  105. - Get Bronze in every non-Race/Burning Lap event in Rank 10.
  106. You only need a medal to unlock the next event, so shoot for the fastest medal.
  107. Unless it's a Race or Burning Lap (where Gold is fastest), shoot for the bare minimum; the
  108. Stars you get here don't mean anything.

  245. **So many events are done in Rank 9 because it has a
  246. lot of Road Rages and Eliminators open. Previous Ranks
  247. require a Traffic Attack and/or a Race to unlock more events
  248. and neither of those are that fast to do. Eliminators here
  249. should beat them out in time spent getting 5 Stars**
  250.

  265. =====================
  266. NOTABLE BACKUPS
  267. =====================
  268. If you find yourself short on Stars even with the few
  269. extra events I do in the Route, here are some notable
  270. backup events:
  271. - Rank 5 - White Mountain - Traffic Attack
  272. - Rank 5 - White Mountain - Road Rage
  273. - Rank 4 - Lone Peak - Race
  274. - Rank 4 - Angel Valley - Race
  275. - Rank 6 - Eastern Bay - Race
  276. - Rank 7 - Angel Valley - Race (Has faster car, consider doing in route if you want it)
  277. - Rank 8 - Eternal City - Race
  278. - Rank 9 - Eastern Bay - Road Rage
  279. These are listed in preferred order. Meaning, don't do the Rank 8
  280. Race unless you have no choice. Start with the Rank 5 Traffic Attack,
  281. then work your way through this backup list until you have all
  282. the necessary Stars you were short on.
  283.
  284. There are also additional Traffic Attacks in Ranks 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9.
  285. These can be useful if you're only missing a couple Stars and need
  286. to make them up fast. A Bronze+Great in a Traffic Attack can be
  287. reasonably fast and safe for this.
  288.
  289. If you're still short on Stars even after going through this whole
  290. backup list, then you probably need more practice before doing Any% runs
  291. because that means you had a lot of 3 or 4 Star events when you should have
  292. been getting 5 Stars on them.
