46. The story of several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they work to defeat the forces of evil.
 47. They are the next evolutionary leap of mankind, a generation of humans born with paranormal abilities - The Tomorrow People. Stephen Jameson stands at the crossroads between the world we know and the shifting world of the future. Up until a year ago, Stephen was a "normal" teenager - until he began hearing voices and teleporting in his sleep, never knowing where he might wake up. Now, Stephen's issues have gone far beyond the usual teenage angst, and he is beginning to question his sanity. In desperation, Stephen decides to listen to one of the voices in his head, and it leads him to his first encounter with the Tomorrow People - John, Cara and Russell - a genetically advanced race with the abilities of telekinesis, teleportation and telepathic communication. The Tomorrow People are being hunted down by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra. Led by Dr. Jedikiah Price, Ultra sees the Tomorrow People as a very real existential threat from a rival species, and the outcast group has been forced to hide out in an abandoned subway station just beneath the surface of the human world. Trading in secrets, Jedikiah offers Stephen the chance for a normal life with his family and best friend, Astrid, if he will help in the struggle to isolate and eradicate the Tomorrow People. On the other hand, Cara, John and Russell offer Stephen a different type of family and a home where he truly belongs. Unwilling to turn his back on humanity or the world of the Tomorrow People, Stephen sets out on his own path - a journey that could take him into the shadowy past to uncover the truth about his father's mysterious disappearance, or into an unknown future with The Tomorrow People.
 48. I rarely write reviews, unless I have a good reason. Well here it is.Many people like to write when they don't like a show. When theybelieve they lost their time watching something they didn't like.

I understand a bit, but I write a review because I'm outraged. Angry that a good quality series went to "limbo" (aficionados will know better), because some people thought they had seen it already or perhaps due to bad TV-scheduling. I showed to some persons and they also got hooked from the 1st episode! In art there is no parthenogeneseis (virgin-birth). Yes there is no power we haven't seen in comic book history and yes there are similarities with X-men and "heroes", but the way it is delivered is pleasant and all the actors are great. Both physically and performance-wise. Especially Robbie Amell and Peyton List, (Luke Mitchell only slightly behind them) seem to be destined to much more, and their rare but notable presence in "the flash" is one of the proofs. I am at the moment at the 18th episode and what I can tell you is that the more you see the harder it gets to resist seeing the next episode. Why? not just because of some last moment anchors (also, but not only), but because the u-turns, revelations and pace become so puzzling, exciting and well done, that I often have to stop in the middle of an episode to not being tempted to see one more!

There are so many series out there, going on for decades based on rubbish, while a nice one like this is ended in 1 season, it's unfair. Star Trek original series, Saint Seyia lost canvas, Tomorrow people, all ended despite so much potential
 49. With all the dialog clichés, American apple pie cast and unoriginal ideas permeating this unremarkable X-men clone I found myself groaning far more than cheering. There's such a clear line between good and evil in this show that it could only really appeal to children. Don't anticipate any nuanced character development or complex morality explorations here. Just a lot of pretty people doing very little with a labored script.

The main character, Stephen Jameson, is played with earnest by Robbie Amell who does his best to lay on the tortured soul confused by his latent powers. It's laid on a little thick at times but what else are you going to do with a character with daddy issues? The idea that this stunning looking man would be the object of bullying at school is, to be quite frank, laughable. He's more the quarterback, lunch money extortionist looking type.

Attempts to make the gang of misfits in the New York subway seem pally just come off forced and our villain, played with reasonable effort by Mark Pellegrino, is so far away from being a fascinated evolutionary biologist and it falls into unintentional farce when it's revealed that he's Stephen's long lost uncle.

By this stage my eyes were permanently rolling in my skull and I didn't have the nerve to persevere to the end. If it's airbrush quality young stars you seek with nothing more complex than "good is great and bad is nasty" look no further.

 51. Yes, it is a remake of the British sci-fi series The Tomorrow People (1973) which was created by Roger Price and ran from 1973-79. The US series is actually the second remake, as Price himself oversaw a British remake (also titled The Tomorrow People (1992)) which ran from 1992-95. Yes, although there are still many similarities and the general concept of the series remains the same. The original series began with the Tomorrow People comprising John, Carol, Kenny, and their new recruit Stephen. John is the eldest member of the team and he was the one responsible for building TIM, a biotronic, sentient computer which aids the team and can augment their powers. In the original version, the team still represent the next phase of human evolution and are called homo-superior, in contrast to the rest of the human race who are homo-sapiens. Their powers included teleportation (called "jaunting"), telekinesis, and telepathy. "Jaunting" over long distances was done with the aid of a belt (later a bracelet). The team's goal was to assist other Tomorrow People as they "break-out" (i.e. when their special powers become active, usually in adolescence), and they operated from an underground base called The Lab which was situated in an abandoned part of London's Underground Rail Network. As well as Earth-bound adventures, the series featured several stories set in space and on alien worlds (the team were affiliated with a Galactic Federation which was analogous to the United Nations). New Tomorrow People joined the team on a regular basis, though there was never more than four or five team members at any one time.

In the US remake, the main characters still include John and Stephen, though Carol is now called Cara and Russell appears to be the closest analog to Kenny. Again, Stephen is a new recruit who joins the team to assist others as they "break out", though we learn Stephen's father was also a Tomorrow Person which is not something the original series did. The team still operate from an underground subway base, though it is not referred to as "The Lab" as in the original, and there are far more Tomorrow People who inhabit the base. TIM is also present in the new series, and was again built by John, though looks different to the original version. Again, the Tomorrow People have psionic powers, though teleportation is not referred to as jaunting in this version and does not require a belt. Newer powers are also seen, such as Stephen's ability to stop time. So far in this version, all of the Tomorrow People's activities have been set on Earth and there is no indication of a Galactic Federation or even extra-terrestrial life.

In both versions, the Tomorrow People have an adversary called Jedikiah. In the original version, Jedikiah was a shape-shifting alien robot who later took on human form. In the US remake, he is the uncle of Stephen and is a high-ranking official in an organisation called Ultra which aims to hunt down all of the Tomorrow People as they are perceived as a threat to homo-sapiens. a5c7b9f00b
