OoT 3D Randomizer Tips & Tricks

===Lost Woods===
- As adult Link at the maze with the moblins, at the very beginning of the maze near the first moblin you can summon the scarecrow and hookshot up to it. This skips having to go through the entire maze and sneaking past the moblins.


===Hyrule Castle===
- At the part where you usually jump into the water to avoid the two guards at the end, you can just walk along the edge and the guards won't see you. Just follow the stone pavement leading to the tree, but keep close to the edge.


===Lon Lon Ranch===
- In the barn with the milk crates, if you stand flat against the wall and roll then press the first person view button, you can see through the wall and determine what item is behind the crawlspace and save time if it's junk.


===Market===
- As an adult, soon as you enter the poe keeper's hideout, if you turn right and break the pot on the right, it will always contain 20 rupees.

- As a child at night, when you're coming back from Hyrule Castle you can break the nearby crate for 20 rupees. Works one time however.


===Kakariko Village===
- If you use the front door to Impa's house, you can play Epona's Song to the cow from behind the gate. You can also see what item is behind the gate beforehand to see if it's worth going after with a cucco.

- At the windmill as a child, you can play the song of storms right from the entrance by the door rather than approaching the windmill guy. Then you can walk out the door after.

- In the windmill as adult, you can use the hover boots to get on top of the spinning platform. Stand on the stone podium and walk towards the center of the spinning shaft and you'll grab on. Another way to get up to the spinning platform is to use the hookshot on the slanted wooden piece of the roof and then do a jump attack.


===Graveyard===
- To get Dampe to spawn in the graveyard, it has to be between 6PM - 12 AM. The best way to get this time range is to stand in a time-flowing area until you first hear the wolf howl. The sun's song helps make this easier, just make to use it outside of Kak. You have only about 40 seconds from the moment the wolf howls to walk into Kak from Hyrule Field or from Death Mountain. After those 40 seconds are up, it's essentially midnight or later and Dampe won't show up.

- In the graveyard where the piece of heart crate is, if you stand flat against the wall and roll then press the first person view button, you can see through the wall and determine what item is inside the crate and save time if it's junk and won't need a magic bean.


===Goron City===
- If you have the fairy bow, you can stand on the top-most level and aim at the two bomb flowers leading to Medigoron. When the rolling goron is nearby, shoot the bomb flower to stop his rolling with ease. Bombchus are another easy way to stop him if you don't have the bow.

- The child-only torches around the spinning pot can be lit with Din's Fire if you don't have access to Zelda's Lullaby. The bomb flowers by the shop and at the Lost Woods shortcut can also be lit up using Din's Fire or arrows.

- If you light a deku stick on fire and roll into the bomb flowers leading to the Lost Woods, you can ignite the bombs.

- If you have both the hookshot and Nayru's Love but not the song of time, you can get past the lava room and hookshot the target to get to the grotto with the three scrubs.


===Death Mountain Trail===
- You can grab the bomb flower and walk backwards with it to bring it to the cracked wall where the 50 rupee chest usually is. For situations where you don't have bomb bag / bombchus / megaton hammer / blue fire, but have strength1.


===Death Mountain Crater===
- You can get to the top of the volcano where the piece of heart usually is by using the hover boots and walking across the pit from the leftmost bridge stake near Goron City entrance.


===Zora's Domain===
- With the bunny hood you can actually start the rupee diving minigame and then run back to light the torches instead, and still have about 10 seconds to spare to collect the rupees after and win the minigame. You can jump off the spiral ramp and land on the area with the fishes for a shortcut.

Dungeons

===The Great Deku Tree===
- If you do this dungeon as an adult, you can get by the deku scrubs if you have either the hylian shield or megaton hammer. However, the three scrubs in the B2 level require the hylian shield as using the hammer will hit all of them at once and not work.


===Dodongo's Cavern===
- You can use the bow to shoot the bomb flowers that reveal the staircase, if you shoot one bomb on each end quick enough.


===Inside Jabu Jabu's Belly===
- In the room with the bubbles, you can throw deku nuts to instantly defeat the entire group of enemies


===Forest Temple===
- When fighting the first three poe sisters, aim in first person with the hookshot and shoot them again and again until they're defeated. Use deku nuts on them if they become invisible to make them visible again.

- In the block pushing room, if you stand where the eye switch is and use the hover boots, you can hover over to the door ahead that leads outside. Skipping a small portion of the dungeon and also allowing you to get to the courtyard if you don't have the song of time or fairy bow.


===Fire Temple===
- When you use the scarecrow to get to the extra area and you're finished getting the chest that you race to, you can jump down the hole and land on the floor below for a shortcut. Rather than backtracking the way you came from.
The same thing applies when you get the chest that contained the megaton hammer, you can jump down the crater hole for a shortcut down a floor below next to the song of time block.


===Water Temple===
- If you use Farore's Wind in the center room where the gold skulltulla requires the longshot, you can raise the water to the third level then return to the warp point and get the gold skulltulla with the hookshot.

- You can use the hover boots to cross the gap where you shoot the eye switch and the gate briefly opens. Alternatively, you can shoot the eye switch from the top level with a well aimed arrow and then jump down to where the gate opens up.

- You can use the hover boots and megaton hammer to push yourself over the gap to the boss room. Equip the hammer and hold R to duck down. Then use the hammer and quickly equip the hover boots which will push you far back and you can grab the ledge.

- In the room with the dragon statues that get raised and lowered, you can jump in the water and use the iron boots to sink down. Then you can use the hookshot to hit the crystal switch to raise the statues and then hookshot the last dragon statue. This skips having to raise and lower the statue over and over. You could also use the hover boots in this room to get across easily.

- The hover boots can also be used to reach the hole where the boulder comes out of in the area where you'd get the boss key. This skips two rooms which have no checks in them. You can also make this jump with a precise roll jump if you don't have hover boots.


===Spirit Temple===
- On the child side,  if you light up a deku stick using the torch in the center room, you can take that fire to the room on the right and light the two torches to spawn the chest. This makes it so that you don't have to collect the silver rupees or deal with the keese or wallmaster. Alternatively, you can use Din's Fire on the torches.

- On the child side in the room with the stalfos and green bubble, you can use the slingshot on the crystal switch if you stand on the far right after coming from the door. Use a deku nut on the stalfos as it drops down so you can hit the switch uninterrupted. Leave and re-enter the room if you miss the switch too much and also freeze the stalfos again.

- If you're returning to the spirit temple to face the boss and already lowered the platform in front of the big goddess statue, you can take a shortcut to the hanging platform in the central room by using the longshot on one of the chains supporting the platform. You don't have to backtrack to the top of the dungeon again.


===Shadow Temple===
- The spinner of truth in the first room has five skull torches but only three are possible solutions. The two torches closer to the regular fire torch are always false. The skull torch closer to the hover boots location has a 44% chance of being correct, therefore the most likely to be correct if guessing without using the lens of truth. Always guess this torch and not the others. The torches are randomized each time you void out or re-enter the dungeon.

- In the room where the platforms with spikes come down repeatedly, you don't have to push the block underneath the spikes. Instead, you can stand underneath one of them and backflip as it's coming down to clip through it and get on top of it. You just need to stand on the far left or far right of the platform to be able to clip through.

- You can use the hookshot reticle to help cross the invisible moving platform in the open ended room without the lens of truth. When the reticle becomes a circle, you can tell that the platform is there and it's safe to jump to the platform.

- In the room with the spikes and redeads, defeat the redeads to spawn a chest and get on top of it. You can then reach the hookshot target above without the longshot. Alternatively, you can stand on the leftmost platform and use the hover boots to backwalk and backflip onto the platform leading to the locked door.

- While riding the boat to the end of the dungeon, if you stand at the hull (top most part of the boat) until the second stalfos spawns, you can prevent it from spawning onto the boat. It'll instead spawn and fall into the pit and void out. Leaving just one stalfos to deal with for the ride.


===Ice Cavern===
- In the room with the ice block puzzle, you can get to the frozen silver rupee without pushing the ice block. By walking towards a pit then walking away from the pit but triggering Link to jump, which propels him forward and he'll grab the ledge. This can also work to get to the ledge to the next room once all the silver coins are collected.


===Ganon's Castle===
- At the end of the spirit trial, if you stand by the leftmost torch and shoot an arrow through it, you can burn the spider web without fire arrows. In general it's possible to beat all of Ganon's Castle without fire arrows.


- In the second half of the ice trial, you can use the hover boots to climb the ice block. Then hover over to the ledge where you find the rusted switch. Without having to push a single ice block.

Bosses

===Big Octorok===
- For an easy win, just simply let it run into you and take a hit. It will automatically turn around and you can stun it with the boomerang and land a jump attack. Repeat this one more time and it will be dead in two hits, and always drops hearts.


===Barinade===
- You can use deku nuts to defeat the jellies easily

- During the third phase after you hit it with your sword and it burrows underground, just take a hit by walking into it or getting electrocuted and it will immediately start spinning again. This way you won't have to sit and wait for a while.

- If you're using only deku sticks and you run out, you can use the pots around the room to damage barinade's third phase.


===Flame Dancer===
- If you use the master sword and jump attack or a fully charged spin attack, you can instantly end each phase of the fight. After each hit, it'll jump back into the fire immediately. Does not work with the biggoron sword or giant's knife.


===Volvagia===
- While Volvagia burrows underground, you can drop bombs on the lava pit that it dived into to deal free damage. 1 damage in particular per bomb explosion.

- Alternatively, you can drop bombchus by shielding and then throwing a deku nut to quickly detonate them over the lava pit in rapid succession, one bombchu after the next. This is quicker than waiting for regular bombs to explode.

- Volvagia has a total of 12 HP. Jump attack does 2 damage, arrows and bombs deal 1 damage, and ice arrows deal about 6 damage while it's flying. The final blow has to be after hammering its face and attacking it.


===Morpha===
- Once you hookshot Morpha over to you, keep using the hookshot on it and drag it into a corner. Once cornered, simply hit it over and over until it's defeated. But don't swing the sword too fast, wait for the 1 second iframe.


==Deadhand===
- You can backflip into one of the hands to easily trigger Deadhand without having to wiggle out of the hand's grip. Since they can't grab you while you're airborne. Alternatively, you can jump attack the hands to achieve the same thing.


===Dark Link===
- You can easily defeat Dark Link by facing away from him and holding L, then hold right and swing the sword when he's near your back. It hits him nearly every time, for a flawless fight.

- Alternatively, you can stun Dark Link with deku nuts if you throw them to the right or left side of him but not directly at him. The splash damage from the deku nut would cause him to be stunned.


===Iron Knuckles===
- The ones in the spirit temple can be easily defeated with the biggoron sword or giant's knife if you position yourself behind the throne chair it's sitting in and then repeatedly jump attack. The chair will act as a shield in the time that you're landing hits.


===Ganon===
- You can hit Ganon's tail more easily with deku nuts for 1 damage, an easy way to deal with phase 1. All weapons in general deal 1 damage except the master sword, which deals the usual 2 damage (4 with jump attack). So jump attacks with the master sword is the best damage on Ganon. In total it would take about 10 deku nuts for phase 1, and about 4 jump attacks in phase 2 to put an end to him.

Miscellaneous Tips & Tricks

- Deku sticks deal master sword damage (2 damage), but don't deal extra damage with jump attacks. This applies only to the 3DS version. It does biggoron sword damage on the N64 version when jump attacking with a stick.

- You can break a deku stick in half for multiple uses. To do this, line your back against a flat wall and then side hop and jump attack with the stick. It'll break in half and you can use the same stick over and over for attacking. Essential for swordless runs. This doesn't work if it's your last stick.

- You can damage boost into a ring of fire to grab a chest within it by rolling towards the chest and mashing the A button during iframes. Eventually Link will open the chest and ignore the flames. In general, if you roll into chests while mashing A, Link won't bonk and will open the chest instead.

- Since you can catch any sized fish for a reward in this rando, it's best to catch the fishes on the right side of the pond which are 2-4 pounds as child, and 4-6 pounds as adult.

- You can lure fishes closer to you and then let them bite for a quicker catch. You can instantly catch a fish if the fish is in front of you when it bit the lure.

- Like Likes are much easier to kill with crouch stabs, they can't block your attacks this way.

- You can spawn a big poe in Hyrule Field in front of the sign by Market if you stand there and wait until one spawns. It has a 30% chance without riding Epona.

- The skull kids in the Lost Woods as an adult drop 200 rupees after killing them. Great way to earn rupees quickly.

- Blue fire can be used to break most bomb-able walls, like the ones found on Death Mountain and Goron City.

- When you purchase items from shops or scrubs, you receive the item first and then money is removed from your wallet. So if you buy a huge rupee and were full on rupees, you'll end up with less rupees than what you had.

- The ice arrows can actually freeze Bongo Bongo's hands, and can also freeze spike traps. Not particularly useful though.
