  1. Start: 7 am, Foreautumn 27, 401 GA
  2.
  3. The party forges on ahead into the damp chamber. They notice a few crude traps and water elementals. After a very brief discussion, they decide to attack the elementals.
  4.
  5. During the combat, it is revealed these creatures are simply summoned from the beyond's abyssal oceans. While not evil themselves, they have limited sentience, and generally obey the whim of the summoner.
  6.
  7. The summoner is revealed, and appears to be a foreign warrior of the Danaan. He appeared to be a part of a knightly order, if the sigils on his armor were any clue. Ryardynin read the sigils, and they spelled out phrases in Danaan. He could read them fractionally, and understood the following: '... Chosen to breathe life into the word of the Queen ... will follow a righteous crusade, a blade of her majesty... to wield spell and sword in a perfect symphony...'
  8.
  9. Holow greeted him and told him they did not mean him any harm. The warrior hesitated, and told her, using magic to translate his speech, that her and her allies could lay down their arms and they could meet.
  10.
  11. He introduced himself with the following: 'I have no fear of barbarians of the hidden elf continent. I am known as Righteous Toil, a opalknight riftseeker. I am tasked with recovering the relic. We seek to draw the chosen into service of our queen. Who are you, and who do you serve?'
  12.
  13. Holow planned to charm him, but their discussion and uneasy truce was cut short by Emilia ensuring Righteous Toil posed the party no threat. She froze the man successfully, and the deliberation ceased.
  14.
  15. After a brief discussion amongst themselves, it was decided they would finish speaking with this knight. He understandably was a bit upset with being frozen solid, but relented once talked down.
  16.
  17. He stated his mission was to recovered relics, to 'compel the service of the chosen by his queen'. He rather blatant, as if he thought his words carried more weight than they did to the party. After a short discussion, Righteous Toil seemed to believe the party agreed to surrender the relic to him and meet his queen. They did not agree with this, but sought assistance in their upcoming conflict with whatever was making noise in the next chamber. Righteous Toil made it clear his queen may 'deign' to allow the party to keep 'her' relic, if they agreed to enter her service.
  18.
  19. Dianna spoke with Holow privately and stressed if the party were to kill Righteous Toil, they should do so in secrecy, so the Danaan diviners don't notice. If his body were to be destroyed, as it should be, then the same precautions should be taken.
  20.
  21. The party, now accompanied by Righteous Toil, entered the next room. They found the Heartstone of the Broodmother in the clutches of a Marilith, accompanied by many Mallors. They slew them all and investigated the room.
