  1. Florence Nightingale. The Lady of the Lamp. The Angel in White.
  2.
  3. The Angel of Crimea
  4.
  5. Ceaselessly, she would rush forward to care for the wounded, regardless whether or not if the wounded was a foe or ally.
  6.
  7. The Fortitude and Will to tirelessly and endlessly work to heal and save lives is what defines Florence Nightingale; it is this that imprints her into the Throne of Heroes.
  8.
  9. As Ritsuka walked down the halls of Chaldea, she paused for a brief moment to take a deep breath and adjusted her grip on the medium sized black box in her hands tightly.
  10.
  11. "Deep breaths Ritsuka. You can do this."
  12.
  13. Approaching a door labeled [Medical Bay], she knocked on the door once before entering the room.
  14.
  15. "Nightingale? Are you here?"
  16.
  17. Her voice echoed around the white walls of the sterile Medical Bay, causing Ritsuka to wince and put aside the black box in her hands to search for Nightingale.
  18.
  19. "Oh? It looks like someone is here. Are you in need of treatment, Commander?"
  20.
  21. Ritsuka jumped at the sudden voice that had appeared behind her, "Nightingale!" She yelped, "You surprised me! Where were you?"
  22.
  23. As Ritsuka took a step back to try to calm her heart, she noticed Nightingale tilt her head, scanning over her with her one non bandaged eye.
  24.
  25. "Commander, are you well? You seem to be pale and sweaty. Do you need a blood transfusion?"
  26.
  27. Dressed in a red British Army Uniform with a black coat draped over her shoulders, Nightingale displayed an imposing figure, Ritsuka laughed uneasily as she attempted to calm the Medical Berserker, "Sorry about that, Nightingale. You just startled me. No need to worry."
  28.
  29. "I see," Nightingale nodded, "Then, what is it that you need? I need to further improve the sanitation of the Medical bay; I believe it is still unsanitary. It will not do! It will not do at all!"
  30.
  31. Wincing at the loud tone the Berserker used, Ritsuka placed her hands on top of Nightingale's shoulders.
  32.
  33. "Nightingale, I need to talk to you about something important." Ritsuka said seriously, catching the attention of the Female Berserker, "It's about the missions and singularities that have happened recently, along with the singularities that will be coming."
  34.
  35. With a deep breath, Ritsuka continued on before Nightingale could interject, letting go of her shoulders and walking towards the black box she left on the table earlier. "The singularities have been getting more and more dangerous and it's getting harder and harder to muster up the power needed to take our foes down. Doctor Romani and Da Vinci looked for solutions to try and find a way to increase our manpower."
  36.
  37. "And they've stumbled on a solution."
  38.
  39. At that, Nightingale looked curiously at Ritsuka, who had suddenly fell silent, as she looked down at the black box in her hands.
  40.
  41. "And? Commander, what was the solution that the Doctor and Inventor found? Is it an operation? Do you require my assistance?"
  42.
  43. At that, Ritsuka laughed and shook her head, "No! No! The method they found doesn't require an operation. In fact...."
  44.
  45. With a quiet flourish, Ritsuka dropped the box on the floor and opened it.
  46.
  47. With a soft grunt, she pulled out a Golden chalice, inlaid with breathtaking designs and wonderful craftsmanship, and presented it to Nightingale who tilted her head in confusion.
  48.
  49. "A golden washbowl? How would that help us? I could sterilize everyone just fine."
  50.
  51. "What? No! Geez, what a one-track mind you have Nightingale!" Ritsuka whined, pressing the Chalice into Nightingale's hands, "It's the Holy Grail! You know, the Magic cup that grants wishes? We're going to use it to strengthen you and a few other servants!"
  52.
  53. A look of understanding passed over Nightingale's face as she examined the Grail closely. "Ah, I see. But why choose me, Commander? Aren't there better units to use this on?"
  54.
  55. "Ah, well about that." Ritsuka coughed awkwardly as she rubbed the back of her head, "See, I've talked about it with a few others on who we should use the Grails on and we've all made a consensus that 'The Angel in white' might be more effective with the power of the Grail at her side.'"
  56.
  57. As Nightingale placed a hand over her mouth and started to giggle, her body shook as she processed the words of her Commander.
  58.
  59. "The angel... in white? What is that... are you referring to me? Me, an angel? Fufu, you must be joking, commander. An angel, you say... fufu."
  60.
  61. "C-come on! This is serious!" Ritsuka sputtered, whining once more at the chuckling Berserker, "Please tell me you will accept, Nightingale. We really could use all the help we can get. So, what do you say? Will you accept the Grail?"
  62.
  63. As Nightingale's chuckles subsided, she looked at Ritsuka and nodded, "Very well then, Commander. If it is to help save lives, I will accept."
  64.
  65. Ritsuka's expression turned relieved, "Great!" She cheered, skipping over to the box, having been laid forgotten on the floor, and fished out a piece of paper, "Now to perform Palingenesis, hold the Grail over your heart and concentrate. Maybe add in a wish to be stronger too or something. Are you ready?"
  66.
  67. Nightingale's face morphed into surprise. "Here? Commander, are you are there would be no ill effects? No concatenations and such?"
  68.
  69. "I'm sure it'll be fine, Nightingale," Ritsuka shrugged. "Don't worry about it."
  70.
  71. "Very well then, I shall perform it now."
  72.
  73. As Nightingale took a deep breath and closed her eyes, she gripped the Grail tightly with both hands and pressed it against her chest. After a moment, she began to chant, causing the Grail to start glowing.
  74.
  75. "I will abstain from all that is toxic and harmful! With all of my strength, I will guide the people towards well-being! I will save every life. I will do so without fail, even if I must cull every last one. This is my wish, Holy Grail! Give me the strength to cleanse the world and rid it of all contamination!"
  76.
  77. With each word, the Grail shone brighter and brighter, until the whole room was bathed in white light.
  78.
  79. At the last words of her chant, the Grail began to pulse and sink into Nightingale, causing her to gasp in surprise.
  80.
  81. "Ah! This feeling! I'm being completely sterilized! What a wonderful feeling!"
  82.
  83. As the white light disappeared, Nightingale was left standing staring at her hands in wonder.
  84.
  85. "I'm...stronger. How amazing. It seems like the procedure was successful. I can now save more lives."
  86.
  87. "That's great..." Ritsuka groaned, rubbing her eyes in pain from the powerful white light. "Can I get an aspirin or something? My eyes hurt from that light."
  88.
  89. With a quiet chuckle, Nightingale nodded and began to disinfect her gloves, "Of course, Commander. Just go lie down...."
  90.
  91. "It's time to administer treatment."
