  1. Pokémon Diamond | Any% Glitchless FAQ
  2.
  3. Are you using the new seed?
  4. - No! A path for the new seed is in progress but has not yet been finished. The difference between the two seeds honestly isn't substantial enough for me to not play until it's finished. If the seed ends up being completed before I get my goal time, I'll switch.
  5.
  6. Why do you keep resetting?
  7. - One of 4 reasons most likely.
  8. 1) Missed the starting manipulation. This gives me the wrong seed, so I can't do anything with it.
  9. 2) I messed up my manip movement path too early in the run. (I commit to extended to at least Floaroma, but ideally I get it to at *least* Hearthome.
  10. 3) I died. Speaks for itself.
  11. 4) Run was too bad to warrant continuing. For example, tons of slow fights, hitting spinners etc.
  12.
  13. Why girl?
  14. - It's faster, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9pD4oLiFyo
  15.
  16. Why Chimchar?
  17. - Chimchar is easily the best Poke to use for this run. Getting Hidden Power early really helps to speed up the earlygame, and allows you to beat Roark as a Chimchar instead of needing Monferno. Beyond this, the Lucky Egg in unison with Blaze, and moves like Fire Blast and Flare Blitz allow you to make short work of basically everything.
  18.
  19. What is the hardest fight?
  20. - Almost every single fight in this game is easy, but there are a couple that can present some problems: Pachirisu double (just a potentially awful fight), Maylene, Candice (really easy to die on those 2 if you miss Fire Blast), Mars + Jupiter double can present a lot of issues, Cyrus 3, Volkner and Cynthia.
  21.
  22. Why are you moving so unoptimally?
  23. - I'm doing RNG Manipulation for no encounters (If your question for this occurs past Eterna, the answer is nearly always that I'm shit.)
  24.
  25. Bidoof and Starly?
  26. - Bidoof is taught Cut, and Starly is taught Fly. Later on I'll catch a Bibarel during lucky egg manip for Surf, Waterfall, Strength and Rock Climb.
  27.
  28. Lucky Egg Manip?
  29. - After obtaining Strength in Lost Tower, you return to the grass outside the tower. You use between 1 and 2 encounters to determine the RNG frame that you're on. From there you follow a spreadsheet in order to manipulate a Bibarel, and then a Chansey which will be holding a Lucky Egg.
  30.
  31. What is your goal time?
  32. - 3:39
  33.
  34. What is WR?
  35. - 3:41:32 by scoagogo (me).
  36.
  37. What are the grades? (A+/A/B/C)
  38. - These are actually more for the benefit of the viewer, to see how good the segments were in my PB, with A+ being the best, and C being the worst. Shows easily that losing time to an A+ segment isn't that bad, but losing time against a C segment is really bad. It also allows viewers to see where I'm expected to be able to save large amounts of time.
