- Cyclops Notes
- These are just guidelines for the Cyclops fight. It will not always play out the same, but these are generally the most consistent strategies. Misses and critical hits will make you do less or more damage than usual, so adjust accordingly so you make up for it or avoid sending the Cyclops into a rage too early.
- The Cyclops will have random speed and may still outspeed Ryu after removing his shield. This occurs more often at level 6, so removing Ryu's gear early is not recommended. At level 7 or 8, Ryu will outspeed the Cyclops most of the time. Do so at your own risk.
- Removing Ryu's armor lowers his MOV stat, which saves frames in the long run due to the movement ring being smaller and thus fully expanding in a shorter time. You don't have to remove the armor if you don't want to if you want to take less damage later on.
- Using an AP Plus gives Ryu an extra Slice after turn 2 when at half AP. This is useful in case you end up missing or, in Level 7 Power Boost's case, lets you get away with doing Level 8 Power Boost's strategy, though this is risky. The AP Plus is only useful for level 6 and 7.
- Power Meals and Reflexes can also help, so be sure to use them before the fight.
- Level 6

- Turn 2: Heal Kit, Slice x2 -> Vert Slash -> Deathbringer x3, end turn
- Turn 3: End turn
- Turn 4: Heal Kit (x2 for safety), Slice x2 -> Vert Slash -> Deathbringer x3, end turn
- Turn 5: Remove gear, Slice x6 or Slice -> Vert Slash -> Deathbringer
- Level 7
- Turn 1: End turn
- Turn 2: Heal Kit, Slice x2 -> Vert Slash -> Deathbringer x3, end turn
- Turn 3: End turn
- Turn 4: Remove gear, Slice x2, -> Vert Slash -> Deathbringer x3, end turn
- Turn 5: Slice x6 or Slice -> Vert Slash -> Deathbringer
- Level 8
- Turn 1: End turn
- Turn 2: Heal Kit, Slice -> Vert Slash -> Deathbringer x3, end turn
- Turn 3: End turn
