okay so! i'm requesting leia's husband (i called him abel for the sake of her application/this request, but you're more than welcome to change that! abel and leia met when leia was in college for business in boston and abel was "working" as an artist (aka living in a shitty apartment and trying to sell his art to whatever galleries would have him after moving from his hometown of madison cove). he was the exact opposite of the straight-laced, no funny business type of guy that leia usually went for. even though she was absolutely taken with him, she made him chase her and played hard to get, which was a game abel willingly played. their little flirtations lasted for about a month before leia let him take her out on a date -- the rest was history.<p>

they fell hard and fast for each other and the relationship was unlike anything either of them had ever experienced. it was intense, passionate, all-consuming, you know how it goes. unlike all of leia's previous relationships, it didn't fizzle out; the passion managed to last for weeks, months, years. abel was the opposite of her -- goofy, laid-back, worry free -- but that's what made the relationship work. their personalities may not have matched exactly, but they complemented each other. where leia was lacking, abelmanaged to shine, and vice versa.<p>

despite abel's constant mini-proposals, leia insisted that they wait until she finish college to get married, and that they did. abel surprised her at her graduation ceremony with an actual diamond ring as opposed to the ring pops and twirled up zip ties that he'd been using as mock rings in his prior proposals. leia, of course, accepted his proposal, and they were married after about 8 months. it was after leia because mrs. marlowe that abel presented her with his grand idea: they move back to his hometown of madison cove and open a gallery to showcase his artwork and offer weekly classes for adults and children alike. with his art skills and her business smarts, he didn't see how they could go wrong. despite her qualms about living in such a small city after being in boston all of her life, leia said yes, partly due to the fact that she'd never really ever been able to deny abel anything.<p>

things were fine and dandy at first; however, business quickly fizzled out when abel hit a mental road block and his inspiration was completely gone. after only a few months of being open, the gallery closed due to the fact that abel had sort of mentally checked out and leia was unable to keep things running on the creative front. this in combination with abel's bit of a downward spiral caused quite a bit of a strain on their marriage, but they managed to push through despite the fact that things obviously weren't as great as they were before. a few months down the road, abel had another "great business idea", this time for a bar. again, leia was unable to say no to abel, especially given that it was the most excited she'd seen him in quite some time, so she agreed, got more money from her parents, and opened the bar (the grapevine). the grapevine flourished in a way their art gallery hadn't, bu the happiness that it brought them was only superficial. underneath the surface, their marriage was damaged from years of petty arguments that hid the real problem -- abel wanted to start a family, but leia did not. abel began to be more persistent about wanting children, pressuring leia to the point that their arguments came to a head one day. this time, however, the fight was so explosive that it urged abel to ask for a divorce before disappearing back to boston to "clear his head", leaving leia alone in madison cove.<p>

just recently, abel has returned to madison cove to make the efforts to finalize everything for the divorce. he's been staying in their house with leia and it's clear that neither of them want to go through with the separation, but both of them have been too stubborn thus far to admit it. instead, they dance around each other and have constant moments of brief flirtations, find themselves gravitating towards each other, and have even had moments where they've almost shared kisses. abel desperately wants to make amends with leia more than anything, but he has a secret that is keeping him from doing so -- he had a brief affair with a younger woman while he was in boston. he feels terrible keeping it from the woman he used to tell everything to, but he's terrified that it will ruin the chances of them reconciling and calling off the divorce.<p>

sooo as you can guess, this will entail a lot of angst, the kinda slow-burn rekindling of a marriage, and fluff with these two cute idiots dancing around each other. i was thinking that <i>maybe</i> they end up working things out, even when the cheating bombshell is dropped, but we can plot out specifics. hell, the younger woman could even come to madison cove looking for abel and cause even more drama. there's a ton of possibilities and ways for this plot to play out and i feel like this could be super fun and i'd love you forever if you took this??<p>

as far as faces go, i used a gif of <b>david duchovny</b> above because i'm x-files trash, but abel's face is honestly super super open?? you're welcome to use anyone you'd like as long as they're around leia's age. if you'd like some suggestions: <b>mads mikkelsen, idris elba, patrick dempsey, ben affleck, henry ian cusick, skeet ulrich, alexander skarsgard, colin firth, randall park, diego luna, riz ahmed, tom hardy, honestly.....anyone???</b> i'm not too picky.
