Tentacles

Link considered as much as he swiftly planted his hand on the handle of his blade. Just then, something emerged from the thick mist and wrapped around his left leg. It was a deep red as if it were engorged with venom, and thick as a tree trunk. It was a giant tentacle. Covering its tentacle were numerous suction pads.

Link's ensnared leg was alight with pain, and white smoke rose from his pants. The acid that oozed from its pads was eating at the material in his clothes.

When he drew his blade to lop off the offending tentacle, a horde of tentacles emerged from the fog. Link redirected his attack to focus on the new threat posed by the now-approaching tentacles. It was no effort for him to cleave the tentacles into pieces with his steel sword, but no matter how many he struck down, yet more were waiting to take their place.
