Catherine and Rakuo work on their school project.

[23:32:53] <Multiball> [[It's been a standard day of classes around the middle of the school week after Rakuo and Catherine went to the ice cream shoppe. After the final period ends, Rakuo approaches Catherine at her desk.]]
[23:32:57] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Excuse me, ma'am?
[23:35:09] * []_Cathie looks up from the doodle on her notebook and adjusts her eyes on Kurogane. When she realizes who it is she shuts her notebook as quickly as she can and leans back in her chair. "What?"
[23:35:51] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Uh...I was just wondering if you wanted to get together to work on the history project again.
[23:37:56] * []_Cathie looks a bit surprised to be hearing this from Kurogane. She pauses for a moment. "Okaay?"
[23:38:18] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Okay, so, what's a good time for you?
[23:39:44] * []_Cathie turns her head to look out the window, resting her cheek on her right hand. She tries her best to avoid looking at Rakuo for too long. "..Uh... I don't... Whenever is fine I guess?;."
[23:39:58] <[]_Cathie> ( I guess.."* )
[23:40:37] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Um...Okay. How about now? Are you busy? We could go to the library or something.
[23:43:25] <[]_Cathie> "...Yeah.. Okay."
[23:44:15] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Alright. Let's go.
[23:45:18] * []_Cathie sluggishly reaches down for her bag and slings it over her shoulder. She looks at you for a moment before slapping her hand onto her notebook and sliding it into her bag. "Okay."
[23:47:51] * [Multi]_Rakuo begins to walk down to the library, checking occasionally to make sure that Catherine is following her. The library is sparsely populated; she grabs a table away from the door, nearer to the stacks, taking a seat ner the end.
[23:49:40] * []_Cathie is following at a distance just far enough so they can't talk. She comes into the library room a bit later then sniffles, rubbing under her nose as she wanders over to the table. She takes her seat wherever she feels like it and lays her bag on the table top before immediately putting her head down on her arms.
[23:50:30] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Um...
[23:50:36] * [Multi]_Rakuo is a bit at a loss for words.
[23:50:41] <[Multi]_Rakuo> ...Are you feeling alright?
[23:50:42] <[]_Cathie> "So what are we doing?"
[23:50:54] <[]_Cathie> "... Yeah."
[23:51:14] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Well...
[23:51:27] <[]_Cathie> "Well?"
[23:53:11] <[Multi]_Rakuo> I looked at Nakano's life a bit more, and I don't think we'll have any problems with her. There's some sort of festival held in her honor, so that's good material for the legacy part. I was going to try to start writing up the biography part, and I didn't know if you wanted to do the legacy, or talk about how she lead the Women's Corps...
[23:54:18] * []_Cathie 's wane noticeably. "Mhmm.."
[23:57:25] <[Multi]_Rakuo> ...Are you sure you're alright? It seems like you're really tired or something. Are you sick? Maybe you should go home.
[23:58:46] * []_Cathie opens her eyes and levels her eyebrows then rolls her eyes a little. "I said I'm fine."
[23:59:22] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Yeah, but, you're acting like you're really tired.
[00:00:54] * []_Cathie sits upright. "Nope, just ... bored."
[00:01:33] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Uh...
[00:01:43] * [Multi]_Rakuo scratches her head. She's not quite sure what to do.
[00:01:56] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Okay. Is there anything you want to do for the project, then?
[00:03:29] <[]_Cathie> "Not really. I mean, I'm just going to copy something from the internet anyways."
[00:03:58] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Oh, well, don't do that. That's really easy to catch. The whole project would get a zero.
[00:04:55] * []_Cathie flops her chin against her arms. "Yeah, I know."
[00:06:16] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Okay, so, let's not do that. If you really don't want to do anything, then I can do it and just put your name on it.
[00:07:40] * []_Cathie slowly raises her eyebrow. "... Why would you let me do that? You could just say I didn't want to help and let the teacher give me a zero."
[00:08:27] * [Multi]_Rakuo kind of rolls her eyes and lifts her palms as she explains:
[00:09:04] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Yeah, but that just involves a lot of work. Like, she'll talk to you, she'll talk to me about talking to you, there will be this whole hoo-hah, and I just don't want to deal with it.
[00:10:21] * []_Cathie puts her chin back on her arms and lets her eyelids droop again. "Hmm. Yeah."
[00:10:25] <[Multi]_Rakuo> I care more about the project than about how much you do for it.
[00:11:15] <[]_Cathie> "I can tell."
[00:12:06] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Okay, so, I guess I'll just get to work, then.
[00:12:40] * [Multi]_Rakuo gets a book and a notepad out of her bag. She props the book open and looks through it, beginning to take notes.
[00:13:07] * []_Cathie stares for a moment. "You know, if you really wanted to tell the teacher I wasn't going to work on the project I don't think you would have to worry about any of that. Most of the teachers in this school know I'm lazy so why don't you just talk to them tomorrow. Maybe you can get a new partner or something."
[00:13:25] * [Multi]_Rakuo looks up from her notebook.
[00:13:30] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Is that what you want?
[00:14:40] * []_Cathie pauses, mouth agape. She lowers her head down onto her arms again. "Why are you asking me that?"
[00:15:02] <[]_Cathie> "Is that like, a.. trick question? I'm not making a scheme or anything."
[00:15:10] <[Multi]_Rakuo> It's just, you seem to be kind of pushing the issue.
[00:15:10] <[]_Cathie> "You pick. Don't ask me."
[00:15:55] <[]_Cathie> "Well.. like, why wouldn't you want to deal with that if it meant having an easier time in the long run?"
[00:16:18] <[Multi]_Rakuo> I'm used to doing things by myself. I don't mind it.
[00:20:07] <[]_Cathie> "Well.. like, why wouldn't you want to deal with that if it meant having an easier time in the long run?"
[00:20:10] <[]_Cathie> "You don't really strike me as the lazy type."
[00:21:01] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Well, that's the thing, I don't mind doing all the work myself. I guess if I was lazy, I might try harder to get a partner to do a bigger share of the work, but that's work, too, and I'd rather just shut up and do the work in front of me than doing all that work not to do work.
[00:21:15] <[Multi]_Rakuo> I'm used to doing things by myself. I don't mind it.
[00:24:35] * []_Cathie just sort of stares for a moment.
[00:24:54] <[]_Cathie> "Yeah okay."
[00:25:22] <[]_Cathie> "So what am I supposed to be doing again?"
[00:25:35] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Nothing. Don't worry, I'll do it.
[00:26:11] <[]_Cathie> "Is that what you want>:
[00:26:13] <[]_Cathie> ?"*
[00:26:28] <[Multi]_Rakuo> If it means getting a good grade, yeah.
[00:26:52] <[Multi]_Rakuo> If you're just gonna copy stuff and tank the project, then I'd rather do it myself and keep my scholarship.
[00:27:26] * []_Cathie rolls her eyes.
[00:28:16] <[]_Cathie> "Legacy and Woman's corps."
[00:28:54] <[Multi]_Rakuo> What about 'em?
[00:32:18] * []_Cathie stares up at the ceiling for a minute or so then leans back in her chair. She puts her feet up onto the table then reaches over to get her notebook from her bag. After a moment or so of tapping her pencil on her lip she starts writing down something on the page.
[00:33:18] <[Multi]_Rakuo> What, change of heart?
[00:35:09] <[]_Cathie> "Shhsh!"
[00:35:59] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Just don't copy anything, okay? Let me review your stuff before we submit it.
[00:36:13] <[Multi]_Rakuo> I have some books here, there are probably others in the library if you need them.
[00:45:25] * []_Cathie doesn't seem to pay Rakuo any mind when she is writing down whatever she is writing.
[00:46:14] * [Multi]_Rakuo , then, returns to her own work, flipping through the book and writing things down here and there.
[00:48:12] * []_Cathie flips her page after filling it with words then starts writing on the next one. She continues like this for a few minutes until her pencil breaks. The snap of the tip is fairly audible in the still library setting. "Well I guess I'm done."
[00:48:36] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Oh, really? Let me see.
[00:48:57] * [Multi]_Rakuo extends her hand to take Catherine's paper.
[00:50:00] * []_Cathie takes all of the pages and starts to tear them all out. One of the pages rips right down the middle because that happens when you rip pages out of a spiral notebook sometimes. She puts them back together then slaps them down on the table, ignoring the extended hand or just not noticing it. She closes her notebook thereafter.
[00:50:11] * []_Cathie starts to shove her notebook into her bag.
[00:50:18] * []_Cathie zips her bag shut.
[00:50:31] * []_Cathie slings her bag over her shoulder and stands up.
[00:50:46] * []_Cathie walks around her char and begins to push it in.
[00:50:59] * [Multi]_Rakuo takes Catherine's papers and taps them on the table to even them up. Seeing Catherine stand up, she asks:
[00:51:09] <[Multi]_Rakuo> So is that it? Are you gonna do anything else for the project?
[00:51:25] <[]_Cathie> "I need to go find another pencil."
[00:51:36] <[]_Cathie> "I only had one."
[00:52:04] <[Multi]_Rakuo> You can borrow one of mine if you want. I have a couple extras.
[00:54:12] * []_Cathie stops for a moment then leans over the chair, reaching her hand out for a pencil
[00:54:56] * [Multi]_Rakuo fishes in her pencil bag for a second or two before taking out a mechanical pencil and placing it in Catherine's hand.
[00:56:27] * []_Cathie clicks it to get the lead to come out but it's just to short
[00:56:43] * []_Cathie clicks it again but holds the button for too long, causing the led to slide like an inch out.
[00:56:56] * []_Cathie tries to push it back in but the lead just breaks.
[00:57:11] * []_Cathie repeats the process with mild variances
[00:57:27] * []_Cathie finally tilts it parallel to the table then tries again..
[00:57:33] * []_Cathie clicks two times but it's too short.
[00:57:53] * []_Cathie clicks one more time then sits down to start writing but the pencil immediately snaps on the page.
[00:57:58] * []_Cathie clicks it once and starts writing.
[00:58:14] * []_Cathie writes the word 'the' and the lead goes back into the pencil.
[00:58:31] * []_Cathie clicks it twice and starts writing again.
[00:58:44] * []_Cathie tears through the page halfway through her first sentence.
[00:59:27] * []_Cathie takes the page off the notebook and balls it up then picks up the pencil
[00:59:35] * []_Cathie accidentally drops it and the lead breaks.
[01:00:49] * []_Cathie clicks it two more times but the led slides back in when she presses it against the page.
[01:01:09] * []_Cathie clicks it three times and the led falls out, too short to stay in the pencil
[01:01:20] * []_Cathie picks up the lead and tries to put it back in.
[01:01:25] * []_Cathie accidentally breaks it.
[01:01:47] * []_Cathie presses the button eight times in rapid succession for another piece of lead.
[01:02:07] * []_Cathie manages to get the tip to poke out, tilts it sideways, clicks it one more time and gets the perfect length.
[01:02:30] * []_Cathie closely inspects the tip, it looks sharp. She doesn't want to cut the page again so she tries to rub it on the page to dull it.
[01:03:56] * [Multi]_Rakuo , watching Catherine's struggles after she hands off the pencil, asks "Need a hand?"
[01:03:58] * []_Cathie accidentally snaps the pencil she was too eager. "Fuck."
[01:04:19] * []_Cathie glances up. "Hmm?"
[01:04:32] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Looks like you're having some trouble.
[01:04:32] <[]_Cathie> "No, it's just annoying. Do you have a ball point pen or something?"
[01:04:38] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Yeah, sure.
[01:04:39] <[]_Cathie> "Or a marker."
[01:04:50] <[]_Cathie> "Crayons would be better."
[01:05:01] <[]_Cathie> "Blood."
[01:05:09] <[Multi]_Rakuo> I think I have a pen. I don't think I have any of that other stuff.
[01:05:14] * []_Cathie offers her the pencil back.
[01:05:23] <[Multi]_Rakuo> I mean, I have blood, but I'd rather not loan you any of that
[01:05:26] <[]_Cathie> "Colour pencils?
[01:05:39] * []_Cathie chuckles."Is this a blue pen or a black pen?"
[01:05:51] <[Multi]_Rakuo> I think I have both. Which you want?
[01:06:08] <[]_Cathie> "You're only supposed to use black pens when you write."
[01:06:40] * [Multi]_Rakuo takes her pencil back, fishes in her bag for another couple of seconds, and then withdraws a black pen, which she hands off to Catherine.
[01:09:15] * []_Cathie presses the tip against the page for a moment as she tries to recall what she was writing. When she pulls the pen away there is a nice Black blotch. She stares at it, it's distracting her. She cannot focus and thus begins making random scribbles for a few seconds before balling up the page. FILL TIPS ARE WORSE but meh. She manages to write for a while before the pen RANDOMLY decides it's out of ink but oh wait, it's just an air bubble.
[01:09:27] * []_Cathie taps the pen on the desk twenty tiems.
[01:09:29] * []_Cathie shakes it.
[01:09:40] * []_Cathie pulls open the compartment to look at the ink.
[01:10:44] <[Multi]_Rakuo> Uh, maybe you should just go get that pencil.
[01:11:02] * []_Cathie puts the pen back together then tries writing again but none of that seemed to do anything. She pulls it apart again but ends up getting ink all over her fingers when the reservoir separates from the neck. "Huh?"
[01:11:14] <[]_Cathie> "Aw fuck..."
[01:11:32] <[Multi]_Rakuo> It looks like you're having a hard time with these other writing tools. I'm guessing you sould stick to what you're comfortable with.
[01:13:28] * []_Cathie tries to put them back together for a few minutes, spilling more ink on her hands and onto the table before just giving up and rolling them onto the table top. She rips a page from her notebook and tries to clean her hands off a little.
[01:15:30] * []_Cathie rolls the paper ball across the table and it falls off the other end.
[01:17:59] * []_Cathie stands up after a moment or so of messing with the ink on her hand, moving it around with her fingers and such. She stands up then goes off to clean her hand sand get another pencil from her dorm room.
