  1. Hi both,
  2.
  3. I've been going through everything for the training and basically I think that the manuals are not good enough as they stand and it's unfair on Chrysanthi for us to expect her to be confident training next week. As we all know they were rushed and
  4. having looked back at them we basically handed them over unfinished.
  5.
  6. We were in such a rush getting everything finished last year and there were some difficulties that needed fixing and although we produced a lot of work we should be proud of, some of it was not given enough time and this is one of the things
  7. that suffered. I do not want to put Chrysanthi in a position where she's struggling because of something on our end.
  8.
  9. The way I see things right now, I do not want her to start her training with the data + GeneTek next week. The reasons for that are the manual isn't good enough and if she's just started looking at the software last week, then probably she's not very familiar with the software. This could be a bad impression that we really want to avoid.
  10.
  11. Obviously I don't think we should say all of that in an email to everyone. I think what we could say is that we feel that we must QC the data before the training that uses that data starts running properly so we're sure there's nothing weird that happened during the sequencing. We cannot totally commit to do that within this week because we have other obligations so it will need to be done next week. Based on this
  12. we continue the training next week as suggested (if chrysanthi agrees) but we don't do it all on Genetek yet, we do more general stuff and recap (I'm sure they can spend at least a week recapping linux commands etc). We then push the software training with data back giving us breathing room to actually make sure everyone is confident and all the materials are in a suitable state.
  13.
  14. I'm also very conscious of trying to break the working routine of rushing around in the same way we were Sep/Oct/Nov last year unless it's totally a necessity.
