  1. <WindStrike> *Last time on ZURPG! You escaped some guards, talked to some wonky librarian, she turned out to be pretty nice, then you talked to Xanas, he gave you your artifacts back, and struck you a deal. Get a piece of the Twilight Mirror back, and it's possible Midna may ally you, or at least not try to imprison you.
  2. <WindStrike> *Dex, you went through a different path, but ultimately ended up the same place.

  4. <WindStrike> *Supposedly, there's an Interloper with one of the Mirror Fragments in the western part of the Shadowlands, an area called the Floating Ruins.

  6. * Darte goggles at Dex. How did he not get wrecked trying to grab that fellow's eyes or something??
  7. * Corsava groans "Why does that always make me want to vomit?"
  8. * Hal also goggles at Dex (How did he get that Twili gear?)
  9. <WindStrike> *Actually, you guys look at Dex and find he's got googly eyes for eyes.
  10. <WindStrike> *Golden googly eyes.
  11. <Hal> (Description of location?)

  13. <Dex> so just look at my face description
  14. <Hal> (Of the area we are in)
  15. * Corsava blinks. "So, is it my turn to come up with a plan? Or does one of you want to take this one?"
  16. <WindStrike> *It's dark. Really dark. You can barely make sense of your bearings, though at least there's land. Above, there's that nice swirling clouds masking a permanent sunset, giving a thunderstormy twilit feel.
  17. * Hal takes out his candle, looking to illuminate the area around to get a better sense of bearings
  18. <WindStrike> *However, out to.... well, a direction you're guessing might be west... you see some floating rocks, and a full on island in the sky, though it looks to be pretty high up.
  19. <WindStrike> *Your candle helps you see Dex's googly eyes. They're..... shiny...... and googly.
  20. * Darte flicks Dex's head to see if the eyes jiggle properly.
  21. <Dex> jokes on you guys i have dark vision
  22. <WindStrike> *Anyone with Dark Vision, you see uhh.... well, a little further out, but ultimately, it doesn't do much. You can, however, confirm there's no one else in sight.
  23. * Corsava draws her trident and grins. "I missed this."
  24. <WindStrike> *There's no one around.
  25. <WindStrike> *There's no one around and your phone is dead. Out of the corner of your eye, you spot him.
  26. <WindStrike> *Shia DM- okay I'm kidding
  27. <WindStrike> wait
  29. <Darte> HE'S HERE
  30. * Hal looks around. "Careful. We don't know where interlopers are. Stay on our toes the whole time and use our Sols carefully.."
  31. * Corsava spins an arrow and watches for the direction it lands in
  32. <DM> (Note to self - add Pols. Then we can have Pols with Sols!)
  33. <DM> *The arrow flies up, then seems to levitate just slightly towards the direction of those floating rocks and that island in that one direction you're pretty sure is west.
  34. <Hal> "Interlopers will be guarding the mirror shard. We need a plan of attack here."
  35. <Dex> Kill them and take their stuff.
  36. <DM> *Oh, Dex, dark vision. You can also see the silhouette of the Twilight Palace in the distance to what you think might be north. But it's faaaar off.
  37. <Dex> A plan that works every time with no downside whatsoever.
  38. <Corsava> "Alright, well, we should stick to cover and try to avoid line of sight on their approach. If we go for ambushes and surprise attacks, we should be able to take small groups."
  39. <DM> *And it seems your Sheikah friend, upon impact with the darkness itself, has completely melded into it.
  40. <Hal> If possible, gathering prior information is needed.
  41. * Darte ponders. "I think we just fell out of the only well of information for quite a distance."
  42. <DM> *You attempt to gather prior information, but all you have is your memories and that session recap.
  43. * DM high-fives Darte.
  44. <DM> *True story bro.
  45. <Corsava> "It's up to us to survive on our wits unaided then. I'm going to follow the arrow. You should join."
  46. <Hal> We shall move towards the floating rocks and island.
  47. * Corsava sets out west
  48. <DM> *You set out to the west and finding yourself riding out into the sunset. The End.
  49. * Hal follows Corsava.

  51. <DM> *The end is still stuck on a loading screen.
  52. <Darte> "Aw crap. We gotta find the next disc."

  55. <DM> *Anywho, you gather yourselves west, and after a bit, you end up at the edge of the land itself. Ahead of you, well, and upwards, there seems to be some..... large floating rocks, and after some distance of that, the floating island. First rock seems to be... you guess around 50 feet away.
  56. <DM> *There is nothing between any of the rocks, as far as you can tell.

  82. <DM> *Dex, you are launched into the air, and then shortly afterwards, you launch Corsava!
  84. <DM> *Corsava, you completely overshoot waaaaaay past the first rock! However, you're not too far away from the second rock.
  85. <DM> *Dex, you fly into the air and.. don't.... fall? Instead, you find yourself gravitating towards the first rock. Huh. Nifty.
  86. * Corsava Air Dashes towards rock numero two
  87. <Dex> Wheee!
  88. <DM> *You safely land on the first rock. Corsava, with an Air Dash, you pull yourself towards rock 2, and you gradually gravitate towards it and land on it.

  91. * Darte shrieks, flopping like a halibut on a lure.

  100. <DM> *In fact, both Dex and Corsava, you each notice that the rocks are metallic, and any metal gear on yourselves seem to attract towards the rocks.
  101. <Darte> "Fly with what?"
  102. <DM> (METAL GEAR?!)
  103. <Hal> (Song of Soaring)
  104. <Darte> (All allomantically potent metals)
  105. * Hal has the Song of Soaring active.
  106. * Darte doesn't know if that affects him or not.
  107. * Hal is capable of flight. He can lift Darte up.
  108. <Hal> *and fly with him, like he did in the Shadow Temple
  109. <DM> *By the way, looking uhh... down, you see that same Abyss you saw at the bottom of the prison. Just a singularity of shattered ruins and whatnot. It's very pretty and mesmerizing to look at..... though you're not sure you yourself want to be a part of it.
  110. * Darte gulps and closes his eyes.

  112. * Hal flys over to Darte and picks him up before flying over to Rock #1
  113. * Corsava starts to run around the rock's hemisphere in an attempt to impart a form of motion to it
  114. <DM> *You fly over and you hover in the area momentarily, then gravitate towards the first rock and land on it.

  124. * Dex turns his Imitation Staff into another Hookshot.
  125. * Corsava attempts to spin attack as she's getting lift off of the rock

  153. <DM> *Dex and Darte, you fire outwards towards the second rock initially, then veer off to the side. However, thanks to the force of your... move... the pair of you spin around the first rock, then fly so fast, you spin around the second rock too, then fling yourselves inadvertently towards the third rock.
  154. <DM> *Hal, you fly safely from the first to the second rock. Corsava, you find yourself respawn on the second rock... and you took 10 Neutral Damage.

  156. <DM> *However, Dex and Darte, just like your poor friend Corsava before you, you find yourselves veering off to the side, and you're still another 50 feet away from the third rock.

  204. <DM> *You all see the island, 100 feet off from your position, still mostly upwards and a bit forwards. ...... there's no magnetic rocks on the other side though.
  205. <DM> *Oh, and Corsava's body, now that it's a corpse, has stopped flailing and spinning.
  206. <DM> *Oh, and as time passes, you notice the island is getting smaller. It's very slight, but it's getting smaller. Huh. I wonder if it has anything to do with Corsava's impact....
  207. * Darte wonders if he can Bait the rock.
  208. * Hal looks towards Dex and Darte "Got any ideas"
  209. <Hal> (Hal won't be screwed: Song of Soaring)

  216. * Dex places Corsava's body on the other side of the rock.

  219. * Hal makes the first move; running on the rock and aiming himself at the island in the sky.
  220. * Dex takes the trident.
  221. * Dex takes the super bombs.
  222. * Dex lays a super bomb down on top of the body and lights it. The bomb. Not the body.
  223. <DM> *Corsava, your corpse feels violated.
  224. * Dex adds in the other 2.
  225. * Darte walks away from the rock and hopes this has Super Mario Galaxy rules.
  226. * Dex hurries to a safe place to await the explosion and propulsion.
  227. <DM> *Time is now ticking! Hal has gained plenty of speed, running along with the direction of the current.
  228. <DM> *Darte, you walk off the rock, and immediately fall back on it. Not enough momentum to fall off.
  229. * Hal runs more, using his Speed Robes before finally launching off, flying with his wings.
  230. <DM> *Dex, you await on..... I guess the top spot, not quite on the opposite side.
  231. <DM> *Hal, thanks to acceleration from the current, you jump upwards at an incredible velocity and reach all the way to the top!
  232. <DM> *Moments later, you hear a very, VERY loud boom.
  233. <Hal> (If Lunaria returns, those are going to he signature abilities)
  234. <Hal> *her
  235. <Dex> loud booms are a signature ability?
  236. <Hal> (The old Twili abilities)
  237. <DM> *Turning around, you expect to see the giant rock hurtling towards you. However, thanks to the power of 3 super bombs... the rock has kindly shattered into pieces. The pieces Dex and Darte are standing on happen to launch them through the current, safely landing them on the platform near you.
  238. <DM> *Corsava, on the other hand.....
  239. <DM> *You see the rock split into tons of pieces, rotating around the current, which apparently wasn't actually tied to the rock, but floating around what once was.
  240. <Dex> Woops. Maybe I should have only used two.
  241. <DM> *They start to rotate...... and spin faster. And faster. And faster. Along with Corsava's corpse.
  242. * Hal flies to the island.
  243. <Hal> (Oh derp)
  244. <DM> *One of the pebbles escapes the current and impacts a wall next to you.
  245. * Darte continues with the popcorn. This corpse is about to have a fun day.
  246. <DM> *Nearby, on the island, you notice you're next to some ruins, and an open door into a dark hallway.
  247. <DM> *Some more pebbles fly towards you all. Everyone roll Courage to dodge!
  248. <Dex> $1d4

  276. <DM> *You notice more pebbles flying your direction. And right behind that, more flying rocks. Do you all try to escape to the ruined building nearby?

  311. <DM> *Lighting up the area, the design of the walls and floor seems similar to that of the Twilight Palace, only ruined and covered in scorch marks. There's holes in the walls that lead nowhere and holes in the ceiling that lead to SPEHSS MAHRINES- I mean SPAAAAAAAAACE.
  312. <DM> *The walls are not lit up like the Twilight Palace though, you just see the lines where they're supposed to be lit up.

  338. <DM> *To the left, the corridor heads down to another door. To the right, it leads towards a boulder, though it sounds like you can hear...... something, from the other side of it. And looking out into SPAAAAAACE in the holes in the ceiling, you see another magnetic rock floating in the air above. Right at the end of hookshot range.

  341. <DM> *The door seems unlocked, though given there's no light coming from the lines nearby..... you're not sure if it'll really open on its own.

  360. <DM> *Hal, looking up towards the rock, you see the rock rotating slowly in place. As it rotates, you see.. something.... something shiny stuck to the rock. You can't tell what it is.
  361. <DM> *Looking around, towards the end of the door that Dex/Corsava are trying to get through, it seems to lead to a very large room. From the top side of it, or what you can see from here, you see floating glass shards slowly levitating towards SPAAAAAACE above.

  363. * Hal climbs back down and inches over to where Dex is attempting to open the door and whispers "psst, there is something I need you to identify outside, can you come with me?"

  392. <DM> *Dex, your guess is correct! The lights switch from red to teal, and the gloves steadily push you away from the rock! You land fairly softly on the floor next to Hal.

  544. <DM> *Ahead, you see a large room, tilted slightly (you're starting on the bottom end, and it's only about a 20 degree slant, but it's noticeable). There's a big scope of some kind in the center of the room, surrounded by a ring of floating glass shards, very slowly rotating around the scope. You see the shards spread upwards towards the ceiling..... or lack thereof.
  545. <DM> *Hal, you recognize this as the room where the shards are floating up through the ceiling and gradually into SPAAAAAAACE.
  546. <DM> *Otherwise in this room, there's a shaft to the south, and another door to the north.
  547. <DM> *You're starting at the southeast corner.
  548. * Hal keeps Harry with him, making sure he doesn't see the shards.
  549. <DM> *Room is a bit on the dark side, but thanks to the dim light reflecting off all the shards, you can see pretty well.
  550. <DM> *Yeah, given how widespread the shards are, that's.... kinda difficult to stop him without outright preventing him from going into the room.
  551. * Dex walks over to the scope.
  552. <DM> *Dex, do you walk through the glass shards?
  553. <Dex> yes
  554. * Hal creates an Illusion of Object to imitate the door sliding back to its original position.
  555. <DM> *Alright. Since they're rotating slowly, it's not too bad. You feel some cuts passing through, taking 3 Neutral Damage, but otherwise, you get through it fine. Oddly, you're not lifting into the air like the shards are. Weird.
  556. <DM> *You inspect the scope, annnd it looks like it looks downwards, towards the direction of the Abyss. However, it's riddled with cracks and holes, and the glass inside of it has shattered. All you see looking through it is just, well.... that singularity abyss far below.

  566. <DM> *Also, now that you're in the center of the room, looking up through the hole in the ceiling, you can see another magnetic rock, larger than the previous one.

  568. <DM> *Whelp, you inadvertently walk through the shards and take the 3 Neutral Damage.
  569. <DM> *You look through the tall person scope, annnd you see the singularity of the abyss. Though, thanks to the broken glass, it's not really a scope so much as a hole in the ground.

  578. * Corsava looks through the scope
  579. <DM> *Corsava's blood.
  580. <DM> *You look through it, and you can see the Abyss as if you were point-blank to it. Individual pieces of the ruins, floating Twili bodies that have long decayed, circling the bright glowy light of the vortex.
  581. <Corsava> "Huh..."
  582. * Corsava scopes the room with it, unsure if it will do anything, but maybe it'll show some secret door or something.
  583. <DM> *You look around the room with it. No matter where you look, the thing automatically adjusts as if you're standing several feet away from whatever it's scoping onto.
  584. <DM> *Nifty.
  585. * Corsava grins. "Neat."
  586. <DM> *You're not sure how entirely useful this is yet, but it might come in handy later.
  587. * Corsava looks at the rock with it
  588. * Dex looks at the rock.
  589. * Dex jumps at it and flips his gloves to "Attract".
  590. * Darte is befuddled by the scope, instead trying to head around the room, staying outside of the zany glass shard ring.
  591. <DM> *You look at the rock, and you see another pair of Magnetic Gloves on it. You also see a... what you can only describe as a rune. Something of Twili design.
  592. <DM> *Dex, you float on over to the rock in the sky.
  593. <DM> *Darte, you get around the room just fine, and upon approaching the door at the north end, you hear, from the other side of it.... snarls. Then a faint screeching sound.
  594. * Dex grabs the gloves.
  595. * Dex looks at the rune.
  596. * Darte screeches back. Rude door.
  597. * Hal looks over to Harry and points him over to the hole in the roof.
  598. <DM> *Darte, there's silence..... then something SLAMS the door, rumbling it, followed by a VERY LOUD screech, one that echoes throughout the whole room.
  599. * Hal meanwhile casts Illusion Break while he is turned.
  600. * Hal can feel the screech echo through into the hallway
  601. <DM> *Hal, he's about to look towards the hole, when the screech suddenly causes him to put his hands over his ears and he falls to the ground, shaking.
  602. <DM> [Harry]: No, not that sound! Not again! AUUUUUGH!
  603. <DM> *Dex, the rune looks like..... it's like a small rock with something engraved on it. You don't recognize anything about it. Not even understanding Twili seems to help you understand it.
  604. * Corsava "Harry?!"
  605. <DM> [Harry]: Get the sound out..... GET IT OUT OF HERE!

  607. * Dex takes the rune.
  608. <DM> *He starts to go a tad nuts, scrambling to get out of the room, only to bounce into several walls before collapsing to the floor.
  609. <Corsava> "Tag your triggers, Door!"
  610. <DM> *You haz the rune.
  611. <DM> *Harry goes nuts.
  612. <DM> *Darte, would you like to screech back again?
  613. * Hal is puzzled at the sound, the fox knowing trouble is brewing as he puts Magic cuffs on Harry
  614. * Hal is positive something is up with him.
  615. <DM> [Harry]: Will these... keep me safe?
  616. <Hal> It will.
  617. <DM> *Whelp Dex, from up on the rock, you hear the screech too.
  618. <DM> [Harry]: I... thank you. Please, I pray to the Goddesses, stay safe.
  619. * Darte passes on the screech and attempts a soothing fish warble instead.
  620. <DM> *He drops into a prayer stance.
  621. <DM> *Darte uhh... ........ uhhhhhh
  622. <DM> *Yeah, you hear silence again, then those intermittent Interloper whispers in your head, then silence again.
  623. <DM> *There's a slight tapping sound on the door.
  624. * Hal sets an Illusion of Sound over Harry, emulating the sound of calming water droplets in a hope to drown the noise out
  625. <DM> *Harry seems more at ease, in tune with the praying and the rain sounds. You almost see a holy aura around him sheerly from the peace.
  626. * Dex waves from on top of the rock.
  627. * Corsava shrugs and waves back
  628. <DM> *Darte, being in front of the door.... you hear some stomping noises. At first quiet, then rumbling louder and louder, getting closer to you.
  629. <DM> *Would you like to continue your warble or kindly dodge out of the wave?

  631. * Darte backs away from the door at a sprint, and attempts to slide along the floor under the shardstorm.
  632. <DM> *Hey, Darte is literally Darte Fellshard, HEYOOOOOOOOOOO!
  633. * Dex aims the rock at the door.

  641. * Corsava attempts to dodgeroll like dark souls
  642. <DM> *Darte, going down, you slide through the shardstorm, zipping through it once, past Corsava, then through the shards again, taking a total of 6 Neutral Damage as you slide to the other side of the room.
  643. * Darte wonders if he can cover Corsava.

  649. <DM> *You manage to barely sidle to the side of the scope when the beast thing outright rams the scope, the shockwave from the impact sending you flying into the side, through the shardstorm at a painful rate and into a nearby wall. 10 Neutral Damage total to you.
  650. <DM> *You attempt to throw the gloves, but they just come back to you.
  651. * Dex fires the rock straight down at the beast.
  652. <DM> *Dex, the only way to position that...... you are now floating in space, though you just hookshot back to the metal rock to stay on it.
  653. <DM> *The rest of you notice the shardstorm, as the rock moves closer, moves faster and faster, expanding outwards. Hal, you're in the hallway, so you're fine. Darte, you can probably run to the hallway.
  654. * Hal equips the Magnet Gloves as he hurried Harry back into the dark room, uttering "Something's coming"
  655. <DM> *Corsava...... uhh, you might need higher level shenanigans.
  656. <DM> *Dex, as the meteor falls, you manage to throw the Magnet Gloves in time to Hal, this time the gloves escape the pull.
  657. * Darte scoots to the hallway.

  661. <DM> *Dex, the meteor finally falls, impacting that Shadow Beast HEAD-ON, APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE FOREHEAD! You hear a painfully painful screech cut through the air, then the sound of it getting drowned by the impact of the meteor. The scope is completely crushed under it, and the whirlwind of shards shockwaves the rest of the room.
  662. <DM> *The rock itself you're standing on fractures, but somehow, it stays in tact, and you yourself are fine.
  663. <DM> *In the hallway, the shards got a bit close to you guys, but you're pretty much fine.
  664. <Dex> T'was beauty that killed the beast.
  665. <DM> *Then, from the open door upon north, you hear another screeching sound, and Dex, looking towards it, you see something coming fast.
  666. <DM> *You mistake it for a Shadow Beast, but it draws in close, and you recognize it, leaping at you...
