- -I liked the CGI for the Pokémon; There wasn't any one design in particular that I had huge gripes about (The Ditto design was kinda weird though)
- -I really liked the worldbuilding that they did, but I felt that they could've taken it further.
- -Justice Smith did a good job playing the main character. Ryan Reynolds also did a good job playing Pikachu. I have no specific gripes about any of the other actors'/actresses' performances.
- -Going back to the point about worldbuilding (and some critics' reviews pointed this out too), the plot felt like a standard detective movie. It was still pretty good in my opinion, don't get me wrong, but it still felt a little cliched and predictable.
- -There was no appearance of Team Rocket or an evil team whatsoever, which to me is surprising given that such evil teams are virtually central to the plot of anything Pokémon-related.
- Personal Score: 8.5/10
- tl;dr The best movie adaptation of a video game ever made, would be down for several sequels in this live-action mixed with CGI style
