  35. Il 2 novembre 1983 la madre di Dean e Sam Winchester, Mary, perde la vita uccisa da un demone che incendia la loro casa. Il padre dei due bambini, John, inizia a educare i figli alla caccia del soprannaturale con lo scopo di trovare la creatura che uccise sua moglie e vendicarsene. Dean, il più grande dei due fratelli, segue alla lettera gli ordini del padre e passa l'infanzia a proteggere il fratello Sam, che invece dopo il liceo decide di abbandonare la caccia e di andare all'università.
