9 Maids Session #6

<[Rut]NotTheGM>	[It's hard to say how long it's been. There is no sun in the sky, but the light hasn't changed since you first arrived in this place. Were you to look at a watch, it would tell you that you've been going towards the distant, silver objects on the horizon for nearly 16 hours. The muggy climate wears heavy, and your ATV putters, burning it's last few trickles of gas.]
* [9]Violet	slaps the side of the vehicle.
<[9]Violet>	Hey, come on! Move, moooove!
* [par]Castella	gets up after having passed out during the trip through the portal
<[par]Castella>	"Wha-?"
<[Rut]NotTheGM>	[You halt. The cages clatter behind you as if to protest the holdup. It's dead, Jim.]
* [Tess]Lexa	nodded off a while back, and though she stirs a bit at the vehicle's change in motion she doesn't wake up.
<[9]Violet>	...I doubt there's a gas station here, huh?
<[par]Castella> "What happened?"
* [par]Castella looks around, disoriented
* [BNS]Maria looks down at the vehicle and ponders...
* [9]Violet sighs and leans back.
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [There's a silhouette a bit further out.]
<Alicel> ..Sorry... I didn't think it would require gas so sooon.....
* [BNS]Maria hops from her perch and hovers in the air above the others
* [9]Violet starts slapping the side of the vehicle.
<[9]Violet> It's hooooot! Now there's no air conditioning, and we still haven't found Stellaaaaa!
<[par]Castella> "Mistress I don't think that would help."
* [9]Violet shoots a glare at Castella.
<[9]Violet> Shut up.
* [Owen]Kitkat is off in the distance, following the vehicle's tracks.  A good eye might spot her at this range, but probably not.
* [par]Castella frowns
<[par]Castella> "We should start walking if you want this over sooner."
* [Owen]Kitkat , for the sake of the plot, was extremely lazy and late in hopping through the portal.  We'll say that, yes.
* [9]Violet looks off into the distance and spots a silhouette.
<[9]Violet> ...Heeey, what's that?
* [9]Violet points.
* [BNS]Maria squints at where Violet is pointin
<[par]Castella> "I'll investigate it."
* [par]Castella gets up and goes to fly over
* [BNS]Maria sees who it is, rolls her eyes, then poofs, getting there way before Castella
* [Tess]Lexa finallly begins to wake up, stretching and sitting up.
* [Owen]Kitkat draws nearer.  She's wearing her laboratory goggles to protect her eyes from the harsh sun and dust.  Seems she's got a pack with her too.
* [Owen]Kitkat might be more discernible now if someone were to see her through the desert heatwaves.
* [Mys]Shylock goes off to try to find some natives... kind of...
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [There's a weathered sign -- like a road sign, painted over with primer and then written on. It reads: "Beware of antlions". Below it is what appears to be a human femur and tibia, tied together into a cross. A sign lower down on the pole reads, "Here lie Jeff", with "jeffs a faget" written in smaller, red letters below it. Another silhouette is far ahead, and this one seems to be moving.]
* [BNS]Maria coughs as she appears behind Kitkat
* [Owen]Kitkat expects something that is not that!
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Nnyah!"
* [Owen]Kitkat spins around and does a reflexive cat punch!
* [Owen]Kitkat is a failure of a cat, or that was a failure of a punch!  It's very wimpy.
* [par]Castella frowns when she sees the sign's graffiti and wipes off "jeffs a faget" people should respect the dead. She flies back to the car
* [BNS]Maria is caught off-guard, but barely feels a thing as the catgirl thrusts her fist into Maria's face
* [Owen]Kitkat realizes that it's Maria!
<[BNS]Maria> ...are you done?
* [Tess]Lexa rubs the sleep out of her eyes. Something's happening, right?
<[par]Castella> "Mistress its a sign warning of 'antlions.'  If you desire I could fly and carry you so that you are not inconvienced by them."
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Oh!  Nyah, geez, I'mya sorrrrry, Marrrria!"
<[Owen]Kitkat> "I didn't expect to see myew herrre!"
* [Owen]Kitkat is all sorry and bashful!
* [9]Violet shrugs.
<[9]Violet> Let's wait for Maria to get back, and then go look at it.
<[par]Castella> "As you desire, Mistress."
* [BNS]Maria rolls her eyes, grabs Kitkat by the wrist of the arm she threw the punch with, then poofs the two of them back to the group.
* [par]Castella bows
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Gwwaaayyhh!  What's happenying?!"
* [BNS]Maria lets go of Kitkat
* [Tess]Lexa gets up and cracks her spine in several places, just as- wait, what?
<[BNS]Maria> Oh come on, you should be used to this by now.
<[Tess]Lexa> Um... hi there.
* [Owen]Kitkat jumps around like an idiot before realizing that she's with the group now.
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Oh... nyeverrrr miinnnd~"
* [9]Violet points the other way.
<[9]Violet> Castella saw a sign warning about antlions or something over there.
* [Owen]Kitkat is vaguely indignant!
<[BNS]Maria> ...ant lions?
<[9]Violet> It's more interesting than just searching the desert, so we can go see what that means.
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Hey!  Why'd all y'alls leave without telling meeow?!"
* [9]Violet turns to Castella and holds her arms up, looking like a child that wants to be picked up.
<[Owen]Kitkat> "I wasn't lonely orrrr nothingyah, but... still!"
<[9]Violet> Come on, I don't want to be on the ground over there!
* [par]Castella smiles and picks Violet up
* [BNS]Maria frowns at Castella
* [Owen]Kitkat folds her arms and goes :T
* [Tess]Lexa stands on the highest surface she can find, reaches up and pets Kitkat.
* [Owen]Kitkat still goes :T whilst being petted, because it's funnier that way.
* [9]Violet points towards the sign in the distance.
<[9]Violet> Okay, let's gooo!
* [par]Castella takes off towards the swing
<[par]Castella> sing
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Y'all arrrre as crrrazy as meeow.  Just wannyah make surrre you knyow that."
* [Tess]Lexa shrugs and gets down from her perch.
* [Owen]Kitkat pets Lexa's head just for good measure.
* [par]Castella hovers near the sign for Violet to see
<[Owen]Kitkat> "I've completely forrrrgotten who you arrrre, girrrrl-personyah."
<[Owen]Kitkat> "But hi."
* [Tess]Lexa hums in appreciation of the gesture, then looks up at Kitkat to answer.
<[9]Violet> ...Hmm.
<[Tess]Lexa> Alexandria C. Gettler! I'm a toxicologist, what about you?
* [9]Violet waves at the others.
<[9]Violet> Come oooon!
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Kit Kat!  I'm an explosive ordinance scientist!"
<[Owen]Kitkat> "AND a doctor!"
* [par]Castella sighs
<[par]Castella> "Must we wait for them?  Maria can catch up in an instant."
<[Owen]Kitkat> "So it's okay if I blow myself up!"
* [BNS]Maria is following as she slowly flies through the air alongside Castella
<[9]Violet> It'd be better to not get separated, right?
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [You're at the sign. The part Castella wiped off is visible as a reddish smudge. The figure in the distance is nearly out of sight.]
<[par]Castella> "You're right."
<[Tess]Lexa> Excellent! I like you a lot more now!
* [par]Castella shakes her head
* [Owen]Kitkat nods.
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Meeow too!"
* [Owen]Kitkat wanders over to the rest of the group and takes off her goggles to wipe them on her labcoat.
* Alicel shakes out of her reverie..ooh.. stars.
* [Tess]Lexa grins and follows after Kitkat.
* [BNS]Maria squints to try to see what that dot in the distance is, but to no avail
<[9]Violet> Well, everyone's following now.
<[9]Violet> So, follow that speck in the distance!
* [Owen]Kitkat squints at the speck in the distance.
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Why?"
* [BNS]Maria glares at Kitkat
<[BNS]Maria> Because Master said so. You shouldn't need another reason.
<[9]Violet> I said so!
* [par]Castella nods and flies towards it
<[par]Castella> "Of course mistress."
* [Owen]Kitkat thumbs-up.
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Cool."
* Alicel sighs and walks torwards it as she wipes off her beads of sweat.
* [9]Violet turns her nose up.
* [Owen]Kitkat puts her goggles back on, hikes up her backpack, and merrily skips forwards.
* [Mys]Shylock notices the grounds look uneven and disturbed out past the sign...
 [Mys]Shylock continues her journey into the waste land. The hero blanket girl knows no fear!
* [Mys]Shylock hums her themesong as she continues her trek to find natives to commune with. She's particularly high spirited today~
* [Mys]Shylock mostly
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [The speck is... a speck. It could probably be a figure, maybe possibly. Oh, and also, a funny sheet-lump makes it's way forward off to the group's side.]
* [Tess]Lexa walks along with the rest, looking like she's spacing out.
* [Owen]Kitkat turns her head back to Violet.
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Hey, what's this speck anyways, nyah?"
<[9]Violet> No idea~
<Alicel> I suppose its better than nothing?
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [As you near it, you confirm that it is, in fact, a person. He/she is draped in a cloak and-- OHGODEARTHQUAKE]
<Alicel> ...!
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Hey, what's this--NYAAH EARRRTHSHAKE!"
* [Owen]Kitkat is on all fours!
* [par]Castella hovers in the air and looks at her companions, unsure how to help
<[par]Castella> "Uh... orders, Mistress?"
* [BNS]Maria is startled and looks down towards the rest of the group
* [9]Violet shrugs.
<[9]Violet> I'm not down there, so I don't really care.
<[par]Castella> "Okay..."
* [par]Castella continues flying towards the figure
* [Owen]Kitkat cannot withstand the MASSIVE TREMORS!  She's buffeted by seismic waves and flops around on the ground!
<[BNS]Maria> !
* Alicel manages to stand her ground but she wobbles a little.
* [Tess]Lexa stumbles around but doesn't fall over, getting the hang of the tremors within a few moments.
* [Mys]Shylock uses her specially patented Blanket Maneuver to ride out this rumble! Blanket girl is always prepared!
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [A geyser of gravel erupts in the distance. Then another. Two hairy, bug-like grotesques, each some ten feet in length and armed with fearsome mandibles, leap into the sky and bear down on the figure, tearing it's cloak to pieces. One of them flings it towards you effortlessly. STELLA.]
<[9]Violet> Oh~!
<[9]Violet> Castella, pick her up!
<[BNS]Maria> Oh no...
* [Owen]Kitkat sees none of this!  Her eyes!  The goggles do nothing!
<[par]Castella> "Uh!  Uh...!"
* [Mys]Shylock sees locals. Asside from being vicious man eating sorts, Blanket girl set out to COMMUNE and that is what she plans on doing!
* [par]Castella thinks fast and holds Vilolet by her pants waist line and then holds out an arm for STELLA
* [BNS]Maria flies as fast as she can over to STELLA's side
<Alicel> ...no way!
* Alicel runs with her two human feet.
<[9]Violet> Uwaaaah!
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Nyah!  Big help herrrre?!"
* [Mys]Shylock communes~
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [The monsters... are gone? The ground shakes again...]
<[BNS]Maria> STELLA!
* Alicel fires at them.. but... its too late...
<Alicel> ...tch.
* [Tess]Lexa drops down and tries to get the bigger girl off of the ground, though she can't really get her to balance.
* [BNS]Maria kneels down next to STELLA, shaking her by the shoulders
<[BNS]Maria> Robot! Wake up! Time to move!
<[BNS]Maria> That's an order!
* [Owen]Kitkat jumps back to her feet!  Huttah!  What the crrrrap is going on?
<Alicel> I strongly suggest we keep moving Maria... they could come out any minute now....
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Status rrrreporrrrrt, anyone?"
* [Tess]Lexa rushes off to where the others are, hoping to make sense of things there.
<[Owen]Kitkat> "What just happened?"
* Alicel angles her gun towards the ground.
* [Owen]Kitkat looks around.  Oh look, a robot!  Where'd she come from?  She runs over to provide AID!
* [BNS]Maria gets frustrated and just slings STELLA over her shoulder, then jumps up into the air, struggling slightly to keep aloft
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [Shylock attempt to commune, but nothing happens... at first. Then one of the emerges directly under her! SHORYUKEN!]
* [par]Castella overshoots where Stella was when Maria picks the robot up. She comes to a screeching halt mid air but keeps a tight grip on Violet's pants
* [Owen]Kitkat just looks up at all the flying people and sighs.
* [Tess]Lexa draws her launcher and hastily begins to assemble it, loading it with one of her more dangerous canisters.
<[BNS]Maria> We need to keep moving! Hurry!
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Well arrrrren't you all just syooo special!"
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [Another one rockets into the air, bearing straight up at Castella and her passenger.]
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Waaah!  Bad guys, bad guys!"
<[BNS]Maria> Gyah!!
* [Tess]Lexa scurries back to where Kitkat is. Best not to be caught alone here!
* [par]Castella tries to scramble out of the way, still tugging Violet by her pants
<[par]Castella> "AH!
* [Owen]Kitkat grabs who knows what kind of bomb from her pocket and lights it, slinging it towards the monster!
<[9]Violet> G-g-go faster! Don't let that thing get us!
<[Owen]Kitkat> "I solve my prrrroblems with violence!  NYAH!"
* [Mys]Shylock takes a headbutt and uses the momentum to heft herself on the creatures back. Blanket girl barely taking no damage from her new friend/enemy!
<Alicel> Aha.... found you..
* Alicel lets out a barrage of lead into the beast!
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [The bug is blasted out of the air and riddled with holes! The jaws try to close on Castella -- the last impulse from it's pseudo-brain -- but it misses and flies past them. Another one leaps from the ground!]
* [par]Castella flies for the sign and doesn't look back
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Gwah, Alex-lady, you gotta get faster fast!"
<Alicel> ...too soon...  Must... reload!
* [Owen]Kitkat scampers away from the new creature for safety purposes!
* [Tess]Lexa whirls on her heel and takes aim quickly as she runs backwards, firing at the bug. The canister strikes spot on, bursting through the carapace and releasing a rainbow-making cloud.
* [Owen]Kitkat cheers energetically.
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [The bug screeches (as much as a bug can) and hits the ground with a thud.]
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Heck yeahs!  Prrrrretty colorrrrs!"
* Alicel gets pelted by its vicuous insides...ew..
<[Tess]Lexa> Don't breathe that!
* [Owen]Kitkat shurgs, moving forwards as the danger appears to me over.
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Myeh... I've breathed worrrrse.  Make all my ownyah bombs, ya know!"
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [Shylock communes with the antlion as it arcs through the air like some kind of dolphin rider! But she gets the feeling it's sole thoughts are about eating and laying eggs inside something warm and wet. It dive back down at the ground again...]
<[Tess]Lexa> No you haven't! That's full of dissolved mercury salts! You fool!
* [BNS]Maria meanwhile, has landed and is attempting to awaken STELLA!
* [Mys]Shylock wheeeee~
* Alicel takes step back torwards where Violet and Castella are.
* [Owen]Kitkat giggles and thumbs at her unimpressively flat chest.
* [9]Violet jumps onto the ground and watches Shylock.
<[9]Violet> ...When did she get here, and when did she become so bold...?
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Bwah, that's just cyause you'rrrrre a girrrl!  I'm a cat, so nyeh nyeh nyeh!"
* [BNS]Maria panics as her attempts seem to be in vain...
* [Owen]Kitkat goes :P at Alexa.
<[BNS]Maria> M-Master! Come quick!
* [par]Castella double takes when violet isn't in her grip anymore and looks at her hand to make sure the pants aren't still ther
* [9]Violet runs over to Maria.
<[9]Violet> ...Ah, right.
<[Tess]Lexa> Idiot! Mercury poisoning is just as bad for you!
<[BNS]Maria> She's not moving...
* [par]Castella flies over next to Violet
<[Tess]Lexa> Gaa!
<[9]Violet> Maria, help me!
* Alicel walks where everyone else seems toe be walking.
* [9]Violet raises a hand.
* [Tess]Lexa is quite exasperated.
<[par]Castella> "What do you need help with mistress?"
* [BNS]Maria looks over at Violet, somewhat confused and still quite distressed
* [Owen]Kitkat gives up.  Clearly Lexa is as awesome as her.  She juggles a pair of bombs in one hand as she walks over to all the commotion.
* [Tess]Lexa is relieved as Kitkat moves away from where the cloud was, and runs to everyone else. So they found her...
<[Rut]STELLA> ... Ragdoll.pcl has completed its operations. R E B O O T I N G ... ... ...
* [9]Violet takes Maria's hand in her own, and... Brings their hands down on STELLA's cheeks! Slap slap slap slap!
* [Rut]STELLA 's eyes flicker open abruptly.
<[Rut]STELLA> ... !
<[BNS]Maria> !
<[9]Violet> Aha, it worked!
* [BNS]Maria is shocked that that actually worked
<[Owen]Kitkat> "Hey y'all, what's gyoing on?  What happened to Stellabot?"
<Alicel> She's.. back now... I think?
<[Tess]Lexa> Well, she'd disappeared and... now we found her... and... this?
* Alicel looks with a sight of relief.
* [BNS]Maria glares at STELLA
* [Owen]Kitkat just shakes her head.  This is what she gets for being late.
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [The bug burrows back into the ground. Shylock plops, escaping with little more than skinned knees.]
* [Mys]Shylock owies...
<[BNS]Maria> Y-you stupid robot! What did you think you were doing running off here all by yourself! And worse, you've put the Master in danger! I've never seen such irresponsible bluh bluh bluh...
<[par]Castella> "Well thank the boss that's over."
<[Rut]STELLA> Wh... wha... I did not...
* [BNS]Maria continues on ranting as she pounds on the robot, her vicious blows barely affecting her.
* [9]Violet blinks and spots Shylock... And ditches the scene to chase her down!
<[BNS]Maria> [=-= pounds]
<[Rut]STELLA> No...
* Alicel pats STELLA on the head.
<[par]Castella> "M-mistress!"
* [par]Castella follows after Violet
* [Owen]Kitkat sits down and checks in her backpack.  Did she remember to bring her laptop and diagnostic cable?
* [Mys]Shylock wanders away to find a solution to her new friend/enemies woes. Blanket girl must succeed!
<[Rut]STELLA> This wasn't supposed to... you should not be in the neighborhood!
* [9]Violet loses sight of the girl and sighs.
* [Rut]STELLA scrambles to her feet.
<[BNS]Maria> Stupid robot! What did you think was going to happen when we found out? We can't have you running off like this! Stupid stupid robot!
<Alicel> We were supposed to be looking for you since you were gone too long....
* [par]Castella catches up to Violet and frowns
<[par]Castella> "Is there something I can do to improve your mood, Mistress?"
* [Owen]Kitkat snaps her fingers.  Dang, left them at home.  Not even a little cell-phone deal...
<[9]Violet> I wanted to catch her, but... Oh well.
* [9]Violet turns around and walks back to where STELLA is.
<[Rut]STELLA> N-no! SHUT IT!
* [Rut]STELLA shouts at Maria. She's never done that before.
<[BNS]Maria> !!
<[9]Violet> Oh, my.
<[Rut]STELLA> You are not welcome! Go back to where you came from!
* [BNS]Maria suddenly draws back... she's shocked that STELLA actually responded to one of her tirades!
* [par]Castella follows Violet still
* [9]Violet stops in front of STELLA.
<[BNS]Maria> Y-you know I can't do that. Master ordered me...
* Alicel blinks for a moment...did she.. just told Maria off?...
<[9]Violet> ...We aren't going back until the portal's about to close.
<[Rut]STELLA> M-master, you said you were not...
* [Owen]Kitkat scratches her head.  Does not compute, maybe?
* [9]Violet grins.
<[9]Violet> You said you'd make a cake, and you didn't keep that promise!
* [Rut]STELLA looks at the ground.
<[9]Violet> So, I figured I could break one too.
<[Rut]STELLA> ... That is some truth... B-but...
<Alicel> ...we can chastise her later Master.
* [Rut]STELLA appears... off.
<[BNS]Maria> And... and look at what happened! If we weren't here, you might have...!
<Alicel> But.. have you done what you came here to do STELLA?...
* [BNS]Maria goes quiet.
<[Rut]STELLA> Not at this time...
* [9]Violet holds a hand out to help STELLA up.
<[9]Violet> We'll help you, since we're already here.
<[9]Violet> Come on.
<[par]Castella> "If we're stuck here anyway, I can't refuse."
* Alicel attends to Maria and pats her head.
<Alicel> Hey.. she's back at least so we have that worry off our mind now.
<[Rut]STELLA> ...
* [Tess]Lexa takes a deep breath and falls on her rear, suddenly feeling rather tired.
* [Rut]STELLA takes Violet's hand. Though she is a droid, her eyes are tearing up...
* [9]Violet pulls her up, struggling as she does.
* [Owen]Kitkat isn't one for butting into complicated discussions.  She sees if she can try and cobble up a makeshift hat from the random supplies in her bag.
* [Tess]Lexa slows down her breathing and calms down, obviously quite tired from pulling stunts like that just after waking up.
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [... One of the things pokes it's head above ground and stares at Shylock, unable to deduce whether or not she is edible.]
* [Mys]Shylock communes with the friend/enemy.
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [The antlion attempts to nibble her arm.]
* [Mys]Shylock proffers her arm for nibbling purposes. Perhaps this will earn it's trust?
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [It tries to drag her underground. Shylock stubs one of her fingers. It pops it's head back out, confused.]
* Alicel lets go.. man.. Maria is really taking it hard this time and leaves her alone for the time being.
* [Mys]Shylock attempts to pet the adorable/hideous thing.
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [The antlion bites the hand that feeds it.]
<Alicel> So.. Master.. what shall we do now?
* [BNS]Maria stands up and starts looking around
* [Rut]STELLA remains quiet.
* [Mys]Shylock ow~
<[Rut]STELLA> ... Not supposed to...
<[BNS]Maria> Master, we should really find a place to camp for the night...
<[9]Violet> Yeah, I guess.
* [9]Violet looks around.
<[par]Castella> "We might even have to rely on eachother for warmth, desert nights are freezing as well at their other harshness."
* [Tess]Lexa gets back up, looking better but still sluggish.
<[Tess]Lexa> You sure there'll be such a thing as night?
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [Om nom nom. It hurts, but at least Shylock is keeping her arm. If it were wholeheartedly trying to devour her, it would have snapped straight through.]
<[par]Castella> "Well we should err on the side of caution."
<[Rut]STELLA> ... Um, well, if you are staying, then I am also with you!
<Alicel> ...did we even bring anything to set up Camp?...
* Alicel thinks about it.
<[Rut]STELLA> Why, we oughta move up, though. Insects of unsual size abound, here!
* [Rut]STELLA smiles. Fake and transparent.
* Alicel nods.
* [Mys]Shylock that kind of... tickles?
<Alicel> You know this place better than all of us so....
* [Mys]Shylock enjoys this heart warming moment of not being devoured...
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [The antlion seems to be content with gnawing Shylock constantly. It's starting to break skin, though. Slightly more complex thoughts start to enter it's tiny brain. Chew food swallow food not swallow food chew chew chew not food chew lay eggs not food not swallow chew...
<[Rut]NotTheGM> ]
* [Owen]Kitkat gets bored and finds a sizeable boulder to rest in the shade of.
<[Rut]NotTheGM> [The landscape looks quite barren... but something far off catches Maria's eye. It looks like a little, natural hovel of rock, about eight feet in height and just wide enough to create and encircle a campfire in.]
<[BNS]Maria> Master, that way.
* [BNS]Maria points
* [9]Violet nods and takes off towards the new shelter.
* [Tess]Lexa puts her hand over her eyes and looks, eager at the chance to be on the same page with everyone else.
* [BNS]Maria follows Violet closely
* [par]Castella follows
* Alicel nods and goes along.
* [Owen]Kitkat probably follows later at a point that occurs before the next plot-relevant thing happens.
