Imeri Artifical Eye Experiments

This is follow up to the Vareline - Artificial Eye covering experiments over creating working prototypes and reducing death ratio of patients operated on.

Imeri sighed quietly and leaned against her husband, clearly looking exhusted after hours of such complicated progress, glad that it as already over and that it appeared everthing went welll. She smiled to herself quietly and closed her eyes while trying to remember how many years filled with experiments and research she needed finally reach this point.

 To think that everything began as I worked over the golems...funny.

She thought to herself. She remembered when a wild thought began to crawl around her mind involving any possible other ways that she could have used her runic knowledge to help the others. During one of the runic inscribtion processes the portion of golems head cracked and crumbled apart, separating the eye piece form rest of the head.

Imeri remembered as she picked the piece up while cleaning the mess, she remembered the way she stared at it with confusion until another idea sparked inside of her head.

 Interesting...what if I could replicate the possibility of creating prosthetic limbs though to restore someones lost sight...like for Vareline perhaps....

She smiled  faintly upon the thought,she always felt sorry about her sister and the fact that she was forced to live her life without even truthuly seeing her own famiy. She wanted to change it and that small piece of golems eye gave her idea of she could possibly do it.

With her mind set, Imeri moved towards basic blueprints involving hours of research over finding all runes that would represnt colored vision, depth perception and become capable of changing the information towards the brain. WIth such complex inscribtion needed, the research lengthened from hours to days, which slowly turned into weeks and finally months or constant research until she found result that satisifed her.

After completing her blueprints Imeri moved on towards slow and frustrating process of finding right material that would fit as artifical runic eye without threatening their users health or even life. Unlike with runes, witch found perfect material just in couple of hours. After that came creation of said prototypes, unlike with golems the artifical eyes needed more time to have their runes encarved due to size of each of them, followed by need to find way to fit muscles, nerves and veins into right places to make the eyes work.

She placed most of her focus on working over the runic eye prototype, taking her time to complete the process of encarving the runes before eciding to move on finding suitable test subjects. She didn't want to risk health of anyone she cared about and so instead she decided to attempt to use lesser and greater yokais as first types of test subjects. She spent few months experimenting with yokais she captured over the time, finding only dissapointement in her research and instead she decided to move on towards using more humanoid species as possible tests subjects.

Similarly as before she didn't want to use anyone innocent and anyone she cared about which left her with possibility to use captured bandits and thiefs that were unfortune enough to get cought by Imeri or any local Arbitrators stationed within Frostvale. Unlike with yokai, the experiments with bandits and theifs were bringing annoying issue, first unlucky ones to end up as gueniea pigs of her experiments ended up dead for some reason.

She required another moths to slowly come to conclusion that their death was caused by her bodies dying from infections that they cought during the surgeries. She was close to making breakthrough in her research with that knowledge until the day when her golems went on rampage, halting her progress with most of her research notes geting lost and with official ban from Talarin to perform any more experiments within Frostvale.

Imeri required few years to return to her work, now outside of the town in far more primitive and far less sterile surrounding like one of the tree houses found within Wychwood forest. She resumed her research and experiments first involved finding an way to reduce the chances of possible infections during and after the surgery to minimum.

With bandits roaming the wilds Imeri had more than enough test subjects to resume her work. With far less things to worry about and enough subjects to experiment with, the witch slowly way not only increase survivability of the surgery but also managed to test the eyes with results exceeding her expectations. The eyes workedand while questioned each of captured subjects stated that they didn't feel or ee any difference while using the runic eyes, giving Imeri hope that she was able to successfuly perform surgery on her sister and soon restore her sight.
