“Wow, that’s a lot.” One of the assistants exchanged glances with
Professor Tabata, then turned to the villagers and yelled, “Please don’t use
any water from this well for the time being. It’s quite dangerous . . .”
The villagers let out a cry. “What’re we supposed to do then?” They
sounded distressed.
“How strange,” Professor Tabata commented, cocking his head to the
side with curiosity. “Why’s this well the only place around here where we
detect radiation?”
