Backstory: Nayoko barely remembers life in Japan, as her parents moved when she was very young. Her mother, a botanist, had gotten a very good opportunity in Hawaii and her parents liked it enough they simply stayed there. Nayoko's grown up around plants, with her hands frequently on something to draw with. At first, her parents raised her as a boy but when she finally told them she wasn't one (which wasn't easy since she didn't want to upset them), they awkwardly switched gears.

She was put on hormone blockers to delay her puberty, but a final decision on taking estrogen is waiting for her to become older. In the meantime, she's been practicing her art, a lot of which features the abundant greenery around her.

Personality: She tends to be a bit of a space case, with her hands holding a book when they aren't holding a paint brush or pen. She's fairly earnest about trying to be a good child, a good girl, a good person in general. However, her shyness and caution can get in the way.
