  1. K: Hello everyone, this fabulous story we have up for sale is entitled “Harrison Bergeron”.
  2. A: Yes, this story is an interesting one. It takes place in the future, the year 2081. Under a new law, everyone must be equal before one another.
  3. J: That means that everyone has the same IQ, no person is more athletic than another, and no one is weaker than anyone else.
  4. H: For those of you who forgot what happened in here, we’ll quickly summarize it. Two of the protagonists had their son, Harrison, taken away from them at an early age. This was because the government deemed he was too “dangerous” since he had qualities that made him better than everyone else.
  5. W: In order to make him equal to everyone else, they imprisoned him and gave him various handicaps that accomplish many things, such as limiting his movement eyesight.
  6. K: Harrison’s parents also have handicaps on them. Since his father was smarter than the average man, he had a tiny earphone that scrambled his thoughts on a regular basis.
  7. A: They aren’t the only people who have them though. Nearly everyone in the place has a specific handicap, which pretty much made everyone equal.
  8. H: However, Harrison proved to be too mighty for his handicaps. He eventually broke free of them and tried to release everyone else from their handicaps too.
  9. J: Unfortunately, removing handicaps is a crime and if you commit a crime, you obviously have to suffer the consequences. Harrison was shot down by a handicap general soon after he broke free of his handicaps, and died almost immediately.
  10. K: His parents saw the whole thing on TV, but Harrison’s father didn’t realize what happened because his thoughts were scrambled at the end.
