  1. Ileia hugs Taleek, getting a smile in return.
  2.
  3. Ileia hugs you, and you wrap your arms around her with a warm smile.
  4.
  5. You hug Ileia who gives you a smile in return. A faint scent of jasmine clings to her skin.
  6.
  7. With eloquent gestures and a wry series of humorous anecdotes, Taleek shows you exactly how to improve your skill at hiding.
  8.
  9. Taleek asks, "Leaving me luv?"
  10.
  11. Ileia says, "I'm going to find a nice spot and get ready for sleep."
  12.
  13. Ileia nods to Taleek.
  14.
  15. Ileia says, "See you both soon."
  16.
  17. You wave to Ileia.

  22. >l
  23. [Shard, North Entrance of The Great Tower]
  24. A high plaster wall marks the end of Diamond Street, the road narrowing down until it splits into three parts. One leads up to a sweeping marble archway, while the other two paths circumvent the barrier. The night reflects off the tower's polished surface, blurring its outline until it seems to melt into the stars. You also see a red moonbeam, a troll-claw necklace, a bronze dragon pin, a troll-claw necklace, a wooden dragon figurine, a grey troll skin, a sullen Shadow Servant, and a plain origami bird.
  25. Also here: Professor Taleek.
  26. Obvious paths: north, northeast, east, west, northwest.
  27.
  28. You softly say, "Everyone always gets tired far too soon."
  29.
  30. You sigh.
  31.
  32. Taleek says, "I agree."
  33.
  34. A sullen Shadow Servant trudges off, following its master.
  35. You happen to sense a Yavash moonbeam moving away from the area.
  36.
  37. You softly ask, "Now what do we do?"
  38.
  39. You ponder.
  40.
  41. Taleek says, "Good question."
  42.
  43. You softly say, "There needs to be some sort of place built that would provide amusement at all times around here..."
  44.
  45. Taleek says, "That would be crossing."
  46.
  47. You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement.
  48.
  49. You softly say, "I suppose so."
  50.
  51. Taleek leans on you.
  52.
  53. You smile at Taleek.
  54.
  55. You softly ask, "So.... What do you do for entertainment?"
  56.
  57. Taleek ponders.
  58.
  59. Taleek says, "I dont think it's wise to speak of it."
  60.
  61. You laugh!
  62.
  63. You softly ask, "Why not? Would it be too hard on my virgin ears?"
  64.
  65. You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement.
  66.
  67. Taleek says, "On someones."
  68.
  69. You chortle softly at some secret joke.
  70.
  71. You softly say, "Now I am curious."
  72.
  73. You lean on Taleek.
  74.
  75. Mage Xelten just arrived.
  76.
  77. Xelten smiles.
  78.
  79. You softly say, "Oh.... you are back."
  80.
  81. Xelten casually observes the area.
  82.
  83. Xibar slowly rises above the horizon.
  84.
  85. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Yes, though Ileia and her friend seem to have vanished."
  86.
  87. You give a slight nod.
  88.
  89. You softly say, "They left a while ago, actually."
  90.
  91. Xelten nods.
  92.
  93. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Has it fallen silent again then?"
  94.
  95. You softly say, "Seems so. Taleek and I were just talking about entertainment."
  96.
  97. You lean on Taleek.
  98.
  99. Taleek says, "Which would be the crossing."
  100.
  101. Taleek nods.
  102.
  103. You give a slight nod.
  104.
  105. You softly say, "Since clearly there is none around here."
  106.
  107. You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement.
  108.
  109. Xelten smiles slightly.
  110.
  111. Your red ruby on your forehead glows hotly.
  112.
  113. You softly say, "I was thinking we should find a way to create some."
  114.
  115. You shrug.
  116.
  117. Yavash sets, slowly dropping below the horizon.
  118.
  119. Taleek says, "We could tackle a trader and watch them flop."
  120.
  121. You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement.
  122.
  123. You softly ask, "Do they flop when you tackle them?"
  124.
  125. Xelten says in Ilithic, "There is that hunt we had intended to do."
  126.
  127. You glance at Xelten. His features are hard to make out.
  128.
  129. Listening carefully as Taleek expounds on the finer details of hiding, you gradually see the light.
  130.
  131. You softly say, "I suppose..."
  132.
  133. You nibble your lip thoughtfully.
  134.
  135. Geoffery just arrived.
  136. Geoffery just went northwest.
  137. Geoffery just arrived.
  138. Geoffery just went northeast.
  139.
  140. A shadow spreads across Xelten's face from his circle of obsidian, briefly conquering the light before all returns to normal.
  141.
  142. You softly say, "I was just thinking... there might be something else we could do... before that..."
  143.
  144. You smile slightly.
  145.
  146. Xelten raises an eyebrow.
  147.
  148. You softly say, "That was a trader..."
  149.
  150. You gaze off to the northeast.
  151.
  152. Taleek asks, "I missed one?"
  153.
  154. You nod to Taleek.
  155.
  156. Taleek makes a grunting noise.
  157.
  158. You softly say, "Perhaps there will be another."
  159.
  160. You nod to Taleek.
  161.
  162. Xelten drums his fingers on his sword belt.
  163.
  164. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I'll be in the Barrows then."
  165.
  166. Xelten smiles.
  167.
  168. Taleek says, "Maybe I should position myself better for the next one."
  169.
  170. You glance at Xelten. His features are hard to make out.
  171.
  172. You softly ask Xelten, "You do not want to stay?"
  173.
  174. Xelten says in Ilithic, "It is not my element."
  175.
  176. You gaze at Xelten.
  177.
  178. You softly ask, "Is something wrong?"
  179.
  180. Xelten shakes his head.
  181.
  182. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Not at all."
  183.
  184. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Just not exactly surroundings suited to me."
  185.
  186. You peer quizzically at Xelten.
  187.
  188. You softly say, "I am sure there are traders outside the city we could tackle..."
  189.
  190. You smile slightly.
  191.
  192. Xelten tilts his head back.
  193.
  194. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Feel free to join me if you wish."
  195.
  196. You gaze at Xelten.
  197.
  198. You frown.
  199.
  200. Xelten tips his cowl to Taleek with a courteous nod.
  201.
  202. Taleek raises his hand in a quick salute.
  203.
  204. You sigh.
  205.
  206. Xelten waves.
  207.
  208. You wave.
  209.
  210. Mage Xelten just went east.
  211.
  212. You frown.
  213.
  214. You softly say, "I think I am in trouble."
  215.
  216. You nibble your lip thoughtfully.
  217.
  218. Taleek pats you on the back.
  219.
  220. You softly say, "I am afraid that if I go to the barrows he is going to drop a tree on my head..."
  221.
  222. You sigh.
  223.
  224. Taleek rubs you gently.
  225.
  226. You softly say, "I do not even think I did anything wrong. Next time I should do something wrong so that I actually deserve the tree..."
  227.
  228. You ponder.
  229.
  230. Taleek says, "Do what ya need to do darling"
  231.
  232. You chuckle to yourself.
  233.
  234. You softly ask, "Ah yes... what was the lecture about?"
  235.
  236. Taleek says, "Being you.. "
  237.
  238. Taleek nods to you.
  239.
  240. You give Taleek a gentle smooch on the cheek.
  241.
  242. You softly say, "That one."
  243.
  244. You chortle softly at some secret joke.
  245.
  246. You softly say, "There... Now I did something wrong."
  247.
  248. You roll your eyes.
  249.
  250. Taleek winks at you.
  251.
  252. Taleek lovingly snuggles up to you.
  253.
  254. You chuckle to yourself.
  255.
  256. Taleek says, "Wont be the last time"
  257.
  258. You softly say, "I am certain of that."
  259.
  260. You lean on Taleek.
  261.
  262. You softly say, "Well, I am sorry that you have to deal with him."
  263.
  264. Taleek says, "Just another fly on the wall.. "
  265.
  266. You softly say, "A bit of a noisy one."
  267.
  268. Taleek says, "for you.."
  269.
  270. Taleek pats you on the back.
  271.
  272. You nod.
  273.
  274. You softly say, "True."
  275.
  276. You sigh.
  277.
  278. You softly say, "That is true... he barely speaks a word to you anymore. It must be nice."
  279.
  280. You grin at Taleek.
  281.
  282. Taleek says, "Rather nice.. really."
  283.
  284. You softly say, "I wish I had gotten a pair of those pants from that shop..."
  285.
  286. You ponder.
  287.
  288. Taleek says, "I'm sure I have extra."
  289.
  290. You chuckle.
  291.
  292. You softly say, "Then I would have to hear about how I am wearing other mens' pants."
  293.
  294. You roll your eyes.
  295.
  296. You softly say, "That would be an entertaining argument..."
  297.
  298. You ponder.
  299.
  300. Taleek asks, "Why cant they be your pants?"
  301.
  302. You softly say, "They could be. He does not have to know where they came from."
  303.
  304. Rich velvet is designed to envelop the wearer, wrapping like a shadow from the deep hood to the silver-threaded hem. In contrast to the dark outer material of the cloak, a silvery lining of fine spidersilk covers the interior. Silver chains dangling small blue sapphires extend from a masterfully crafted swan clasp, while an additional gem eye gazes out from the majestic creature.
  305.
  306. You softly ask, "Oh, did I show you my new cloak?"
  307.
  308. You tap a midnight black hooded cloak with a sapphire-eyed silver swan clasp that you are wearing.
  309.
  310. You show Taleek your hooded cloak.
  311.
  312. Taleek exclaims, "I love it!"
  313.
  314. You chuckle.
  315.
  316. Taleek asks, "Have it made?"
  317.
  318. You softly say, "You are not just saying that I hope. And yes, I did. Special made for me."
  319.
  320. You beam!
  321.
  322. Taleek says, "It's very nice.. "
  323.
  324. Taleek looks at you, praising you and supporting you with his approval.
  325.
  326. You smile.
  327.
  328. You softly say, "I had some trouble with the design, but it turned out alright at least."
  329.
  330. Taleek says, "It's lovely."
  331.
  332. You beam at Taleek!
  333.
  334. You sigh.
  335.
  336. You softly say, "Well, I suppose I should go accept my sound lashing..."
  337.
  338. Taleek gives you a smooch!
  339.
  340. Taleek waves.
  341.
  342. Taleek just left.
  343.
  344. (TRAVEL)
  345. (To the Whistling Woods and the Rose)
  346.
  347. You focus on your love for Xelten, and see...
  348.
  349. [Marachek's Oak, Secluded Booth]
  350. This corner of the Feasterie lies behind a towering shank of barbequed boar meat. Not surprisingly, it is the only spot in the place out of the glare of bright lights, gleaming Halfling smiles and endless offers of service. It is even possible to carry on a quiet conversation here, accompanied only by the sizzle of steaming food and the subdued hum of pearlflies on the windowsill.
  351. Also in the room: Mage Xelten who is sitting and Aerivyn who is sitting.
  352. Obvious exits: out.
  353.
  354.
  355.
  356. (TRAVEL/HUNTING)
  357.
  358.
  359. [Whistling Wood, Barrows]
  360. One large tree has collapsed, partially blocking the pathway. The bark of the tree is riddled with hundreds of tiny holes that must have weakened it and caused its fall. A skull, yellowed with age, hangs by a frayed rope from one of the tree's branches. You also see a deeply gouged pine chest, a jackal-tooth wristband, some copper coins, some bronze coins, a medium star diopside, a small clear topaz, a small red-green bloodstone, a medium rose quartz, a black cloak, and some junk.
  361. Obvious paths: northeast, west.
  362.
  363. Mage Xelten just arrived.
  364.
  365. You gaze at Xelten.
  366.
  367. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I figured that you were busy... I thought I would just come here and wait for you..."
  368.
  369. You gaze down at the ground.
  370.
  371. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Aerivyn needed me."
  372.
  373. You give a slight nod.
  374.
  375. You quietly say in Ilithic, "When I saw you with her, I had a feeling something was wrong."
  376.
  377. Xelten nods.
  378.
  379. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I was worried when I came here and did not see you... I went to the Rose thinking maybe you were there..."
  380.
  381. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Where would I be?"
  382.
  383. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I did not know where you could be. That was why I was worried. I thought maybe something had happened to you."
  384.
  385. You gaze at Xelten.
  386.
  387. Xelten gives a slight nod.
  388.
  389.
  390. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Should I have expected you to be somewhere?"
  391.
  392. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I was here for a while."
  393.
  394. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I tried not to keep you waiting too long..."
  395.
  396. Xelten says in Ilithic, "You were busy."
  397.
  398. < With the speed and temerity of a swooping falcon, you step backward and then slice at an Adan'f blood warrior. An Adan'f blood warrior attempts to dodge, only partially avoiding the impact. The scimitar lands a solid hit that nicks the warrior's left forearm.
  399.
  400. < Driving in with naturally fluid movements, you sweep a gleaming silver scimitar at an Adan'f blood warrior. An Adan'f blood warrior attempts to dodge, moving directly into the blow. The scimitar lands a good strike to the warrior's abdomen.
  401. [You're incredibly balanced and in strong position.]
  402.
  403.
  404. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Not really. Taleek and I were just talking."
  405.
  406. You move into a position to parry.
  407.
  408. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Talking."
  409.
  410. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Yes. Talking."
  411.
  412. You gaze at Xelten.
  413.
  414. Xelten glances up at the sky.
  415.
  416. You feel fully balanced again.
  417.
  418. A raggedy young Gnome dashes up beside you and pants, "I seen the janitor! He's comin' to clean this stuff up in jes' a minute! Grab up what ye wants to keep fast afore he gits here!" Before you can so much as blink, he's gone.
  419.
  420. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Very well."
  421.
  422. You quietly say in Ilithic, "That is all that he and I have ever done..."
  423.
  424. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Except the times he kissed you?"
  425.
  426. You glance at Xelten. His features are hard to make out.
  427.
  428. Xelten says in Ilithic, "And every other excuse he makes to touch you."
  429.
  430. You blink in amazement at Xelten. Good heavens, dear!
  431.
  432. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Darling?"
  433.
  434. You quietly say in Ilithic, "He and I have never done anything."
  435.
  436.
  437. You quietly say in Ilithic, "We are just friends."
  438.
  439. Xelten says in Ilithic, "You sounded very surprised when I arrived earlier. Seemed to ignore me mostly, while he and you were so.. close."
  440.
  441. You blink.
  442.
  443. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Xelten.... Taleek and I are friends. Just friends. Much like myself and the Consul. There is nothing going on..."
  444.
  445. You shake your head.
  446.
  447. You gaze down at the ground.
  448.
  449. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Perhaps that's not a very good example for proving the point."
  450.
  451. You glance at Xelten. His features are hard to make out.
  452.
  453. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "I beg your pardon?"
  454.
  455. A low fog rolls in, then just as quickly rolls out.
  456.
  457. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I have no idea what you did with the Consul."
  458.
  459. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I... did not...."
  460.
  461. You gaze at Xelten.
  462.
  463. You quietly say in Ilithic, "We did nothing...."
  464.
  465. You sigh.
  466.
  467. You gaze off into the distance blankly.
  468.
  469. You gesture.
  470.
  471. Xelten says in Ilithic, "It saddened me to see Taleek getting more affection than you have given me except when I come over to kiss you."
  472.
  473. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I was not aware that what I did was considered... affectionate."
  474.
  475. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I leaned my arm upon his shoulder...."
  476.
  477. You quietly say in Ilithic, "We had been joking..."
  478.
  479.
  480. Tiny tendrils of lightning jolt between your hands as you prepare the Chain Lightning spell.
  481. You feel fully prepared to cast your spell.
  482.
  483. You gesture at an Adan'f shadow mage.
  484. A lurid green bolt of lightning strikes an Adan'f shadow mage! The worst of the bolt misses, but tendrils of lightning lash out in passing to scorch its left arm.
  485.
  486. A lurid green bolt of lightning strikes an Adan'f shadow mage! The worst of the bolt misses, but tendrils of lightning lash out in passing to scorch its abdomen.
  487. The shadow mage is lightly stunned!
  488.
  489. A lurid green bolt of lightning strikes an Adan'f shadow mage! The worst of the bolt misses, but tendrils of lightning lash out in passing to scorch its neck.
  490.
  491. A lurid green bolt of lightning strikes an Adan'f shadow mage! The bolt strikes its neck in a mingled spray of blood and sparks.
  492.
  493. A lurid green bolt of lightning strikes an Adan'f shadow mage! The bolt grazes its head, sending tendrils of electricity to caress its cheek!
  494. The shadow mage sinks to the ground in a rustle of cloth and covers its face with the hood of its cloak. Slowly the movements of the cloaked creature stop.
  495. The shadow mage's chain hauberk falls apart!
  496. The mage's skull-tipped staff disappears, the shadows melting away.
  497.
  498. [Whistling Wood, Barrows]
  499. One large tree has collapsed, partially blocking the pathway. The bark of the tree is riddled with hundreds of tiny holes that must have weakened it and caused its fall. A skull, yellowed with age, hangs by a frayed rope from one of the tree's branches. You also see an Adan'f shadow mage which appears dead.
  500. Also here: Mage Xelten.
  501. Obvious paths: northeast, west.
  502.
  503. Xelten draws forth a slender dagger with a carved bone hilt.
  504.
  505. Xelten arranges an Adan'f shadow mage for skinning.
  506.
  507. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I suppose I was the joke."
  508.
  509. A pained expression crosses Xelten's face.
  510.
  511. Xelten approaches your kill, an Adan'f shadow mage, preparing to skin it!
  512.
  513. Xelten claws at the shadow mage in a futile attempt to skin it with his fingernails.
  514.
  515. You gaze at Xelten.
  516.
  517. Xelten moves over to your kill, an Adan'f shadow mage, getting ready to search it!
  518.
  519. Xelten searches the shadow mage.
  520.
  521. Xelten sheathes his slender dagger.
  522.
  523. An Adan'f shadow mage decays away.
  524.
  525. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Why would you say that?"
  526.
  527. Xelten gazes up at the sky.
  528.
  529. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Because I am upset."
  530.
  531. You quietly say in Ilithic, "If I gave the wrong impression, I am sorry. I merely was not expecting you to come back."
  532.
  533. You sigh.
  534.
  535. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Nor did you appear very happy that I did."
  536.
  537. Xelten slowly empties his lungs.
  538.
  539. You quietly say in Ilithic, "If you did not notice, I was trying to include you in on what he and I were discussing..."
  540.
  541. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I suppose I simply did not belong then."
  542.
  543. You quietly say in Ilithic, "That is not what I meant."
  544.
  545. An Adan'f blood warrior slinks in with weapon held ready, scanning the room for threats.
  546. The blood warrior roars in challenge, "Adan'f lusss! Adan'f lusss!"
  547.
  548. You frown.
  549.
  550. You move into a position to parry.
  551. [You're incredibly balanced and overwhelming opponent.]
  552.
  553. The blood warrior bares its teeth and hisses in mindless rage as it glares at you!
  554.
  555. You quietly say in Ilithic, "When you showed up you seemed insistent on... not belonging."
  556.
  557. An Adan'f blood warrior tastes the air with its tongue as it warily scans the shadows.
  558.
  559. You sigh.
  560.
  561. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I am confused..."
  562.
  563. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "What are you confused about?"
  564.
  565. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I am confused about what I have done...."
  566.
  567. Xelten assesses his combat situation.
  568.
  569. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Me too."
  570.
  571. You peer quizzically at Xelten.
  572.
  573. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Clearly you believe something or you would not be so upset."
  574.
  575. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "What do you believe I have done?"
  576.
  577. Xelten retreats from combat.
  578.
  579. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "What have I done specifically that is upsetting you?"
  580.
  581. Xelten glares at an Adan'f blood warrior.
  582.
  583. The blood warrior roars in challenge, "Adan'f lusss! Adan'f lusss!"
  584.
  585. With the speed and temerity of a swooping falcon, an Adan'f blood warrior pounds at Xelten. Xelten counters the fist with a curved steel iltesh with an ironwood pommel carved into the shape of a leaf.
  586. The blood warrior roars in challenge, "Adan'f lusss! Adan'f lusss!"
  587.
  588. You quietly say in Ilithic, "We can go elsewhere if you like."
  589.
  590. < Driving in like the irresistable force of a cyclone, you slice an ivory-hilted jambiya at an Adan'f blood warrior. An Adan'f blood warrior attempts to evade, taking the full blow. The jambiya lands a light hit to the warrior's abdomen.
  591. [You're incredibly balanced and in dominating position.]
  592.
  593. Xelten sighs.
  594.
  595. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Clearly this is something that needs to be discussed."
  596.
  597. You quietly say in Ilithic, "And I wish to know."
  598.
  599. Xelten quietly says in Ilithic, "Elsewhere there is no sweat to cover tears."
  600.
  601. You gaze at Xelten.
  602.
  603. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Then maybe we should go elsewhere so that you will stop hiding your feelings."
  604.
  605.
  606. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "If you do not tell me your concerns, how can I know what they are?"
  607.
  608. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "How can I know what I should not do if it angers you?"
  609.
  610. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I suppose you'd have to spend two days trying to figure out all of the worst possible things that could have happened."
  611.
  612. Driving in like the irresistable force of a cyclone, an Adan'f blood warrior pounds at Xelten. Xelten knocks aside the fist with a curved steel iltesh with an ironwood pommel carved into the shape of a leaf.
  613.
  614. * Driving in with naturally fluid movements, an Adan'f blood warrior pounds at you. You fend off the fist with a gleaming silver scimitar.
  615. [You're incredibly balanced and in dominating position.]
  616.
  617. < Moving like a striking snake, you sweep a gleaming silver scimitar at an Adan'f blood warrior. An Adan'f blood warrior attempts to dodge, taking the full blow. The scimitar lands a solid hit that cleaves off the fingers of the warrior's right hand.
  618. [You're winded, incredibly balanced and in dominating position.]
  619.
  620.
  621. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Let us go elsewhere so that we may discuss this uninterrupted."
  622.
  623. Xelten searches the blood warrior.
  624.
  625. Xelten sighs.
  626.
  627. Xelten sheathes his steel iltesh.
  628.
  629. [Whistling Wood, Barrows]
  630. One large tree has collapsed, partially blocking the pathway. The bark of the tree is riddled with hundreds of tiny holes that must have weakened it and caused its fall. A skull, yellowed with age, hangs by a frayed rope from one of the tree's branches. You also see a rusty steel coffer, a small star diopside, a medium rose quartz, a salt-stained steel casket, a large clear topaz, a small red-green bloodstone, a reinforced steel casket, and some junk.
  631. Also here: Mage Xelten.
  632. Obvious paths: northeast, west.
  633.
  634. You put your scimitar in your leather-covered scabbard.
  635.
  636. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Very well."
  637.

  640. [Milene's Rose, Front Desk]
  641. Shadows drift in lazy patterns over the gleaming dark wood that compose the floor and walls, digging into the carvings of roses that gracefully climb in vines over the satiny planks. A black desk serviced by a young man curves out of the east wall. Stairs lead up, a pattern of black roses woven into the blue carpeting that covers them. You also see a short flight of steps.
  642. Obvious exits: west, out.
  643. Xelten followed.
  644.
  645. [Milene's Rose, Tavern]
  646. Roomy and rectangular, the tavern for Milene's Rose is always busy, but strangely never so full that it becomes unbearably crowded. A booth in the corner allows for privacy, and a bar offers service for the thirsty and the hungry. There is little sign of disarray anywhere. You also see the publican.
  647. Obvious exits: east.
  648. Xelten followed.

  651. [Milene's Rose, Private Booth]
  652. Circular and featuring just the right compliment of shadows to light, comfortable seats, padded with blue velvet upholstery that features the signature black rose motif of Milene's, await those who enter here. The soft perfume of flowers drifts through the air, and a crisp midnight blue cloth of thick linen covers the tabletop.
  653. Obvious exits: out.
  654. Xelten followed.
  655.
  656. Xelten searches around for a moment.
  657.
  658. You settle yourself on the comfortable seats.
  659.
  660. Xelten takes a seat.
  661.
  662. (Xelten clutches at his wounds.)
  663.
  664. Xelten slowly empties his lungs.
  665.
  666. You see Mage Xelten Tyrsin, Mountain Watcher of Ilithi, an Elf.
  667.
  668. You cannot make out his features with the clothing he is wearing.
  669. He has a tattoo of a dragon made of blue ice breathing white flames on his back.
  670.
  671. He has a severely swollen and deeply bruised right arm compounded by cuts and bruises about the right arm, a severely swollen and deeply bruised left arm compounded by cuts and bruises about the left arm, faint scuffing to the left leg, minor swelling and bruising in the chest area, cuts and bruises about the abdomen.
  672.
  673. He is bleeding with slight bruising in the left arm and with slight bruising in the right arm.
  674.
  675. He is wearing a charcoal grey cowl, some midnight black gloves, a shoulder sack, an elegant spidersilk traveler's backpack, a misty grey spidersilk cloak clasped with a sapphire crafted to resemble a majestic swan, a shadowy black mage's robe shot through with silver and red threads, a belted viper-skin baldric fastened with a chiseled iron dragon buckle, a double-wrapped black leather sword belt inlaid with silver swans, a pair of crisp black leather knee boots with polished silver buckles, some bronze spiked knuckles, some steel-toed footwraps with silver buckles, a silver ring bearing the crest of the Warrior Mage Guild, an albredine crystal ring and a platinum wedding band set with dozens of tiny sapphires.
  676.
  677. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Let us go to the Healer first."
  678.
  679. You stand back up.
  680.
  681. You sigh.
  682.
  683. Xelten says in Ilithic, "No."
  684.
  685. You quietly say in Ilithic, "We are not discussing this while you are bleeding."
  686.
  687. Xelten sighs.
  688.
  689. Xelten rises to his feet fluidly, like a large, graceful cat.

  701. [Quentin's Healerium]
  702. Loose boards of white-washed wood and a collection of dingy tapestries that reek of dust and mold compose this small, windowless hovel. Oddly, there is little detectable tell-tale scent of blood, although the walls are splashed liberally with bright red splotches. A single oil lamp hangs overhead, and the only other light source is the open door leading out. You also see the healer Quentin.
  703. Obvious exits: out.
  704. Xelten followed.
  705. Xelten lies down.
  706.
  707.
  708. Your body feels at full strength.
  709. Your spirit feels full of life.
  710. You have no significant injuries.
  711.
  712.
  713. Xelten searches around for a moment.
  714.
  715. Quentin touches Xelten and snickers.
  716. As Quentin mumbles a few words, his wounds are miraculously healed.
  717.
  718. Xelten slowly empties his lungs.
  719.
  720. Xelten sits up.

  740. Xelten takes a seat.
  741.
  742. Xelten leans against a sturdy oak table.
  743.
  744. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Now... continue."
  745.
  746. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Tell me all that I have done, or that you believe I have done wrong."
  747.
  748. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Please."
  749.
  750. You gaze at Xelten.
  751.
  752. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I do not know what you have done. I spent a week now trying to figure out what it is that you could not tell me. And then I saw you with a man who is not a friend of mine and thus I do not trust at all."
  753.
  754. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Taleek, of all people."
  755.
  756. You quietly say in Ilithic, "You saw me with him as in... standing in the same area with him and near to him...."
  757.
  758. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "What do you think he and I were doing?"
  759.
  760. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Perhaps I'm just jealous for no reason then."
  761.
  762. You quietly say in Ilithic, "You must think something or you would not feel jealousy..."
  763.
  764. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Your affection for me eases my mind, and ... I just have not felt much lately. Thus my mind is not eased. Yet the two of you seemed to be flirting just fine."
  765.
  766. You ponder.
  767.
  768. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I was not... flirting..."
  769.
  770. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Taleek is a married man..."
  771.
  772. Xelten says in Ilithic, "That is how it appeared from my lonely standpoint."
  773.
  774. Xelten says in Ilithic, "He's a married man who flirts with every woman he sees and has a 'harem'."
  775.
  776. You quietly say in Ilithic, "It is something that his wife promotes...."
  777.
  778. You gaze at Xelten.
  779.
  780. Xelten says in Ilithic, "And we know exactly what she is like."
  781.
  782. You quietly say in Ilithic, "He does not do anything with women other than his wife."
  783.
  784. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Nor she men other than him."
  785.
  786. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Perhaps a bit of attention to me in front of your friends is too much to ask, I do not know."
  787.
  788. Xelten sighs.
  789.
  790. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Perhaps it is ridiculous of me to even be worried about it, that is most likely it."
  791.
  792. You quietly say in Ilithic, "It has nothing to do with what it likely is... I want to know all of your worries."
  793.
  794. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I cannot put them to rest if you do not tell me."
  795.
  796. Your red ruby on your forehead glows hotly.
  797.
  798. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Start at the top and work your way down and perhaps this can be resolved."
  799.
  800. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I do not know what else to say now."
  801.
  802. You quietly say in Ilithic, "You have made hints about myself and Taleek, and hints about myself and the Consul. Tell me your concerns so that I can put them to rest."
  803.
  804. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Am I not desirable to you anymore, Ayrell?"
  805.
  806. You blink in amazement at Xelten. Good heavens, dear!
  807.
  808. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Where did that come from?"
  809.
  810. You gaze at Xelten.
  811.
  812. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I have had a great deal on my mind recently. It has nothing to do with a lack of desire, it is merely stress."
  813.
  814. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Which I am hoping to relieve a bit of if you will just be honest with me and tell me what you think."
  815.
  816. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Do I cause you stress then? That you need the entertainment of other men to set aside the problems I cause?"
  817.
  818. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Let me get the question straight here... what do you mean by entertainment?"
  819.
  820. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Not so serious. Least I hope not."
  821.
  822. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I was not your choice for the one who you'd talk to. I was not your choice for the one you'd be making contact with."
  823.
  824. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I was not your choice for the one you'd stay with when the two men parted ways."
  825.
  826. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Am I being selfish?"
  827.
  828. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Childish?"
  829.
  830. You quietly say in Ilithic, "You do cause me stress from time to time but other men certainly do not set those problems aside for me."
  831.
  832. You ponder.
  833.
  834. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "I am confused... what two men parted ways and where and when?"
  835.
  836. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Myself and Taleek."
  837.
  838. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "I was spending time with my friends. You came, I offered you to stay, even tried to convince you to stay. It was your choice to leave. Was I supposed to just drop everything and run off with you?"
  839.
  840. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Clearly, I did not belong there."
  841.
  842. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "How is that "clear"?"
  843.
  844. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I did not see how you were out of place."
  845.
  846. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I could taste the disdain of your friends."
  847.
  848. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Though I know not why they feel so."
  849.
  850. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Perhaps it is because my friends taste the disdain that you give out toward them..."
  851.
  852. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Which I do not understand..."
  853.
  854. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I tried to join in the friendship at a time, but it failed miserably, to the point that one may as well be an enemy now."
  855.
  856. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Why does that one have to be an enemy?"
  857.
  858. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Because he obviously does not wish it otherwise."
  859.
  860. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I even made an effort to speak to him in a joking manner only to be ignored."
  861.
  862. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Perhaps it is because of the way you ignored him the other day."
  863.
  864. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I am not following why you insist on holding such hatred toward him."
  865.
  866. You sigh.
  867.
  868. Your red ruby on your forehead glows hotly.
  869.
  870. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I attempted to correct it today, to no avail."
  871.
  872. Xelten says in Ilithic, "If he had any desire for peace, he'd have accepted."
  873.
  874. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Perhaps you have just pushed him too far. Perhaps he is just as confused by your reasons as I am... and you are refusing to clarify."
  875.
  876. Xelten says in Ilithic, "It was not I who began it."
  877.
  878. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Then what did?"
  879.
  880. You gaze at Xelten.
  881.
  882. Xelten says in Ilithic, "It was he who brushed me aside when I made my attempts to befriend him originally."
  883.
  884. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I did not see him brushing you aside."
  885.
  886. You shake your head.
  887.
  888. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Perhaps he was too focused on you and did not notice me and thus the brushing aside was unintentional."
  889.
  890. Xelten makes a grunting noise.
  891.
  892. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Focused on me?"
  893.
  894. You peer quizzically at Xelten.
  895.
  896. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Or perhaps it is all the doing of his spiteful wife."
  897.
  898. You ponder.
  899.
  900. You quietly say in Ilithic, "You are confusing me..."
  901.
  902. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Why would he be focused on me... and how would that be the doing of his wife... and why is she spiteful?"
  903.
  904. You rub your head.
  905.
  906. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Because she could not have me when she wanted me, because she is a leader of the organization that cast me out? Perhaps she made certain he'd be against me, and perhaps now he mocks me by showing interest in you simply to upset me."
  907.
  908. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I'm sure it makes him gleeful to see my anger."
  909.
  910. You gaze at Xelten.
  911.
  912. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I do not see him showing an interest in me..."
  913.
  914. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I need a drink."

  969. Xelten guzzles down some of his Venom and then smacks his lips and wipes them with his sleeve.
  970.
  971. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Fine. So... if I am so blind as to not notice it... who else do you feel is showing interest in me that I am not seeing?"
  972.
  973. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Every man wants you."
  974.
  975. You peer quizzically at Xelten.
  976.
  977. You quietly say in Ilithic, "That is not true."
  978.
  979. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Some are more willing to pursue you than others, it would seem."
  980.
  981. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Name some of these supposed men. I am finding it incredibly hard to believe."
  982.
  983. You sigh.
  984.
  985. Xelten sighs.
  986.
  987. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Please."
  988.
  989. You gaze at Xelten.
  990.
  991. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Taleek."
  992.
  993. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I don't know."
  994.
  995. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "You said men. Who else other than Taleek?"
  996.
  997. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I guess my point is invalid."
  998.
  999. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "So Taleek is your only concern of men wanting me?"
  1000.
1001. You ponder the meaning of Xelten's existence.
  1002.
1003. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Unless Fierolan does too. I have no idea what he wants."
  1004.
  1005. You ponder.
  1006.
1007. You quietly say in Ilithic, "That is an odd statement."
  1008.
1009. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I'd trust Fierolan over Taleek, or any other man, at least."
  1010.
1011. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I need another drink."
  1012.
1013. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Is there something that the Consul has done that would make you think he feels that way toward me? Or give you suspicion at all?"
  1014.
1015. You signal to a waiter, who nods and takes your order.
1016. The waiter places a dram of Shorka's Venom on the table. You pay him 35 dokoras for it.
  1017.
1018. Xelten gets a dram of Shorka's Venom from atop a sturdy oak table.
  1019.
1020. Xelten guzzles down some of his Venom and then smacks his lips and wipes them with his sleeve.
  1021.
1022. Xelten says in Ilithic, "The past. The way he treats me the same as he treats those who I -know- he is toying with."
  1023.
1024. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "The past?"
  1025.
1026. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I know you two wanted to be together."
  1027.
  1028. You clear your throat.
  1029.
1030. You quietly say in Ilithic, "He was a married man, Xelten."
  1031.
1032. Xelten says in Ilithic, "And he's not now."
  1033.
1034. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I was a child back then."
  1035.
1036. Xelten says in Ilithic, "You're quite a woman now."
  1037.
1038. You babble unintelligibly for a while.
  1039.
1040. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I do not know what to say to that..."
  1041.
  1042. You ponder.
  1043.
1044. Xelten says in Ilithic, "You would not deny it is possible."
  1045.
1046. The shadows surrounding the circle of obsidian on Xelten's forehead deepen, momentarily shrouding his face in darkness.
  1047.
1048. Xelten says in Ilithic, "You were even hesitant about how you would react."
  1049.
1050. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Do you know how that makes me feel?"
  1051.
1052. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I have a great deal of respect for the Consul and I always have. I always will. He is the reason I have become anything that I have become. I owe him a great deal."
  1053.
1054. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "If I was not here, would you pursue him?"
  1055.
1056. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Doubtful. Even if I chose to, he would not be interested. Not to my knowledge anyway."
  1057.
1058. You quietly say in Ilithic, "But I look to him as a leader."
  1059.
1060. Xelten says in Ilithic, "You're able to put faith in people that I never can."
  1061.
1062. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Why do you say that?"
  1063.
1064. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Do you think that I am putting faith in people that I should not be?"
  1065.
1066. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I do not know. I am merely saying that I am afraid of being betrayed."
  1067.
1068. You quietly say in Ilithic, "The Consul is like a father to me. He has never given me any reason to distrust him. He has always been there for me when I needed him."
  1069.
1070. You quietly say in Ilithic, "He was always willing to give me a chance when no one else would."
  1071.
  1072. You sigh.
  1073.
1074. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Have I not?"
  1075.
1076. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I refer to a much longer span of time than you and I, Xelten. As I said... I have known the Consul since I was a mere child. You have been there for me, yes. I am trying to explain why I put my faith in him."
  1077.
1078. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "How can I possibly ever know that he will not feed me to Urrem'tier if I accidentally step in his way?"
  1079.
1080. Xelten says in Ilithic, "He practically has that very power."
  1081.
1082. You peer quizzically at Xelten.
  1083.
1084. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "But why would he do it?"
  1085.
1086. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I do not know. I have no idea what is in his mind."
  1087.
1088. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I've seen people do such things before."
  1089.
1090. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I cannot think of any reason why he would feel it necessary to do such to you."
  1091.
  1092. You sigh.
  1093.
1094. Xelten says in Ilithic, "My own island cast me out after I saved them."
  1095.
1096. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Unless you intend to give him reason..."
  1097.
1098. Xelten says in Ilithic, "What reason had they? Greed, their own quest for power."
  1099.
1100. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Fear that they were not in control."
  1101.
1102. Your red ruby on your forehead flares brightly.
  1103.
1104. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "What could the Consul want of yours that would make him do that to you?"
  1105.
1106. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I do not know. Clearly I'd never have more of the Queen's favor than him. Perhaps he'd want you, we never decided that he wouldn't."
  1107.
1108. You quietly say in Ilithic, "He has no reason to want me."
  1109.
1110. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "He is a very kind and thoughtful person at face value. And then in private he reveals what he really thinks. But then, is he not merely doing me the same way?"
  1111.
1112. You peer quizzically at Xelten.
  1113.
1114. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I am not sure I know what you mean."
  1115.
1116. You signal to a waiter, who nods and takes your order.
1117. The waiter places a dram of Shorka's Venom on the table. You pay him 35 dokoras for it.
  1118.
1119. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Caelumia, Meanne, etcetera. They all believe they're good friends with him."
  1120.
1121. Xelten says in Ilithic, "He hates them."
  1122.
1123. You quietly say in Ilithic, "That is a bit different circumstance..."
  1124.
1125. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Is it? Does he not feel the same way about me? He has the same gestures, the same expressions."
  1126.
1127. The soft fragrance of a bouquet of silver roses twines the air in a gentle embrace before drifting away again.
  1128.
1129. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Perhaps you are reading too deeply into it."
  1130.
1131. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Perhaps."
  1132.
1133. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Or perhaps he does despise me for my failures."
  1134.
1135. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Or perhaps he truly does just desire the most beautiful woman on Elanthia."
  1136.
1137. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I doubt that."
  1138.
  1139. You blink.
  1140.
1141. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Wait... what?"
  1142.
1143. Xelten says in Ilithic, "The most graceful, noble, elegant, beautiful..."
  1144.
1145. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Best. The best woman there ever will be."
  1146.
1147. You peer quizzically at Xelten.
  1148.
1149. Xelten says in Ilithic, "How did I ever get your love, I do not know."
  1150.
1151. You quietly say in Ilithic, "You cannot possibly be using all those to describe me..."
  1152.
1153. Xelten says in Ilithic, "All those and more."
  1154.
1155. Xelten says in Ilithic, "But maybe your love for me has faded."
  1156.
  1157. Xelten sighs.
  1158.
1159. You quietly say in Ilithic, "It must be the drinks talking. The Consul could have any woman, I am sure of it. He has no need to come after me."
  1160.
1161. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Any woman wouldn't be nearly as good."
  1162.
  1163. You sigh.
  1164.
1165. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Then let me put it this way... I do not believe he is looking for a woman. He is very involved in his work."
  1166.
1167. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "What was I doing when I saw you?"
  1168.
  1169. You ponder.
  1170.
1171. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I'd sworn off all women and was heavily immersed in work."
  1172.
1173. You gaze silently at Xelten.
  1174.
  1175. You sigh.
  1176.
1177. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I suppose nothing I can say then will ever convince you that the Consul has no interest in me."
  1178.
1179. On the oak table you see a dram of Shorka's Venom, a bouquet of silver roses, a carefully written menu and a crisp midnight blue cloth.
  1180.
1181. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Am I too jealous then?"
  1182.
1183. You quietly say in Ilithic, "He has done nothing to me that would give you need to be jealous."
  1184.
1185. Xelten gets a dram of Shorka's Venom from atop a sturdy oak table.
  1186.
1187. Xelten guzzles down some of his Venom and then smacks his lips and wipes them with his sleeve.
  1188.
1189. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Unless we are discussing something else now.."
  1190.
  1191. You ponder.
  1192.
1193. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Well of course I'm jealous. He's smarter than I am, more experienced than I am, more powerful than I am. Has the Queen's eye."
  1194.
1195. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Yes but... do you not believe you can reach such a point as well?"
  1196.
1197. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "I chose you, did I not?"
  1198.
1199. Xelten says in Ilithic, "How could I? I don't even know who my parents are. I don't even know when I was born. Or where. All I know of my heritage is my features and a few words from dying people who I despised for stealing my magic."
  1200.
1201. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I can't be a noble with a shield detailing 15 generations of nobility."
  1202.
1203. You quietly say in Ilithic, "There are very few who can be..."
  1204.
1205. Xelten says in Ilithic, "You're a noble."
  1206.
1207. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Yes, but I did not know that from child birth.... I did not learn it until much later."
  1208.
1209. You quietly say in Ilithic, "And it does not mean that anything is going to be handed to me. I have to work for it just like everyone else."
  1210.
1211. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Perhaps your destiny is just naturally greater because of it."
  1212.
1213. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I wasn't good enough at my job. I had to have backup. And then be replaced."
  1214.
  1215. You gaze at Xelten.
  1216.
1217. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I did not replace you."
  1218.
  1219. You frown.
  1220.
1221. Xelten says in Ilithic, "And then Fierolan says to me how a noble of our people is made from his deeds rather than his bloodline."
  1222.
1223. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Or something to that effect I guess"
  1224.
1225. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Was he mocking me?"
  1226.
1227. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I imagine so."
  1228.
  1229. You frown at Xelten.
  1230.
1231. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I am certain that he was simply trying to tell you that you can have the heart of a noble without having that 15 generation shield of ancestors that you spoke of."
  1232.
  1233. Xelten sighs.
  1234.
1235. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Why would he mock you?"
  1236.
1237. Xelten says in Ilithic, "My mind tells me to be suspicous and my heart tells me to stop suspecting everyone."
  1238.
1239. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Which am I supposed to listen to? The one that guided me through decades of hardship? Or the one that guided me to you."
  1240.
1241. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I just do not understand what has happened to cause your mind to be so suspicious..."
  1242.
  1243. Xelten sighs.
  1244.
1245. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Should I just give him a chance then?"
  1246.
1247. The soft fragrance of a bouquet of silver roses twines the air in a gentle embrace before drifting away again.
  1248.
1249. You quietly say in Ilithic, "All this time I have always assumed that you were... trusting him, that is."
  1250.
1251. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I cannot make that decision for you."
  1252.
  1253. You sigh.
  1254.
1255. Your red ruby on your forehead dims drastically for a moment.
  1256.
1257. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I guess I'll decide after the big secret is revealed."
  1258.
1259. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "What big secret?"
  1260.
  1261. You ponder.
  1262.
1263. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Whatever it is that has plagued me since you would not tell me."
  1264.
1265. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I thought that this conversation was helping to ease all of that..."
  1266.
1267. Xelten says in Ilithic, "No, that won't be eased until I know what it -is-."
  1268.
1269. You signal to a waiter, who nods and takes your order.
1270. The waiter places a dram of Shorka's Venom on the table. You pay him 35 dokoras for it.
  1271.
1272. Xelten gets a dram of Shorka's Venom from atop a sturdy oak table.
  1273.
1274. You gaze off into the distance blankly.
  1275.
1276. Xelten guzzles down some of his Venom and then smacks his lips and wipes them with his sleeve.
  1277.
1278. Xelten leans against a sturdy oak table.
  1279.
1280. Xelten stares blankly into the distance.
  1281.
  1282. Xelten rubs his head.
1283. You signal to a waiter, who nods and takes your order.
1284. The waiter places a flute of silver wine on the table. You pay him 35 dokoras for it.
  1285.
1286. You get a flute of silver wine from atop a sturdy oak table.
  1287.
1288. Xelten says in Ilithic, "No idea what the bloody secret is."
  1289.
1290. You signal to a waiter, who nods and takes your order.
1291. The waiter places a dram of Shorka's Venom on the table. You pay him 35 dokoras for it.
  1292.
1293. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "What, are you pregnant with his child??"
  1294.
1295. Xelten gets a dram of Shorka's Venom from atop a sturdy oak table.
  1296.
1297. Xelten guzzles down some of his Venom and then smacks his lips and wipes them with his sleeve.
  1298.
1299. (Ayrell starts to take a sip of her wine before nearly choking on it at your words, spitting it out across the table.)
  1300.
  1301. You cough.
  1302.
  1303. You cough.
  1304.
  1305. You cough.
  1306.
1307. Xelten glances at a misty grey spidersilk cloak clasped with a sapphire crafted to resemble a majestic swan.
  1308.
1309. Xelten brushes his hand against his spidersilk cloak.
  1310.
  1311. Your jaw drops.
  1312.
1313. Xelten rubs a shadowy black mage's robe shot through with silver and red threads.
  1314.
1315. You babble unintelligibly for a while.
  1316.
1317. You hesitantly ask in Ilithic, "I am sorry... what was that?"
  1318.
  1319. You cough.
  1320.
1321. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I don't know. Whatever it is that you don't know how to tell me."
  1322.
  1323. You cough.
  1324.
1325. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I wouldn't know how to tell me I was pregnant with someone else's kid."
  1326.
  1327. Xelten blinks.
  1328.
  1329. Xelten ponders.
  1330.
  1331. Xelten nods.
  1332.
  1333. You blink.
  1334.
1335. You continue to instruct your students on targeted magic.
  1336.
1337. You slowly say in Ilithic, "I..... Who.... I have... I am...."
  1338.
  1339. You cough.
  1340.
1341. You ponder the meaning of life.
  1342.
  1343. Xelten gazes at you.
  1344.
1345. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "You're not are you?"
  1346.
1347. You weakly say in Ilithic, "Xelten... who... I just... who would I.... I...."
  1348.
  1349. You cough.
  1350.
  1351. Xelten sighs.
  1352.
1353. You take a sip of the wine, savoring its mellow and fragrant bouquet.
  1354.
  1355. You rub your neck.
  1356.
1357. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I dunno, fierolan."
  1358.
1359. You gaze silently at Xelten.
  1360.
1361. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Maybe that was the big long talk about life."
  1362.
1363. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Moving in with him to raise the kid."
  1364.
1365. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "Would that not go against all that I just told you was not an issue?"
  1366.
1367. You glance at Xelten. His features are hard to make out.
  1368.
  1369. Xelten ponders.
  1370.
1371. You clutch your silver wine tightly.
  1372.
1373. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Yeah, well I Didn't say it made sense."
  1374.
  1375. Xelten rubs his head.
  1376.
1377. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "So how come you don't kiss me in front of your friends?"
  1378.
1379. You quietly say in Ilithic, "No, I suppose you did not..."
  1380.
1381. You glance at Xelten. His features are hard to make out.
  1382.
1383. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "I... huh?"
  1384.
1385. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Or lean on me, or.."
  1386.
  1387. (Ayrell appears clearly flustered.)
  1388.
1389. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Are you not proud of me at all?"
  1390.
1391. You hesitantly say in Ilithic, "Of course I am..."
  1392.
  1393. You gaze at Xelten.
  1394.
1395. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Then why don't you show me off to them?"
  1396.
1397. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Make them jealous for a change."
  1398.
1399. You hesitantly say in Ilithic, "I .... was not aware that I... needed to..."
  1400.
1401. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Well, it would be nice."
  1402.
  1403. Xelten hiccups.
  1404.
1405. Xelten gets a dram of Shorka's Venom from atop a sturdy oak table.
  1406.
1407. Xelten guzzles down some of his Venom and then smacks his lips and wipes them with his sleeve.
  1408.
1409. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I... alright.... "
  1410.
1411. You babble unintelligibly for a while.
  1412.
1413. You hesitantly say in Ilithic, "You actually thought that I...."
  1414.
1415. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "And more when we're alone would be nice too you know?"
  1416.
1417. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I guess you don't know how great it feels to be affectionate with such an amazing woman."
  1418.
1419. (Xelten slumps drunkenly against the table.)
  1420.
1421. You hesitantly say in Ilithic, "No I cannot say that I know how it feels to be affectionate with a woman..... You actually thought....."
  1422.
1423. You wipe your mouth on the hem of your hooded cloak.
  1424.
1425. You continue to instruct your students on targeted magic.
  1426.
1427. You hesitantly say in Ilithic, "I... I spit on you... I am so sorry...."
  1428.
  1429. You ponder.
  1430.
1431. You glance at a flute of silver wine.
  1432.
1433. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Why won't you come sit by me now even?"
  1434.
1435. You haggardly say in Ilithic, "I... I do not know... Perhaps I do not wish to jostle the baby...."
  1436.
  1437. You shake your head.
  1438.
1439. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "What?"
  1440.
1441. You flail your arms about.
  1442.
1443. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Baby?"
  1444.
1445. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "We're havin' a baby?"
  1446.
  1447. You shake your head.
  1448.
  1449. You sigh.
  1450.
1451. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Oh."
  1452.
1453. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I... just... wow...."
  1454.
1455. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I cannot.... I cannot even...."
  1456.
  1457. You rub your head.
  1458.
  1459. Xelten drools.
  1460.
1461. The soft fragrance of a bouquet of silver roses twines the air in a gentle embrace before drifting away again.
  1462.
1463. Xelten leans against a sturdy oak table.
  1464.
1465. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I hope that was just the alcohol talking...."
  1466.
1467. Xelten says in Ilithic, "You're beautiful."
  1468.
  1469. Xelten smiles at you.
  1470.
1471. You quietly say in Ilithic, "You did not actually think that he and I... that I was.... Oh goodness..."
  1472.
1473. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I... thank you... I think...."
  1474.
  1475. You ponder.
  1476.
1477. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Come here?"
  1478.
1479. You scoot over near Xelten.
  1480.
1481. You peer quizzically at Xelten.
  1482.
1483. Xelten leans back against you with a tender smile.
  1484.
1485. (Xelten leans drunkenly against you.)
  1486.
  1487. Xelten puckers his lips.
  1488.
  1489. You gaze at Xelten.
  1490.
1491. (Ayrell looks a little odd as if holding her breath before leaning forward, clearly disgusted by something. Perhaps the stench of the alochol...)
  1492.
1493. You give Xelten a gentle kiss.
  1494.
  1495. You lean back.
  1496.
1497. You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs.
  1498.
1499. You sniff the air, detecting the faint scent of alcohol clinging to Xelten's skin.
  1500.
1501. Xelten snuggles up to you, wrapping his arms lovingly around you.
  1502.
1503. Xelten affectionately nibbles your neck.
  1504.
1505. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I love you."
  1506.
  1507. You wrinkle your nose.
  1508.
1509. You hesitantly say in Ilithic, "I... love you... too...."
  1510.
  1511. Xelten hiccups.
  1512.
1513. Xelten grins mischievously, then leans over and licks you!
  1514.
1515. You quietly say in Ilithic, "You need to... go home and sleep...."
  1516.
1517. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Bathe, possibly as well..."
  1518.
1519. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "We're going home?"
  1520.
1521. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Before the sleeping..."
  1522.
1523. You glance at Xelten. His features are hard to make out.
  1524.
1525. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I think that it is time, yes."
  1526.
1527. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Another drink."
  1528.
1529. You quietly say in Ilithic, "A nice stop by the spring first... "
  1530.
1531. You quietly say in Ilithic, "You clearly do not need another..."
  1532.
  1533. You gaze at Xelten.
  1534.
1535. Xelten says in Ilithic, "One more."
  1536.
1537. You quietly ask in Ilithic, "You promise to bathe before you crawl into bed if I get you another one?"
  1538.
1539. Xelten says in Ilithic, "I do whatever you want."
  1540.
1541. You look at Xelten and sigh.
  1542.
1543. You signal to a waiter, who nods and takes your order.
1544. The waiter places a dram of Shorka's Venom on the table. You pay him 35 dokoras for it.
  1545.
1546. You mutter into the air something about baby.
  1547.
1548. Xelten gets a dram of Shorka's Venom from atop a sturdy oak table.
  1549.
1550. Xelten guzzles down some of his Venom and then smacks his lips and wipes them with his sleeve.
  1551.
  1552. You shake your head.
  1553.
1554. (Xelten slumps onto the table.)
  1555.
  1556. You gaze at Xelten.
  1557.
  1558. Xelten smiles at you.
  1559.
1560. Xelten leans back against you with a tender smile.
  1561.
1562. Xelten affectionately nibbles your lips.
  1563.
  1564. You sigh.
  1565.
1566. You quietly say in Ilithic, "You are done."
  1567.
1568. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Come on. To the spring with you.."
  1569.
  1570. You stand back up.
  1571.
1572. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "Hmm?"
  1573.
1574. You take a sip of the wine.
  1575.
1576. Xelten rises to his feet fluidly, like a large, graceful cat.
  1577.
  1578. Xelten falls over.
  1579.
1580. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Oh for pity's sake..."
  1581.
1582. You kneel down upon the ground before Xelten.
  1583.
  1584. You gaze at Xelten.
  1585.
  1586. Xelten hiccups.
  1587.
  1588. Xelten sits up.
  1589.
1590. You lean against some comfortable seats padded with blue velvet upholstery.
  1591.
1592. Xelten asks in Ilithic, "How'd I get down here?"
  1593.
  1594. Xelten stands up.
  1595.
1596. Xelten leans against a sturdy oak table.
  1597.
1598. You quietly say in Ilithic, "I have been trying to figure that out myself...."
  1599.
1600. You take a sip of the wine.
  1601.
  1602. You sigh.
  1603.
1604. Xelten says in Ilithic, "Lessgo."
  1605.
  1606. Xelten smiles at you.
1607. You take a sip of the wine.
1608. You finish off the rest of it, and set the glass aside.
  1609.
  1610. You stand back up.
  1611.
1612. (Ayrell stands beside Xelten, helping to keep him standing.)
  1613.
1614. Xelten snuggles up to you, wrapping his arms lovingly around you.
  1615.
  1616. You cough.
  1617.
  1618. You rub your nose.
  1619.
1620. You quietly say in Ilithic, "Well... here is to hoping that those goblins are not guarding the spring... this could get messy..."
  1621.
1622. Xelten gazes fondly at you.
  1623.
  1624. You sigh.
  1625.
1626. You quietly say in Ilithic, "We will just.... walk slow...."
  1627.
  1628. You gaze out.
  1629.
  1630. (TRAVEL)
  1631.
1632. Mage Xelten just went south.

  1634. [Milene's Rose, Upstairs Landing]
1635. This short hallway leads to the rooms of the Rose. A strip of blue carpeting runs down the floor, looking fresh and clean. A door of rosewood and a door of silverwillow face each other to the north and south, offering privacy for those who seek it. Stairs lead down to the light and clamor of the tavern proper.
  1636. Obvious exits: none.
