  1. [SL - 1] Second Life
  2. Chapter 1
  3. ----------------------
  4.
  5. >"Alright Anonymous, I think I've got it."
  6. "You said that the last three times, Twilight."
  7. >"I know, but I think I've finally figured it out!"
  8. >You crossed your arms, plopping down in your now 'usual' seat.
  9. >Her basement was cooler than the rest of the library, but it didn't really bother you.
  10. "Alright, let’s hear it."
  11. >She rubbed her fore hooves together with excitement, grinning wildly.
  12. >"So. The first thing we tried was a planeswalking spell, the obvious solution."
  13. "Right. And my skin turned blue for three days."
  14. >"The next one we tried," she continued, dismissing your little rebuttal, "was a portal summoning spell."
  15. "Which wound up giving me gills. In case you're wondering, gills aren't easy to clean."
  16. >"The most recent spell was a bold one; we created a rift in space and time!"
  17. "Pretty weird acid trip. Had a tail for a week."
  18. >"So Anonymous, what do all those have in common?"
  19. "They didn't work?"
  20. >"They were complex spells!"
  21. >Your blank stare continued as you waited for the inevitable explanation.
  22. >"We're over complicating this! If I can get a simple teleportation spell to work on you, I have a foundation for a new theory!"
  23. "Why don't you just do the spell and get it over with? I know you're trying to get me home, and I appreciate that, but I'm getting tired of being a guinea pig."
  24. >"I wish there was another way, but we've been through this."
  25. "I know, I know. I'm one of a kind."
  26. >"And because of that, magic doesn't seem to affect you the same way it does ponies. At least, complex magic doesn't."
  27.
  28. ----------------------
  29.
  30. "A teleportation spell isn't complex?"
  31. >"Of course not! It's a simple-"
  32. >Buzzword. BUZZWORD.
  33. "On second thought, save the explanation for another time."
  34. >Twilight gave a meek smile as she approached the now crispy looking circle in the center of the room.
  35. >Though her attempts didn't always have the desired effect on you, they have left a... lasting impression on her flooring.
  36. "Same drill as last time?"
  37. >"Yup, just stand in the center and I'll do the rest."
  38. "I swear, if you give me gills again."
  39. >"You won't get gills, I promise," she said, her horn charging.
  40. >As she took aim, you got the gut feeling she wasn't 100% confident with her answer.
  41. >Her magic shot out from her horn, a powerful blast hitting you square in the chest.
  42. >As a sensation you could only describe as being shoved through glass washed over you, you distinctly felt your feet leave the ground.
  43. >The ringing in your ears fading with the disturbing warmth of her magic, you slowly opened your eyes.
  44. >Sitting up, you found yourself covered in a blanket.
  45. >Mild nausea aside, you felt normal. A quick glance around, and a smile crept onto your features.
  46. "She did it," you muttered.
  47. "She finally did it."
  48. >Stretching, you noticed your skin felt tight, like you'd been in a pool too long or something.
  49. >Figuring you could deal with that for a while as opposed to living amongst alien horses for the rest of your days, you flopped back onto the bed, releasing a sigh of relief.
  50. >"Anonymous? Are you awake?"
  51. >There it goes. All hope, shot to hell.
  52. >Twilight isn't a nurse.
  53.
  54. ----------------------
  55.
  56. >Groaning, you pushed yourself back up, thoroughly disappointed.
  57. >"How do you feel?" the purple unicorn inquired, taking a seat to the side of your bed.
  58. "Exhausted. I really thought you'd done it this time."
  59. >"So did I."
  60. "Oh well. At least I don't have any gills."
  61. >A nervous laugh escaped her before she silenced herself.
  62. "...so what's the bad news."
  63. >"I didn't say there was any-"
  64. "Twilight, this is attempt number five. What's the bad news?"
  65. >"You've been asleep for three days, and it hasn't helped the... reaction."
  66. "Well, don't keep me in the dark, what's my 'reaction'?"
  67. >"The spell apparently caused some kind of allergic reaction, the swelling hasn't gone down."
  68. "Swelling? What swelling?"
  69. >"You didn't notice? Does it not hurt?"
  70. "Twilight, what swelling?"
  71. >"Your chest, Anonymous."
  72. "My chest isn't swollen," you said, running a hand up to check just in case.
  73. >Of course, it shouldn't have found flesh that soon.
  74. >Looking down, you discovered a pair of breasts.
  75. >Your breasts.
  76. >Silence filled the room, both of you apparently unsure what to say or do.
  77. >Giving an experimental grope, you confirmed that those were indeed your breasts.
  78. >"Have," Twilight began, swallowing nervously. "Have you ever had a reaction like this before?"
  79. >Your breast still in your hand, you didn't make eye contact as you spaciously answered.
  80. "No."
  81. >"Oh," she said, her head lowering in your peripherals.
  82. "But I know what these are."
  83. >"Really?"
  84. >Bolting upright, she was at your side in an instant.
  85. "These are breasts."
  86. >"Breasts?"
  87. "Breasts."
  88.
  89. ----------------------
  90.
  91. >"But... I thought you were a male?"
  92. >Without verbally responding, you moved your hand from your breast, gliding it along the rest of your body.
  93. >A soft curve for your belly, a slight curve for your hips.
  94. >Running your hand over your thighs to your crotch, your heart rate increased.
  95. >Yup. That's a cooter.
  96. "I used to be."
  97. >"Well what are you now?"
  98. "You get two guesses."
  99. >"A female?"
  100. "Bingo," you said, flopping back down.
  101. >Dragging your hands across your face, you groaned quietly.
  102. "How long did you say I was out?"
  103. >"Three days."
  104. "Maybe this'll go away like the gills then."
  105. >There was that nervous laugh again.
  106. "Twiiiiliiight..."
  107. >"In the past, the side effects have shown signs of dissolving or dissipating nearly immediately, even if it's just a little flakiness or discoloration."
  108. "...and?"
  109. >"And in the three days that you've been in the hospital, your breasts haven't exactly... diminished."
  110. "Great. Well, can you just undo the spell or something? Like, an opposite spell?"
  111. >"The spell we tried was a teleportation spell; it doesn't have a counter spell."
  112. "Well why not just teleport me again? Wouldn't that fix it?"
  113. >"I don't feel safe doing that, Anon. What if it makes your condition worse?"
  114. "I'm already a girl, Twilight. Humans only have two genders, it's not a hard guess as to what I'd wind up as, don't you think?"
  115. >"Would you cure a bee sting reaction with another bee sting?"
  116. "Fair point," you sighed, rolling over.
  117. >"I'm sorry, Anon. I wish I had better news."
  118. "No point in getting crazy mad about it, it's done."
  119.
  120. ----------------------
  121.
  122. "I do want you to change me back as soon as you figure out how though."
  123. >"I'll do my very best."
  124. "No offense, but I kinda liked being a guy, and I'm not too fond of losing that permanently."
  125. >"I understand. You have my word that I'll do everything in my power to fix you up."
  126. >Comforting words, but they were still just that: words.
  127. >The real comfort would be when you woke up to morning wood again.
  128. >"There is a silver lining though!"
  129. "Oh? And what's that?"
  130. >"The spell worked!"
  131. "What do you mean?"
  132. >"Aside from turning you into a girl, it worked perfectly! You teleported to the bed in my bedroom, right where I aimed to send you!"
  133. "That's great and all, but it's not home."
  134. >"No, but it -is- a foundation. I think I can figure out how to send you home, it's just a matter of balancing out the effects of the spells."
  135. "I don't follow."
  136. >"If I can teleport you, I have a foundation to work from. A spell that can move you. The rest is simple physics!"
  137. "What about the whole swapping out my gender thing?"
  138. >"And that. The point is, this shows real promise in eventually getting you home!"
  139. "That's great and all, but I want to go home as a guy, not a girl."
  140. "It's... weird. Like I'm me but borrowing someone else's body."
  141. >"Don't worry, we'll figure that out first. I'll make it my top priority."
  142. "You're a good friend, Twilight."
  143. >"I will need to run some more tests when you're out of the hospital though."
  144. "Whatever you've got to do to get my dick back, do it. So long as there aren't any surprise anal probes."
  145.
  146. ----------------------
  147.
  148. >"No probes. You get some rest; I'll talk to the doctor and tell him about your condition."
  149. >Finding no argument to warrant staying up, you yawned your agreement.
  150. >Twilight left you to your own devices, which mostly meant thinking about how fucking weird it is to not be in your own body.
  151. >You've got tits and a cooter now.
  152. >
  153. >
  154. >
  155. >You could get pregnant.
  156. >Shuddering at the thought of giving birth, you rolled over to let sleep overtake your exhausted body.
  157. >Apparently the spell drained a significant chunk of your own energy.
  158. >At least, that's how your tired mind rationalized it.
  159. >Sleeping led a rather disturbing dream your way.
  160. >You fucked yourself.
  161. >Literally.
  162. >And felt both sides.
  163. >It was weird.
  164. >
  165. >
  166. >
  167. >Staving off the weird dream, you slowly dredged yourself up from the dead, mind still groggy from all the info you had to take in the other night.
  168. >Twilight's attempts had all had side effects, sure, but this one didn't seem to be going away.
  169. >So long as you got your dick back soon, you could deal with this for a little while.
  170. >Maybe.
  171. >Being in an alien world full of talking pony creatures was still pretty freaky.
  172. >Combine that with now being tossed into a new body, and it made for a rather... weird feeling.
  173. >This wasn't your body. At least, not the one you're supposed to have.
  174. >It functions differently, moves differently, feels different.
  175. >Deciding not to think about it too much, you focused on getting out of this confining hospital room.
  176. >You weren't hooked up to any monitors or things of the like, more or less just tossed into bed it seems.
  177.
  178. ----------------------
  179.
  180. >Not being used to your new center of gravity, you stumbled forwards, leaning on the wall for support.
  181. >Doing so of course made a resounding thud, which prompted the nearby nurse to pop in and check on you.
  182. >"Anonymous! You should be in bed!"
  183. "I'm fine," you said, steadying yourself. "More or less."
  184. >"While the doctor did say you were in good medical standing, you still need to rest up."
  185. "I've been asleep for three days. I'm ready to get out of here."
  186. >"If you're sure," she said, walking in to collect your chart.
  187. >"Your clothes are in the chair on the other side of the bed."
  188. >Nodding your acknowledgement, you meandered over to the other side of the bed as the nurse left you to your facilities.
  189. >At least nobody will think weirdly of you for wearing boxers instead of panties.
  190. >Your pants still fit; socks were still socks, but your shirt...
  191. >Looking at the mirror over the sink, you had to admit.
  192. >Yeah, you would fuck you. Weird thought, but you didn't look half bad.
  193. >To you anyways.
  194. >
  195. >Disregarding the strange thought, you pulled your shirt on.
  196. >Of course it didn't fit. Well, not like it used to.
  197. >It was tight around your chest, almost restricting. Looking down, you noticed it was quite loose on your somewhat slimmed frame.
  198. >Your rather generous assets were going to cause problems for you, that much you already knew.
  199. >They weren't enormous, but they weren't something you'd get away with hiding either.
  200. >Stowing away yet more strange thoughts, you slowly walked out of your room to the front desk.
  201.
  202. ----------------------
  203.
  204. >Taking it slow, you made sure to have a hand ready to brace yourself against the wall, just in case.
  205. >It wasn't that bad, once you got used to it; you just had to hold yourself a little differently.
  206. >Once you got it down though, it felt pretty natural.
  207. >At least, as natural as a guy being stuck in a girl's body can be.
  208. >
  209. >The medical staff didn't really give you any special treatment, having visited them multiple times already.
  210. >You got a few second glances, but for the most part the staff probably assumed you were just experiencing yet another side effect of trying to get home.
  211. >They would of course be right, if that was in fact what they were thinking.
  212. >As your release papers were signed, you made your way back out into the blinding brightness of daytime.
  213. >Having pulled a stupid and not looked at a clock, you wagered it was around noon.
  214. >Ponies busy running up and down the streets of Ponyville, chitting and chatting about this and that.
  215. >Five months seemed to be enough time for most of the inhabitants to get used to seeing you around, and it appeared that your change in physical appearance wasn't drastic enough to warrant second glances.
  216. >The medical staff kinda made sense, if you really thought about it. They didn't see you -all- the time, just enough to get used to your general physique.
  217. >Walking back to Twilight's library was fairly uneventful; most of the ponies that were out and about were too involved in their own business to give you much thought.
  218. >Kind of refreshing, considering you didn't really feel like talking about what'd happened.
  219.
  220. ----------------------
  221.
  222. >If anything, you'd much rather become a hermit in Twilight's library until she figured out how to give you your pecker back.
  223. >The tits you could probably live with, but you wanted your dick back.
  224. >If all else fails, just get the dick back. Simple as that.
  225. >
  226. >Before you knew it, you were at the door to the library, knocking.
  227. >'Heh, almost autopilot at this point,' you thought to yourself.
  228. >Spike opened the door, as per usual.
  229. >"Woah. Anon? Is that you?"
  230. "Surprise," you said, stepping inside.
  231. >"What happened to your chest?" the little dragon asked, shutting the door.
  232. "Side effect."
  233. >"Another one? Didn't you just get rid of your tail?"
  234. "Mhmm," you murmured, not really focused on the conversation he was trying to carry.
  235. >"How long are you gonna be like this?"
  236. "Dunno. Hey, where's purple smart?"
  237. >"I heard that," Twilight groaned.
  238. "Never mind."
  239. >Following the direction Twilight's voice came from, you found her in her dungeon of science and maths.
  240. "Well, whatcha think?" you asked as you stepped down into the basement.
  241. >Looking up from whatever it was she was doing, she gave you her full attention.
  242. >While she looked you over, you picked up some... oddities about her.
  243. >Her mane, typically fairly well kept, was a bit ruffled, she looked like she had bags under her eyes, and just plain tired.
  244. >"So you're a female now?"
  245. "Thought we went through this at the hospital."
  246. >"Right, sorry. Do all female humans look like you?"
  247. "We went through this when we first met, remember? I asked you if all ponies looked like you."
  248.
  249. ----------------------
  250.
  251. >Twilight shook her head, mumbling to herself.
  252. "How long have you been at this?" you asked, wondering over to look at her little project.
  253. "Whatever this is?"
  254. >"Oh, just some tests."
  255. "Tests? On what?"
  256. >"I was trying to figure out why magic is acting so strange around you, but I haven't gotten anywhere."
  257. "Uh huh. How long did you say you've been at this?"
  258. >"Just a couple hours, why?"
  259. "You look like you haven't slept."
  260. >"Why would I sleep? It's just a few hours’ work; I'll have it done in no time!"
  261. "...You do know that it's a new day, right?"
  262. >Her blank stare told you all you needed to know in regards to that answer.
  263. "Twilight, get some sleep."
  264. >"But-"
  265. "Oh don't even. If it makes you feel better, I'm not doing it for you, I'm doing it for me."
  266. >"Huh?"
  267. "If you're trying to work like this, you might miss something or whatever."
  268. >"You saying I can't do it?"
  269. "Not like this you can't. Don't make me call Spike; you know I'll do it."
  270. >"Yeah? And what's -he- gonna do, huh?"
  271. "Distract you. Go to bed, Twilight. You probably drooled on your notes."
  272. >"Hey! I don't drool," she said, defiantly stamping her hoof.
  273. >The falter in her balance that followed said hoof stamping proved your point to her though.
  274. >"...Maybe just a quick nap."
  275. >As she slowly made her way up the stairs and back to the main landing, you went about cleaning up her mess.
  276. >She's not only given you a place to stay, but has been trying to get you back home for the past few months.
  277. >The least you could do is help her out.
  278. >Even if all her attempts had failed so far, it was the thought that counts.
  279.
  280. ----------------------
  281.
  282. >She's pretty good at what she does anyways.
  283. >You think.
  284. >Whatever it is she does.
  285. >Besides read. She's reeeaaally good at reading.
  286. >She has taken a good chunk out of her personal life for you though, regardless of what she does.
  287. >You'd seen her friends over more than a few times, and each time she'd continue researching a new spell to try.
  288. >Rainbow Dash, AJ, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, amongst a couple of other ponies that didn't show up near as often.
  289. >All of Twilight's friends seemed to take a similar stance towards you, save for Fluttershy.
  290. >She was the only one that would stick around and try to talk to you about whatever she could.
  291. >Despite the name, she could ramble. Something about you being something she'd never even heard of before.
  292. >Not that you really minded, she could cook a damn good steak.
  293. >While you thought it kinda weird that the ponies didn't freak at the idea of a large predator roaming around, you quickly discovered that they ate meat too.
  294. >Just not as much as you did.
  295. >Delicious meaty goodness.
  296. >She also kept going on about introducing you to a bear, so you made sure to keep your distance.
  297. >Just in case.
  298. >
  299. >As you finished up the last bit of cleaning and organizing, you plopped down in your usual chair.
  300. >It felt good to be home, even if you weren't awake for being cooped up in the hospital for three days.
  301. >Just knowing you'd been there for so long made you want to get away more.
  302. >
  303. >Home.
  304. >Huh.
  305. >You'd never really thought about it, but Twilight's library was starting to feel rather homey.
  306.
  307. ----------------------
  308.
  309. >Wondering around upstairs, you discovered there wasn't much to do in a library full of books you couldn't read.
  310. >Having nothing else to do, you sat down in the kitchen, letting your mind wander.
  311. >You couldn't really blame Twilight for what happened; she was trying to send you home.
  312. >She'd taken so many tests and notes on you, you were fairly certain she could just rebuild you at this point.
  313. >Having not really known you, she took you in almost immediately.
  314. >Initial 'where the fuck am I/how did I get here' bullshit, and she took it upon herself to send you home.
  315. >Now, five months later, she was still at it.
  316. >Five months, five attempts. Once a month.
  317. >She'd become your friend, a rather close one at that, given how much she now knew about you.
  318. >To be fair, you'd learned a fair bit about her as well.
  319. >She likes to eat daisies, can read at near the speed of light, and her mentor is the Princess running this country.
  320. >Maybe you could make dinner for her or something?
  321. >All’s you've done so far is clean up after a mess that wouldn't even be there if it weren't for you.
  322. "Spike?" you quietly called out.
  323. >It's a good thing Twilight's number one assistant was used to working in a library, the dragon had a good set of ears.
  324. >"Anon?" he asked, walking into the kitchen with you.
  325. "Hey, Spike, you busy?"
  326. >"Not really, why?"
  327. "Well, I've been thinking. Twilight's been through a lot for me, and I want to do something in return for her."
  328. >"Oh yeah? What're you gonna do?" he asked, hopping up on a chair.
  329. "I'm gonna cook her up a nice dinner."
  330.
  331. ----------------------
  332.
  333. >"You know how to cook?"
  334. "I know how to cook human food, not pony food. That's why I need your help."
  335. >"No problem! What can I do to help?"
  336. "Well, first off, I need you to read from a cook book for me. You know how to make any of Twilight's favorite foods?"
  337. >"Ummm... A few," he said, scratching the back of his head. "She really likes my cupcakes."
  338. "Great! If you can find a recipe involving daisies, I'll make that while you make your cupcakes."
  339. >"Alright!" he said, wondering off to find a cookbook.
  340. >It didn't take long, of course. Having lived here for as long as Twilight had, he knew his way around the library.
  341. >The recipe you and Spike picked out turned out to be some form what was basically a salad, but you made it anyways.
  342. >It had lots of daisies, and that's what mattered.
  343. >After you'd gotten that sorted away, you went to work on a food more to your pallet.
  344. >Chips and salsa sounded pretty good; being a recipe you'd gotten pretty used to, it didn't take long to whip some of those up either.
  345. >Well, the dip anyways. The chips Twilight had in a pantry.
  346. >Nothing quite like homemade chips and dip. The stuff the ponies ate was rather... bland.
  347. >At least, the stuff that you could stomach was. Maybe bland wasn't the right word...
  348. >It didn't have the kick you were used to.
  349. >Softer, maybe? Didn't really make a whole lot of sense, but it fit.
  350. >Spike enjoyed it at least, the young dragon having an affinity for spicy foods.
  351. >You did have to watch his cupcakes for him though, as he'd gotten a letter from the Princess shortly before it was time to take them out.
  352.
  353. ----------------------
  354.
  355. "Well? What was it?" you inquired as the young dragon padded back into the kitchen.
  356. >"Anonymous, you know I can't tell you without Twilight's permission."
  357. "Figures. Important pony government stuff, I'm sure."
  358. >"Something like that, yeah. It's for Twilight though, so I ca-"
  359. >"What's for me?"
  360. >Twilight's groggy voice reflected her current appearance. Like she'd just had a good god damned nap.
  361. "Well hello there, sleepy head."
  362. >She only mumbled some kind of acknowledgement as she shuffled towards the table.
  363. >"What are you two doing?" she asked, yawning.
  364. "Well, I figured that it was about time I started pulling my own, so to speak. So, with Spike's help, we made you dinner."
  365. >"Really? You didn't have to do that, Anonymous."
  366. "Yes, I did," you said, setting down the chilled daisy salad in front of the still groggy unicorn.
  367. "You've taken me in and taken a huge chunk of your personal time to try and help me out. It's the least I can do, Twilight."
  368. >She sniffed at the plate, poking at it with her hoof.
  369. >"Anon, are those daisies?"
  370. "Yup. Your favorite, right?"
  371. >"If I wasn't so tired I'd hug you."
  372. "Eat your vegetables, Twilight," you said, bringing the chips and dip over.
  373. >The only compliment to your chips and dip that you ate was a ham and cheese sandwich.
  374. >Thinking about all the work that Twilight had done for you with you having done so little left you with a rather diminished appetite.
  375. >"This is pretty good," she said, munching away at the salad.
  376. "I can't take all the credit, Spike read me the instructions. All’s I did was follow his directions."
  377.

  379.
  380. >"It's still really good," she said, swallowing another mouthful.
  381. "Oh, and Spike made dessert too," you said gesturing towards the now finished cupcakes.
  382. >"Aww, you guys didn't have to do that."
  383. "Spike's a pretty cool little dude," you said, munching away on your chips.
  384. >"Hey! I'm almost ten!"
  385. >You smirked, continuing on with your little monologue.
  386. "Anyways, did you get your sleep in?"
  387. >"I think so," she said, still working on her salad.
  388. "Just don't stay up all night like that again, okay?"
  389. >"I don't know how I went that long without looking at a clock..."
  390. "You should've gone to bed after you passed out the first time."
  391. >"I didn't pass out!"
  392. "Then why are there drool stains on some of your notes?"
  393. >Twilight's cheeks reddened as she slumped into her seat, munching away at her dinner.
  394. >"Woah, you drool in your sleep?" spike said through a mouthful of gems.
  395. >"No!"
  396. "Yeah. At least, when she's really tired."
  397. >
  398. >Dinner now finished, you went to cleaning the dishes as Spike ushered Twilight back to her bed.
  399. >You'd have to keep an eye on her over the next couple days; that much was certain.
  400. >Dealing with this body for a few days longer was worth it for Twilight to get the cure right.
  401. >She always found a cure or solution to whatever problem she was faced with.
  402. >At least, that you'd seen so far.
  403. >Save for getting you back home.
  404. >
  405. >Staving off those negative thoughts, you went back down to your living area in the basement, complete with a disturbingly comfortable cloud-bed-thingy held together by magic.
  406. >Getting as comfortable as you could in your new body, your mind slowly drifted off to glorious sleep.
