  8. [THE REVIEW]
  9. Fifth game in the series. Desmond woke up from his coma, and gets reunited with his father. They travel to a place that is of the old civilization, and they need to find the key. To find this key, Desmond has to get back into the Animus and live his ancestor, Haytham Kenway's life. He is a British man, of Italian heritage (As seen on his dark skin). After an assassination in a theater, he gets the key that they are looking for. He moves to the new world, to find the temple this key unlocks. While there, he is united with Charles Lee. In a mission to find the temple, he finds a woman named Kaniehti:io, or called Ziio. They make a deal that if he helps her, she will help him find the temple. They get romantically involved, and have intercourse, and becomes pregnant. After he has done his deed to help her, he is taken to the temple, but it's not what he thought, so he thinks the place is useless.
  10. After all this, it is revealed that Haytham Kenway is a Templar.
  11. Desmond then goes to another ancestor, Ratonhnhaké:ton, Haytham's son. He meets Charles Lee in the forest, where he burns down his village, and murders his mother. When Ratonhnhaké:ton grows up, he is given the task by the village's great mother to go seek out a man, named Achilles.
  12. Ratonhnhaké:ton finds Achilles in a big house. He is a black man, and a former assassin. He takes Ratonhnhaké:ton under his wings and gives him a new name: Connor. Connor is trained in the assassin's creed and ways, but he's too bitten by revenge that he can't see past that. He will do whatever it takes to kill Charles Lee, no matter what happens by the side.
  13. What is interesting is that you play as Desmond on missions to get artifacts. It's refreshing to play in new time.
  14.
  15. This game is the worst in the series. Connor is the most annoying character in the series, and one of the most in history of gameplay. He's like Anakin Skywalker is to Obi-wan, to every one that tries to help me. He whines, he moans, he is ungrateful, he's overly naive. He's not an interesting character, which is a shame because everyone else is interesting.
  16. The gameplay is also very stripped down. Like in the previous game, you have one weapon bound to one button and the ranged to the other. You also have the assassin recruits. But the recruits are so useless. I never saw a need to use them, because the fighting is easier. Except for when you meet the stronger. Then it doesn't matter how much you hit them, you have to be lucky. Don't bother buying weapons, for they don't matter. The hidden blades are as effective as the biggest axe. Stealth kills are way harder too. If you go behind and use the hidden blade, and no one looks, then you can kill. But use the bow, and you will be discovered.
  17. The climbing has a new system. But not the system I have been wanting. It's automatic. It's automatic to the point where it's harder to climb, because it's so broken. You hold down one button to climb everywhere. No skill, no nothing. You can climb impossible places, but when you want to go somewhere specifically, you sometimes have to fuck around all over the place, because Connor seeks to jump to what you don't.
  18. You find various chests around and have to pick the lock, but the system is so goddamned annoying. You first have to turn one of the sticks till you feel a vibration. Then you have to rotate the other til you feel a vibration. The you mash the fuck out of your trigger button. It's not only 3 times or so, no. It's like 15 times you have to push to open the easiest lock.
  19. Positive things are thought that you can now hunt in the forest. Negative here is that when you are to hunt bears, wolves and deers, you have to go through a boring, predictable quick time event. If you fail, then you lose most of your health.
  20.
  21. The buildings are smaller in this game too, since its the collonial America. But you can go out to the wilderness and climb trees and such. Sounds cool, eh? But there is nothing there. So it gets boring to do. You just want to find shortcuts, but there aren't any.
  22.
  23. Pros:
  24. Many characters are great.
  25. You finally play as Desmond on a mission
  26. The story is actually very good.
  27. Hunting
  28. Climbing trees
  29. Guns
  30.
  31. Cons:
  32. CONNOR. Fuck Connor. I felt more for the enemy than Connor. When the enemy lay on the ground, dying, I felt for him, but when Connor opened his mouth, I wish that he lay dying instead.
  33. The climbing system is too automated and it's broken
  34. The weapons don't do shit.
  35. No armour
  36. Guns take years to reload, unlike the wrist gun in AC2
  37. QTE in hunting. I don't mind QTE, but it was so badly made.
  38. Lockpicking is boring
  39. Small buildings.
  40. Recruits aren't doing anything good.
  41. The wilderness is the most boring thing to go through
  42. Horses have no stamina at all, they run for 3 seconds and then they can't run anymore.
  43. Connor.
  44.
  45. [FINAL CONCLUSION]
  46. This is a game you play for the story. This is a game that was broken and rushed to be finished. If you want to continue the story of Assassin's Creed, then get it. But if you want a well made game, don't get it.
  47.
  48. [SCORE OUT OF 100]
  49. 65
  50. Story and characters can't hold up a whole game.
