- CLOAKERS IN MEGA MAN STAR FORCE 3
- Feature #1: Reduce encounter check frequency
- - Normal: first encounter check after 400 steps, then every 15 steps.
- - Cloaker: first encounter check after 600 steps, then every 45 steps.
- - When Cloaker is activated, effect starts after the next encounter check.
- - Step counter increases by 1 per frame on which you are moving in most areas
- - Increases by 1.2 per frame in CC Abyss, or by 0.8 in Event Stage CC and all areas containing "Noise" in their name.
- - Cloaker lasts for 2500 frames on which you are moving, regardless of area.
- - If necessary, you can maximize the effect by using it just before the next encounter check (so after about 6 seconds of walking after entering the area).
- Feature #2: Filter battles with 100% run rate
- - Every battle has a hidden 'battle level' that together with your max HP determines your run rate.
- - If your base (unboosted) HP divided by 10 exceeds the battle level of a random encounter, then Cloaker will filter it.
- - Unlike in MMBN, battle level can vary between encounters in the same area, and Cloaker filtering is done BEFORE the game chooses the encounter.
- - This means that your overall encounter rate is not affected unless you have enough HP to Cloaker every single battle in the area.
- - In other words, you either get the normal encounter rate (not counting feature #1) or no encounters at all.
