  7. +nationalparksign __ Good comment. The reason the "astronauts" spend such a goodly amount of their time talking to children (or to adults who have audiences of children) *is because the "ISS" is a platform for impressing beliefs upon children.* It's that simple.

  9. Every kid wants to be an "astronaut" and to be in "space". I know it fascinated me as a kid.

  11. When an "astronaut" says the environment is in danger - _then by golly and by crikey_ - it's in danger!

  13. There are a lot of "environmentalist" themes etc. It would be insightful to collect portions from the "ISS" videos where the "astronauts" are giving their "advice" to children ("study hard", "choose science and math", "dream big") etc.

  19. Where a "politician" is typically despised and at the bottom of the pile - fire and ambulance tend to be at the "top of the trusted professions". You will probably find "astronaut" is even higher up but it is never listed.

  23. That is just one of the ways the trick is done. Many people enter "astronaut training" *but only a handful get to make videos about brushing their teeth in zero gravity.*

  25. It would be so much easier for people to hate on us if it was NOT a SELECTED occupation. Because then they could say - *"anyone can be an 'astronaut' - even if you - so it can't be fake"*.

  27. (Kind of like how any of us can become a journalist - though I'm sure only *certain journalists* get to cover certain events like the alleged "Boston Marathon Bombing"!)
