Pablo Rates VGMC Retirees

Decided last night to rate all vgmc retirees on a whim. While the ratings are accurate, as you can probably see the descriptions are extremely informal. If you're unfamiliar with my rating style, heres a quick overview

0- Pretty self explanatory, its the worst of the worst
1- Extremely bad to listen to but something in it saves it from getting a 0.
2- Most bad songs fall around this category, if it got a 2 its probably terrible and made me annoyed while listening to
3- Still annoying to listen to but its tolerable. Something i could listen to once, forget about, and then move onto something better
4- Anything thats painfully medicore gets a 4. Not much else to it
5- The baseline rating. Anything that gets a 5 is neutral, i felt nothing while listening to it.
6- Anything around a 6 is just ok. Usually its nothing special but its not terrible either. The equivalent to stock music.
7- Heres where things start getting good. A 7 is above average, its not super good but I liked it
8- Pretty good stuff. Something I'd listen to every now and then when i remember it.
9- Absolute bangers that I can listen to whenever. Usually some of my favorite songs are a 9.5 or higher.
10- The best of the best, Another self explanatory rating, if its a 10 its perfect or pretty damn close to it.

Anyway now that thats done, here are the ratings. Went down the list alphabetically on the spreadsheet, starting with 7th dragon.

Last Location of Mankind- 6.5/10 good but got me schleep

Liberation of Gracemeria- 6.5/10 ace combat

Zero- 7.5/10 this was not worth a 9.5 wtf was i thinking

White Devil- 7.5/10 good ace combat

Air- 6/10 pianos are a cool instrument ngl

Alan Wake- 7/10 cool i guess?

Seize the Truth- 8/10 first track i really like

Exsphere- 9/10 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Hidra- 7/10 i forgot if i uploaded this track or not. i need to get back to uploading the rest of nosurge soon

Sphllia- 4/10 damn this sucks

Moon Dwelling- 7.25/10 YOOOOOOOOOOOO THIS IS FUNKY AF but not good af

Second Tower- 5/10 aight then

Protocol- 3.5/10 cant vibe to this

Invitation Autumn- 7/10 cool xylophone wish the song was better

Slag Dance- 7/10 always hear a lot about this song and it wasnt able to live up to the hype

Tomorrows Opponents- 9/10 it was good also forgot to write this part in flash frost is playing right now gotta rate that

Flash Frost- 8.5/10 its no yesterdays opponents

Flying Clouds- 5.5/10 what a way to end off the atelier zone

Face of Fact- 7.5/10 its good i guess

Innocence or Emptiness- 4.5/10 not good

Ruins of Silence- 5/10 no

Shut Up and Jam- 9.5/10 Classic

Dark Legacy- 5.5/10 the piano or whatever the instrument is here is so subdued its killing me here

Despair- 4.5/10 discount atelier

Papillions- 9/10 whoops looks like you were worth a 9 after all

Serpent Eating Ground- 7.5/10 why the snake gotta eat the ground like that?

Wicked Fight- 7/10 Fairy Fountain type beat

Castle Crashers- 7/10 its cool  i guess

Dream of Shore- 9/10 very chill and good

Time's Scar- 9.25/10 banger

Dreamwatch of Time- 5/10 very dissapointing end to the chrono cross on this list

Corridors of Time- 9.5/10 classic

Baba Yetu- 7.5/10 your grammy, hand it over

ClaDun- 7.5/10 its a nice vibe

Clannad- 9.5/10 AFTER MONTHS IVE FOUND THIS SONG

Monolith- 7/10 i like the energy but i wish it actually went somewhere with it

Price of Freedom- 5/10 freedom is about $7, might go on sale soon tho

Six Feet Under- 9/10 one of the best from this ost but just one of them

Revenger- 9.5/10 timeless banger

Chocolate Missile- 9/10 sounds delicious

Dark Cloud- 7.9/10 its funky its fancy its kinda just above average

Deemo- 4/10 the positive streak is over

Demon Truck- 5.5/10 its just kinda there, nothing super crazy for me

Paper Dolls- 5/10 nah bruh i fold

Fear Factory- 5/10 never got the hype behind this track

Gangplank- 5/10 please dont tell me every donkey kong track is gonna be a 5

Forest Interlude- 8.5/10 ah yes, the second coming of christ

Sticklerbush- 9.5/10 ah yes, the third coming of christ

Dra+koi- 3/10 physically recoiled when i heard this

Black Song- 7/10 its pleasant i guess

The Moon- 7/10 classic

You're Not Alone- 7.5/10 its pretty good, but lacking somehow. kinda quiet

Battle on the Bridge- 5/10 that was music

The Extreme- 9.65/10 started up extremely bad but holy shit did it pick up

Seymour Battle- 9/10 really good stuff

Someday This Dream Will End- 9.5/10 was one of my all time favorite final fantasy songs up until i heard the extreme

To Zanarkand- 7.5/10 shoutout to the cyoa crew for making me hate this song

Fire Emblem Fates- 2.5/10 hard pass on this

G-Darius- 2.5/10 wtf is this

Ginga Force- 7/10 its ginga force alright

Douwa Kairou- 4.5/10 things have been going downhill fast since we left the final fantasy zone

Moon Over Castle- 6.5/10 another song another rerating

Laguerra del Mundo- 5/10 i hate using the word generic but thats what this is

Rapal- 8.5/10 very good granado track, one of these days i'll get to listening to the full ost

New World Order- 7/10 your funky violins wont give you any bonus points with vocals like this

Grandia 2- 5/10 sentai type beat

Riches In Me- 5.5/10 oh yeah this is a guilty gear track

Halo 2- 9.5/10 get the fuck out of the bathroom already

Higurashi- 9/10 classic

Homestuck- 5/10 the war on whether or not homestuck is vgm or not continues to this day

Shop Theme- 6.5/10 the hype didnt carry it

Shining Wizard- 7/10 i like the guitar on this

Chloe- 5/10 slightly funkier version of a jrpg town

KINGDOM Orchestra- 9.5/10 not my favorite kingdom hearts song but goddamn its still amazing

Zero Two- 10/10 bruh its zero two do i really have to explain why it deserves a 10/10?

Lamento- 8.5/10 i like the style on this track

Legend of Mana- 5/10 never noticed how many games have mana in the title until now

Battle #3- 5/10 kinda underwhelming

Last Duel- 5/10 i dont remember the lufia 2 ost being this underwhelming

Big Blue- 6.5/10 cool sax but it cant carry this song

Suicide Mission- 9.5/10 some amazing orchestral stuff here

Dr. Wily- 9.5/10 dont have to explain this one

Sparkman- 5.5/10 not super sure how i feel about this but i dont hate it

Mega Man 3 Title- 9.5/10 fought hard for a 10 but couldnt reach it

X vs Zero- 9/10 another classic track i love

Metal Gear Solid 2- 9.5/10 such an amazing song

Metal Gear Solid 3- 9.75/10 such an amazing song [2]

Metal Beat- 5/10 why do people like this

Windy Day- 7.5/10 not bad at all

Monty on the Run- 7.5/10 super good but also super overrated

Wild Wind- 5/10 boring

Tin Soldiers- 6.5/10 wish the entire song had the same energy as the last half. a lot of wasted potential here

Emil 5/10 your funky bongos wont be enough to save you from being average

Shadowlord- 9.5/10 BRUH THAT CHURCH OPENER AND THEN BATTLE TRANSITION COMBO GETS ME EVERY TIME. SUCH A BANGER

Song of Ancients- 9.5/10 such a dope vibe i love it. one of my favorite discoveries of the night next to seymour

Amusement Park- 9/10 a banger but not the best from automata

Reset- 7.5/10 i like the flute

The Sun Rises- 9.5/10 super cool song love the melody

Tomorrow- 7/10 this game is funny af lmao

Memories of You- 9.5/10 such a classic

Battle For Everyone's Souls- 9.5/10 one of the best persona tracks of all time

Last Surprise- 4.5/10 fuck last surprise all my homies hate last surprise

Rivers in the Desert- 9.5/10 fucking love it

steelchambers2- 4/10 yeah this kinda sucks

Pop'N 18- 4/10 its very annoying

Last Time Travel- 9.5/10 i love layton vibes like this

Ragnarok Online 2- 5/10 couldnt vibe to this

Courtney Gears Battle- 9.5/10 one of the best ratchet and clank tracks. this series needs more love ost wise

Luna Ascension- 9/10 tower of heaven is good, not much else to say here

Battle with Saruin- 4/10 hurts just a bit to listen to

Shenmue- 5/10 not much going on here but its not terrible

Dorchadas- 8.25/10 heard this before somewhere but cant remember where

Strike the Earth- 5/10 never was super huge on the shovel knight ost

Theme of Laura- 9.5/10 i've said classic a lot in this set of ratings, but this is probably the ultimate classic right here. timeless song that gets the love it deserves

Sol Survivor- 9.5/10 another dope discovery

Re-CODA- 9/10 i keep forgetting this track. extremely good

Rusty Ruins Zone Act 2- 9.5/10 at first i wasnt able to get into this but it picked up fast

Big Arms- 9.75/10 YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Solaris Phase 2- 5.5/10 not the best track in the 06 ost

Sora- 5/10 feel like ive somehow stumbled back into 2008

Sound Voltex 3- 7.5/10 it sounds cool but isn't really cool

Skyclad Observer- 9.5/10 lets do the time warp again

Yoru no Himawari- 7.25/10 it sounds alright

Bloody Tears- 6.5/10 i cant vibe to much castlevania tracks. when they hit they hit and this just barely hits

Dire Dire Docks- 5.5/10 what a weird mario 64 song to retire

Buoy Base- 7.5/10 one of the best from the smg ost

Beware the Forest Mushrooms- 6/10 the usual track where all i have to say is just "its alright"

Trombe!- 7/10 i enjoyed it a bit but def wouldnt listen again

Bramble Blast- 5.5/10 never have i see a song so gassed up in my life

King Dedede- 4.5/10 probably my least favorite version of king dedede's theme

Shin Onigashima- 4.5/10 yeah no

Mother 2- 5/10 this is painfully mediocre

Starry Heavens- 5.5/10 feel like i should like this song but i dont

Meaning of Birth- 3/10 i just wasted 3 minutes of my life listening to this i want them back

Flaming Bonds- 7.25/10 the funky synths with guitar that come in the later half saved this song

1NF3S+@+!0N- 5.5/10 could never get the hype behind this song

Servants of Scourge- 5.5/10 well this song existed. not much to say at all aside from it being boring, but still decent

Whereabouts of Light- 7.5/10 i liked it, vocals were cool. if the song was better i'd probably have more to say

Silver Will- 7.5/10 its really good but the instruments ruin the song a bit. not only that but it just feels empty somehow

Tal Tal Heights- 7.25/10 its got a good beat going but thats all it has

Gerudo Valley- 7/10 classic zelda song

Dragon Roost Island- 6.5/10 the wind waker ost feels so forgettable sometimes to me, this track not being an exception

Staff Roll- 6.5/10 see rating above

Daddy Mulk- 10/10 best rtvgm discovery for me

Rhythm Red- 9.5/10 super chill and i love the vibe on this track

Lunatic Eyes- 9/10 probably one of THE touhou songs so im not surprised to see this retire

Golden Slaughter- 9.5/10 its the umineko zone lets see how many 9s and above i drop here

Hope- 8.5/10 still good but damn looks like the 9 streak ends early

worldenddominator- 9.5/10 wonder how many 9.5s i'm going to end up giving here

Happiness of Marionette- 9.5/10 its a fun track to listen to

miragecoordinator- 9.5/10 i dont think i ever mentioned this but i always thought the umineko songs where the names have no spaces are kinda cool. i dont mean the songs when i say that, just the names. songs are pretty damn good tho

dreamenddischarger- 9.9/10 its a song that keeps on giving

Endless Nine- 9/10 wow endless nine got a 9 what are the odds

discolor- 9.5/10 thought the 9 streak would end here but it didnt

Life- 9/10 9 streak staying strong

The Executioner- 9.5/10 crash bandicoot type beat

lastendconductor- 7.5/10 its no dreamenddischarger

Ricordando il Passato- 9.5/10 sorry i dont speak italian

ASGORE- 9.5/10 one of the best from the undertale ost

Megalovania- 9.5/10 no comment

Piercing the Sky- 9.5/10 yeah its the usual VVVVVV

Positive Force- 6.5/10 barely positive rating

Potential for Anything- 6.5/10 just like umineko's 9 streak, we may have a 6.5 streak going

Pushing Onwards- 6/10 most of VVVVVV's stuff is just kinda average to me, only exception being piercing the sky

Diving- 5.5/10 i listened to some noise for a solid 6 minutes

The Battlefield Flower- 7.5/10 title lied i was promised violin and got spicy bongos as a combo package

Into the Wilderness- 7/10 i liked the vibe but that was all i liked

Frozen Depths of the Heart- 5.5/10 shit this was a wild track. shame it able to match its energy with quality

Persephone- 6.5/10 its really just ok, nothing special about it but its not bad either

Engage the Enemy- 6.5/10 forgot i was listening to it for a bit. not bad still

Unfinished Battle- 6.5/10 i just listened to the exact same song moments ago

Torna Battle!!- 7.5/10 jazzy

Small Two of Pieces- 5/10 let out a nice big yawn when i heard this track

Communication Breakdown- 4.5/10 out of the two songs i know called communication breakdown this is easily the worst

Godsibb- 7.5/10 cool name song on the other hand is kinda cool i guess

Desert of Despair- 7.5/10 ys is a funny name

Innocent Primeval Barrier- 6.5/10 the guitar rift on this was oddly insulting

Sunshine Coastline- 6/10 i liked the style of this track but everything else was extremely boring

False God of Casualty- 5/10 and so the list of retirees ends not with a bang, but whatever this is
