Right now my party is:
Saito Mizushima (the MC) at Lv14, his persona's Seimen Kongou.
Maki Sonomura (that weird chick that's apparently really important for the plot) at Lv13, her persona's Maso.
Kei Nanjo (the rich boy with glasses) at Lv13, his persona's Urvashi (the only fusion I made so far)
Masao Inaba (The dude with. a hat who's close to Maki) at Lv13, his persona's Ogun.
And Brown, who's apparently the worst 5th Party member available and is at Lv13, his persona's Nemhain.

In terms of Plot I have to go to the Abandoned Factory, I triggered the elevator thingy to the basement or 2F and instead of moving forward I just went back and decided to grind a bit.

Keep in mind that although P1 is an relatively complex game in terms of battle and fusion mechanics, you actually don't need to fuse new personas or do manual battle that often. By the way, read up on fusion theory on the Persona 1 wikidot to learn how to fusion with tablets works.
