- Super-soldier John-117, Master Chief of the United Nations Space Command, must battle a genocidal alien race known as the Covenant following his violent crash-landing on Halo, an ancient and mysterious ring-world.
- Mankind is being destroyed by a conglomerate of alien races all under the flag of the Covenant. A human spaceship is under attack and has no chance to survive, and now the only hope for mankind is for the Spartan-II forged Master Chief to make sure the Covenant do not get a hold of the ship's AI, and thus discovering the location of Earth. But the survivors of the ship are stranded on a strange alien planet called Halo, and everything is stacked against them. It becomes a desperate battle as the brave crew, lead by the Master Chief and the AI Cortana, try to survive the Covenant's assault.
- Okay when I was about 12 this was one of my favourite games, period. To the game's credit it's pretty easy to see why. Personally though over the time of discovering more games and how good they can really get I started to see this entire series as less of a "it lives up to it's reputation" and more of a "It's overrated, but I still enjoy playing some of these games." Okay the plot is that in a Human/Alien War the humans find an ancient, mysterious and powerful alien weapon that might have the ability to wipe out all life as we know it, if someone were to use it for that cause. You play a superhuman soldier trying to stop this from being used.<br/><br/>Okay so as far as plot goes, it's thin and only serves as a way for the game-play. With that said the game-play is fun, while not the best I've seen for a shooter game and the AI isn't that far away from standard DOOM AI it still is just a lot of fun to run around, shooting stuff, blowing stuff up and use human and alien vehicles to do exactly almost everything I've just said. The best aspect of this game however is the soundtrack. I'm not kidding it is some of the best music I have heard in a video game.<br/><br/>So if you have never played this game, I would say it's worth a little look but nothing really beyond that. I mean it's a fun game and all but even for it's time it wasn't one of the greats that everybody is building it up to be. If you're looking for just a fun little shooter which at it's essence is really just shooting stuff, blowing stuff up and driving while doing those exact same things then this is for you.
- Halo is a kick as first person shooter that rules over all. This game is the only reason you need to buy an x-box if you're still wondering if you should get one or not. Playing on the single player mission mode at the legendary(most difficult) setting will keep you busy for months. Then you get an awesome multi-player game that will do two things: A. Kick your freakin A$$ and B. Keep you playing for ever!(or until the sequel comes out)
- Halo: Combat Evolved takes place in the twenty-sixth century. Reach is a space colony where Spartan-II soldiers are recalled to, to prepare for a mission to discover the Covenant's home world. Two days before the mission was to begin, Covenant forces attack Reach and destroy the colony. However, the starship Pillar of Autumn survives the attack and initiates a hyperspace jump to lure the enemy away from Earth. Yes. After the credits end, the Monitor can be seen zooming through space, having survived Halo's destruction. a5c7b9f00b
