His brown shock of unkempt, medium length hair and his vibrant, curious brown eyes merely add to this childlike, playfully innocent impression, as do the rest of his facial features… [[LetsGetDangerous most of the time.]] He is most commonly seen wearing a red oriental martial arts uniform, with a small, black, stylized logo resembling clawmarks on the right breast of his silken shirt and black, loose-fitting track pants for ease of movement. Two orange-black gauntlets of a sleek, ergonomic make can be seen on his hands at all times, and a small, ornate golden ball embossed with the image of a curled Chinese dragon is always around his neck.


[[http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/winback/WallpaperGakiranger.jpg  When he catalyses his Fierce Ki and transforms, however,]] his appearance drastically changes – any extraneous item that was previously on his person temporarily disappears from sight, and he is covered in a protective costume formed from pure Ki energy – a full-body suit of red spandex, with large, black, scratch-like streaks stretching along the sides, arms and shoulders.  The same logo from before is transposed to his chest, though much larger and outlined in white this time around. He also dons a glossy, heavily stylized helmet, influenced after the head of a tiger and holding a black, tapering visor that allows him to see out of it without revealing his identity.

!!Mastery of Martial Arts


Jan is a master of multiple forms of the Beast Fist, a pugilistic school which allows the user to channel and attain the power of various animals, resulting in superhuman attributes and abilities. As its most powerful practitioner, Jan is one of the most skilled martial artists on the planet, and thus even in his untransformed state possesses the speed, reflexes and uncanny ability expected from any one of his rank, as well as a certain amount of superhuman prowess added to the mix. For example, in his civilian form he is capable of doing things like scrambling up the sheer sides of buildings on all fours, propelling a rowboat forwards at speeds outstripping a shark with half an oar in each hand, and surviving impacts from falling trees with minimal damage.


!!Sensitivity to Power / Emotions

 As Jan was raised in the forest by wild animals, he possesses a remarkably acute sense of smell, one that can pick out certain auras and ki from a great distance, especially that of malicious intent. With that in mind, he is able to discern the base emotions of his opponents with clarity, though it is the scent of evil that is the most powerful. Similarly, he is extremely sensitive to power levels, and can usually tell the prowess of a being after nothing but a few seconds of observation.


!!Transformation
By utilizing the Ki-catalysing properties of his [=GekiChangers=], Jan can use his power to transform into [=GekiRed=], red warrior of the Gekirangers. In this form, he gains the ability to use his signature techniques, and all his attributes get general boosts. Further on, he can use the Super [=GekiClaw=] to go one more step up and become Super [=GekiRed=], where he can use his Ki to fly a la jetpack-style, gains powered-up versions of most of his attacks, and gets further boosts to his abilities. His normal transformation is preceded with a cry of "Boil over, power of the beasts! Beast On!" For his powered-up transformation, it is "Super Beast On!", though just "Beast On!" will suffice for both.


!!Enhanced Physical Attributes
In all three of his forms, Jan possesses great strength, remarkable speed and impressive skill. However, his most important attribute is his incredible durability – he is the personification of ‘Body’ among his team, and is thus resistant to many forms of physical hurt, always using his power to strike back at his opponent after overpowering them in physical combat.

!!Ki manipulation
Jan is capable of using the styles of both schools of the Beast Fist, and thus can utilize both branches of ki: the orange flames of the ‘just’ Fierce Ki (Geki), fuelled by feelings of righteous protectiveness, and the purple fire of the ‘evil’ Confrontation Ki (Rinki), which is advanced through anger, rage and other such negative emotions. He uses both for justice, despite the latter’s seeming connotations, however, and so applies both in various situations. He can use his Ki to augment his physical attacks, activate free flight (SuperMode only) and perform his Ki techniques, which are covered in greater detail below. When he chooses to, he can make the energy in his body flare out in a powerful inferno, which contains both great concussive force and powerful heat.


!! Ki Techniques

Jan has mastered all of the skills of the Confrontation Beast School, and three styles of the Fierce Beast School. By combining elements from all of these into his own physical style, he is able to exceed the power of both – but the various techniques still prove an invaluable tool in combat. Also, he can summon his [=GekiBeasts=] to aid him in combat, though this is an optional feature and can be removed on GM request. Please note that none of the giant combining mecha featured in the rest of the article can actually be formed, lacking the other [=GekiBeasts=].


!Equipment
Jan possesses a wide variety of weapons and tools, mostly developed by the sportswear company/ undercover martial arts school SCRTC.

Orange-black gauntlets that are always on his hands, these act as catalysts for him to accelerate his Ki and transform. They also allow him to store many of his weapons in a compact, pocket dimension, though their capacity is severely limited and (for the purposes of this RP) will only carry about as much as a large (and mostly full) suitcase.

[[http://images.wikia.com/powerrangers/images/b/b0/JF-Junglechucks.jpg  Used in a pair, these orange-black Nunchuks]] can be whipped around with great precision and speed, allowing Jan to disarm his opponents and bludgeon them repeatedly with hard, fast strikes. When Fierce Ki is channeled through them, they trail luminous orange streaks of searing energy that drastically increase both their power and range.

They can fuse together in Twin Sword Combination Mode to form a single, large weapon, which holds much greater power and reach, but is slightly slower.


!!![= Transformation Grip Super GekiClaw=]

In its weapon state, it is wielded as his final form’s primary weapon. Its sharp blades are incredibly resistant and keen.

It takes less than a second to charge, though the cooldown is considerable, and it fires a large, powerful globe of Fierce Ki at high speeds.

!!!  Fist Demon Bracelet

A bracelet made from three, intersecting silver bands, Jan wears this on his left wrist at all times, though they serve no practical purpose now that their power is gone. It has great emotional significance to him.

!!! Doukokugan

A small, golden ball containing the sealed form of a vastly powerful immortal entity. Though it too, serves no practical purpose and is effectively irreversible, Jan will go to great lengths to protect it, having sacrificed much in the process of sealing the being in the first place.

!!Why did you pick this Character?


Gekiranger is one of my favorite Sentai series, and Jan is one of my favorite characters. With his fun, quirky personality, interesting abilities and deep backstory, it wasn't hard for me to decide on playing him.

Besides, kung fu.
