  1. [18:05] In truth, the volcano would have been the perfect place to do this work. Second best would have been the fields of Ezmara, if the city hadn't been already reclaimed by nature.
  2.
  3. Third best? She figured that would be Atl's pool. Ohtli inhales deeply and starts to take measure of the space they had to work with. The Drakan rummages about in the myriad pockets of her poncho and likewise takes stock of the items therein.
  4.
  5. "You've been keeping up in your practice?"
  6. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [18:09] Keaka thumbs his ring in instinctive response. His sole prize from his foray into real, hands-on purification. While he was proud of his accomplishment, there was a touch of hesitation. And now more than anything he wishes he had Amara's support on this.
  10.
  11. The drakan swallowed. "Yes. I've been. Dedicating my body my mind. My blood. I've been meditating every day. It's just." There was a distinctive pause. "I'm a bit worried. I thought about the last time I tried purification rite and it didn't feel so great."
  12.
  13. If there was a time to be honest, now was better than never. "But. I know I'm afraid. I know that's okay."
  14. (Keaka Tezcacoatl)
  15. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16.
  17. [18:13] The Drakan begins to remove a few of the non-essentials. Some pouches, gear, her blade. She sets them all aside. There are few material things she will truly need for this rite.
  18.
  19. Ohtli removes a lacquered box from her poncho and sets it down among the lush, verdant grass. Her ceremonial dagger goes alongside it, the tool she's done countless blood-lettings with.
  20.
  21. "I've no doubt of that. That you've been working hard."
  22.
  23. She turns to look at him, still exuding the same sense of ease that came with not only her attunement to magic, but with plenty of practice. The elder is just that- an elder- and has had all the experience the title comes with.
  24.
  25. "You can accept that you are afraid. It's only natural. Today we have nothing to fear of. Tell me, Keaka. What happens after we die?"
  26.
  27. It's a simple question. Is it a trick?
  28. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [18:21] What happens after we die?
  32.
  33. "We return to the land, don't we? We become spirits among the many."
  34.
  35. Key spoke like he was recieting lines from a textbook, only paraphrased. His eyes followed Ohtli, looking over the items placed aside. An inquisitive eyebrow quirked while he talked. Specifically in reaction to the box. The knife, he was too familiar with.
  36.
  37. "But is that it? After we die?"
  38. (Keaka Tezcacoatl)
  39. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  40.
  41. [18:25] The Drakan crouches, flipping the lid of the box open.
  42.
  43. "It can be. Like with many things, my hatchling, it depends."
  44.
  45. Within the box, nestled among a bundle of dried herbs, is an egg. Not just any egg. An egg that's made from some manner of glistening metal. It's etched all around with designs that glow a sullen, magma red.
  46.
  47. "Some of us pass on into other forms, entering a cycle of renewal. Some spirits become something else in the next life, among the other realms. And others...linger. Especially if they have unfinished business.
  48.
  49. "Your answer is not wrong, though. Death is never the end. Not a -real- end as some might believe."
  50.
  51. She remains crouched beside the box and folds her legs beneath her.
  52.
  53. "Today we are going to do something much larger, Key. We're going to call a spirit here, to the physical and mortal world. Do you have any questions before we begin?"
  54. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  55. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  56.
  57. [18:33] An egg!
  58.
  59. Keaka peered curiously into the box. There were many good qualities about an egg. The roundness, the simple white-shelled exterior...
  60. And the drakan felt his own train of thought derail and returned himself back to the matter at hand.
  61.
  62. In all actuality the object within the box piqued him so. And Ohtli gave little clue as to what it was or what it was for. It confused him more than anything, to believe that this would be the cornerstone for spirit calling?
  63.
  64. "Well I'd like to ask about the egg, but I'm sure that'll be answered in a minute. I have no question. I'm ready for it."
  65.
  66. The drakan flourished his wings and scattered a flurry of feathers in true dramatic conviction. And as if coming to answer the call as well, Ithaca's spidergrip scarf made an appearence.
  67. (Keaka Tezcacoatl)
  68. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  69.
  70. [18:38] "It helps to have something that belongs to the spirit to draw it back to the mortal world. This once belonged to someone- and even has their mana within."
  71.
  72. She can still recall keenly the expedition into the old Agarthan caverns. All the glittering treasures, the danger. It was a simpler time when Ezmara still was standing and the man still lived and breathed, was present to offer guidance to her.
  73.
  74. Maybe the memories will help draw him back. Those, the egg infused with his essence still, and even bringing along a child that was given his namesake. It all felt fitting to her and somehow right.
  75.
  76. "We will begin after you make a circle of blood around us. Pray as you do to ward off the uninvited."
  77. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  78. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  79.
  80. [18:46] Windsor says, "There we are. Thanks, you two."
  81. [18:47] "Ah, I see now. You told me about that once upon a time."
  82.
  83. The memories come back to him and it all made sense. Though the whole ritual of calling someone back as a spirit? That was a whole question by itself. So it was best to follow the elder drakan's lead. And that today he may learn something great.
  84.
  85. Keaka runs his thumb along the purified ring to calm himself down. There was something like apprehension that formed like a ball in his chest. The fear of the unknown? Or the fact that he was finally going to see some real spiritmancy in action.
  86.
  87. This would be a momentous dive beneficial to his studies.
  88.
  89. Answering Ohtli's request, the quetzal-blessed took his mythril dagger and ran the flat end of the blade along his pock-marked arm. The well-maintained metal shone a clear reflection of his gaze. A glimmer of excitement and the shine of conviction.
  90.
  91. Uh, hopefully he had enough blood to encircle the both of them.
  92.
  93. Today was a good day to spill his blood. And a venture into how much of it he could spill without it being fatal proved to be quite the foray. A small stream of blood started to his left and a steady stream of it was drawn around the two drakanites. An indistinct prayer can be heard mumbled under his breath.
  94.
  95. For the spirits, the Serpent, and the like.
  96. (Keaka Tezcacoatl)
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98.
  99. [18:50] Ohtli Tezcacoatl whispers: Your father is here, I see...After this, please try to keep him from worrying about what I have to do here in a few moments. Alright?
  100. [18:50] Ohtli Tezcacoatl whispers: I don't imagine he's going to be very happy about it.
  101. [18:51] Keaka Tezcacoatl whispers: I'll make an effort.
  102. [18:51] Ohtli Tezcacoatl whispers: Good. You're a good son. And student.
  103. [18:51] you can try
  104. (Keaka Tezcacoatl)
  105. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  106.
  107. [18:51] it's over.
  108. (Kuhn)
  109. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  110.
  111. [18:51] you are like a little baby
  112. (Mital Vindict)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [18:51] a small babe.
  116. (Kuhn)
  117. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  118.
  119. [18:51] everybody's super sonic racing
  120. (Windsor)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [18:52] eep
  124. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  125. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  126.
  127. [18:53] The Drakan looks over her shoulder. Ah. An audience. Either way, it had to be done all the same. She flashes a small smile in their direction, adding a nod to the astrologist in particular. Mother and son work side by side to prepare the ritual grounds.
  128.
  129. Beside Atl's pool is a circle of blood, surrounding the two Quetzal-blessed.
  130.
  131. Ohtli rises from where she's crouched and approaches the circle Keaka has made. She touches it and whispers yet another prayer, punctuating its end with a sharp whistle. Blue fire rises and, like a fuse, it follows the trail of blood to enclose the both of them in a circle of ghostly flames.
  132.
  133. "For those watching, I encourage silence, please. At least until we're finished."
  134. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  135. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  136.
  137. [18:54] Get ur feet straight off the ground
  138. (Akane)
  139. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  140.
  141. [18:57] With a small entourage at his side, Windsor finally happened upon the Drakanite and his baby mama's baby. The astrologian was gladdened to see them both, but seemed to immediately pick up on the importance of the moment. She was trying to impart something critical upon Keaka - this was a pivotal moment in his development. He held his arms out in front of himself as if to act as a cordon for the teenagers at his sides. They probably shouldn't approach while the ritual was being actively engaged.
  142.
  143. He nodded back in the ritual-guiding alchemist's direction, beaming a little smile at her as she plied her work. A bit of pride swelled in his heart; growing up was a gradual process that one could scarcely notice until time passed, but this was a tangible milestone.
  144. (Windsor)
  145. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  146.
  147. [18:57] If Keaka had to be honest the loss of blood had started to make him woozy. The cut was quickly patched up in an overly practiced fashion. He has done this many times but never has he spilt this much before.
  148. But for Ohtli's sake. For the sake of the ritual, he remained stalwart. As best as he could.
  149.
  150. A shaky hand reached for a small bottle of water he kept with him was sipped on while he watched the string of fire light up. It took every fiber of his being not to lean upon Ohtli.
  151.
  152. "Whenever you're ready."
  153. (Keaka Tezcacoatl)
  154. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  155.
  156. [19:08] Good. Nothing was going to interrupt this. She can surely trust the astrologist for that.
  157.
  158. Keaka provides the blood that closes off the circle from whatever uninvited spirits might pass in, yet there was still more to give. It's not something she could ever ask of her son or of anyone else.
  159.
  160. It was more than for the simple sake of her own mentor's unfinished business that she did this. She remembers with some fondness their long talks, how much he'd desired Gehenna's unity and restructuring into something stronger and greater.
  161.
  162. Who better was there to help act as a guide and protector for the young tribesmen? Ohtli braces, inhales, and speaks aloud so the winds themselves could carry her will. A breeze draws across the treetops all around.
  163.
  164. "There is a Spirit among you that lingers with unfinished business!" she speaks, the air amplifying her words rather than stifling them.
  165.
  166. "One of Gehenna's proud people, taken too soon by demons! I would not disgrace him or the spirits with undeath. Instead we beseech you and offer a price in blood:
  167.
  168. "In Quetzalcoatl's name, I call back Keaka Kamauoha, Warchief of the Ezmara, to walk among his people once more!"
  169.
  170. A price in blood is no understatement. She gives freely of it for all of her offerings, but this is different. Those pale in comparison to what she needs to draw and bind another's essence into the mortal world. Ohtli, Priestess of the Serpent, lifts her dagger high and jams it down into a long, gouging stripe along her arm. A grisly sight that flays open skin and muscle alike.
  171.
  172. Not even she can stifle a snarl as pain blooms from the knife wound. She still has the presence of mind to draw all of that sweet, precious blood over the glowing egg in the center of the circle.
  173.
  174. The Drakan prays, fervently, that such a heavy offering isn't for naught.
  175. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  176. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  177.
  178. [19:13] Akane whispers something.
  179. [19:13] Akane whispers something.
  180. [19:14] Slayder would put his equipment on, readying himself as he managed to hear a noise. Sheathing his gigantic blade to his back, he walked outside as he took a look at the pond near his house. He noticed Ohtli, a guide of Cruxati of sorts cutting into her arm. For now, he sat by his allies and would watch closely, obviously not ready to interrupt anything that was taking place. Still though, he noticed the dialogue, hearing her say she was attempting to bring back a spirit. Thinking to himself for a moment, he looked a bit bewildered. Wasn't bringing the dead back to life against their ways? Now watching even more carefully, he would await to see what happened.
  181. (Slayder)
  182. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  183.
  184. [19:18] {NARRATION} In a flash of light, the translucent spirit of Keaka shimmers into view, floating above.
  185.
  186. (Contract formed. Duration of five years.)
  187. [19:19] There was a part of him that wishes he was able to deliver a more potent blood offering in lieu of Ohtli's. Though he wasn't able to do so, he was allowed to pray. To ward the unwanted spirits from interrupting their calling - as per his job. Keaka clutched the hilt of the dagger with both hands in prayer-like fashion bowed his head low.
  188.
  189. He could feel the watching eyes of the audience, almost distracting if it wasn't for the elder drakan's strenuous prayer. And with their efforts combined, the fruits of their labor was to be reaped.
  190. (Keaka Tezcacoatl)
  191. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  192.
  193. [19:25] Darkness. That was what he remembered upon his death, a deep maw overlapping him before his senses fell to black... And then a flash.
  194.
  195. The Chieftain descends into the small outcropping of a swamp, those embered hues now looking about to those gathered. One face was familiar - The others? New.
  196.
  197. Weak, probably, but Gehennan in nature. Keaka would open his mouth for but a moment, as if looking for words to grace the small audience. The questions only piled on as questions upon questions rose to mind. Where were the chieftains? Ovan, Sibri, Pasis? The vampires, Ixcuiname?
  198.
  199. All to be answered, he assumed. He gives a quiet nod to those gathered before turning his attention to Ohtli alone. His voice is gravely, crackly even - Perhaps the influence of his God, Xiuhtec. Yet his face, or what is visible, remains stoic in nature. This new, ethereal form felt weak, thus it was best to keep it short.
  200.
  201. "... It's been some time, hasn't it?"
  202. (Keaka Kamauoha)
  203. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  204.
  205. [19:30] She was pretty sure it was going to work. It had to, didn't it? Ohtli had prayed, listened to the winds, done all the right research. But there was still the chance his spirit might not hear, or her call might not reach far enough. Too many unknowns.
  206.
  207. Though faint, there he was. Of course he hadn't changed at all- he'd been dead. The warchief was just as she'd remembered him.
  208.
  209. The strain of bringing a spirit back into the living world is far from non-existent, coupled with the offering of blood she's shed. The Drakan's first reply is to laugh half hysterically in reply to the specter's question.
  210.
  211. "Yes...yes, I suppose it has been," she replies as if she'd just woken up from a long nap.
  212. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  213. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  214.
  215. [19:32] Slayder looked at the spirit at is appeared, seeming all the more shocked. It seemed it wasn't brought back as a corpse, but as a spirit. Slayder had no idea that spirits of specific people could be contacted, although perhaps this was his chance. This was a spirit, so perhaps it knew a few things about the soul, more than he did for sure. He had been looking into the topic, so perhaps if the spirit was able to stick around, he would be able to approach it at a later point. It seemed that Ohtli had some business with it at this point, though.
  216. (Slayder)
  217. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  218.
  219. [19:36] Standing off towards the side, the young Vindict would reach up to scratch at the side of his head. Curious about just who this man was.
  220.
  221. Though, there's a certain look given to Ohtli. One of curiosity, really; thinking over the endless possibilities for something like this. Really, if it came down to it? And a war was to break out? They could bring back so many good people to aid them..
  222. (Mital Vindict)
  223. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  224.
  225. [19:37] Kuhn chomps at the air to show his confusion at the spirit that had just arrived.
  226.
  227. He knew just enough about Vindicia to know that many powerful warriors had come from it. He knew enough about the spirits to know that they would return and help Gehenna if they needed them, too. But... naturally, he had never actually seen it happens.
  228.
  229. The Shark stands off to one side of it all, marveling at what some might call a miracle.
  230. (Kuhn)
  231. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  232.
  233. [19:37] "Well, I'll be..." The booming call of Ohtli's voice resounded clear through Windsor's mind. This was an incantation, a culmination of every little skill the alchemist was cultivating. All the same, however, the astrologian was floored by the heavy gouge of the knife in her arm. He wanted so badly to interfere even there and then, but any disruption was surely going to muddle the ritual.
  234.
  235. Still, seeing as the 'meat' of the matter was squared away, the man figured it a bit safer to approach. "...You don't look any different," he spoke with bated breath. That much was an obvious observation, besides the fact that the big Keaka was not only dead, but also translucent. People could probably catch his meaning, anyway.
  236.
  237. Still wrapped up in some mild disbelief, he looked over to the winged woman, smiling meekly. "Uh. Mister... Keaka." His voice filled out with that same awkward lack of temerity he had with speakingto the old Keaka for the first time. Like he hadn't at all changed from that awkward teenager who met a significantly fatherly figure in her life.
  238.
  239. "It has been a while." He looked to Ohtli's arm gouge with more than a degree of consternation, but placed a hand on the little Keaka's shoulder. "I'd like to introduce you to our son. Also named Keaka. After you, uh, obviously."
  240. (Windsor)
  241. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  242.
  243. [19:37] What incredulity that showed itself on Keaka and there was no effort to cover up that shocked, slack-jawed stare at a successful spirit recalling. The big, big boss himself and the progenitor of his namesake - the Kamauoha.
  244.
  245. Words remained lodged in his throat but that could've been the fatigue. Much of his blood was spilt and as a result his eyesight was not to be trusted. Though however many times he rubbed his eyes, the spirit remained before him.
  246.
  247. "-Yea," he choked out. "I'm. Keaka." Windsor's touch startled him. It took him a while to find the right words to spit out. "It's nice to meet you."
  248. (Keaka Tezcacoatl)
  249. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  250.
  251. [19:50] A wide, prideful grin seems to sprout across his lips as he looks at the two - Though this soon fades as he hears the child's name. It felt... Good, per se, but it was strange to hear it upon someone unproven yet. Well, unproven to him at least.
  252.
  253. Yet, he pulls himself away from such a thought, after all it was an honor to have his name still living! Keaka's gaze turns towards those among the side line, giving a silent nod before stepping forth to the family. Up close, his ethereal form was more than noticeable - It was as if those were looking through foggy glass when they gazed upon his form.
  254.
  255. Keaka reaches out, as if to touch Ohtli's shoulder, before realizing the futility in such an action.
  256.
  257. "Rise then, Ohtli. You've done your work and then some for the tribes - Thank you, all three of you. I want to talk to... Keaka. More, later." Those emebered eyes shift to each of the family before pulling towards those among the sidelines.
  258.
  259. "What has passed since I... Fell." Solemn, pained. Speaking of his own fall, one of Gehenna's finest from what he believed, was beyond excrutiating for his ego. A twinge upon his brow brings him back to Ohtli. "What of Ixcuiname?"
  260. (Keaka Kamauoha)
  261. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  262.
  263. [19:55] Ohtli, against all odds, remains on her feet. Though that may soon be a thing of the past as she lightly, woozily sways. In the long-term the arm will heal. In the short term she wraps the bloodied limb in her poncho.
  264.
  265. There. Much better. She's not injured if people can't actually -see- it. Totally.
  266.
  267. "...You've missed a lot. You've been gone for two decades. We should talk somewhere better than here. And...and I'd like to sit down."
  268.
  269. The Drakan peers blearily first at her son, to Windsor, then to the gathered tribesmen nearby.
  270.
  271. "It wouldn't hurt for you to get acquainted with the latest generation either. I'd like for you to help them above all. I brought you back for many reasons, but that's a big one."
  272. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  273. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  274.
  275. [19:55] Slayder whispers something.
  276. [19:56] Slayder whispers something.
  277. [19:56] Keaka Kamauoha whispers something.
  278. [20:01] Keaka eyes the mutilated limb for a moment, blinking slowly. That's the price for bringing him here? Blood, beyond what he's probably spilt? The spirit nods in turn, a low huff passing through his lips.
  279.
  280. "Yes- Given the... Location, I assume Cruxati is nearby? Sibri won't mind us discussing in the tavern or... Possibly even the damned temple-"
  281.
  282. His rambling is cut short, a meaty corporeal digit flicking to the two men near Ohtli. Were they not going to help the poor woman? The embers flick once more towards the apparent latest generation of Gehennans.
  283.
  284. "Right... Your names, all of you." It was spoken more as a command than a request, the fallen warchief's voice grating to those gathered.
  285. (Keaka Kamauoha)
  286. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  287.
  288. [20:01] Ohtli Tezcacoatl says, "Ha...Haha."
  289. [20:01] Ohtli Tezcacoatl says, "That's...that's funny you mention that."
  290. [20:01] Keaka Kamauoha says, "... This is going to be a long discussion I see."
  291. [20:01] Ohtli Tezcacoatl asks, "Ha...Ah...well. Do you remember how I had an immense dislike of Sibri...Don't you?"
  292. [20:01] Keaka Kamauoha says, "Yes. I still don't see... The reason for such."
  293. [20:01] Slayder would immediately step forward, paying homage to the spirit with a kneel. "I am Slayder, aspiring to be a great warrior of Gehenna." He briefly bows his head and stands again as he looked toward Keaka.
  294. (Slayder)
  295. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  296.
  297. [20:02] Ohtli Tezcacoatl says, "Well. Unrelated. We'll...explain."
  298. [20:02] Keaka gives a slow nod to the warrior, his lips pursed.
  299. (Keaka Kamauoha)
  300. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  301.
  302. [20:02] Keaka Kamauoha says, "You've got boots to fill."
  303. [20:02] Slayder says, "Indeed."
  304. [20:03] Windsor finally moves on over to Ohtli's side, less than subtly trying to tend to her wounded arm.
  305. (Windsor)
  306. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  307.
  308. [20:03] Windsor whispers: The sacrifice has to match the conjuration, but goodness, Caretaker...
  309. [20:04] Mital steps forward, a hand reaching up to rub some of the sleep from his eye.
  310.
  311. "Mital Vindict. Soon to be Chieftain of Ezmara."
  312. (Mital Vindict)
  313. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  314.
  315. [20:04] Ohtli Tezcacoatl whispers: It does. You and I both know that. I'll be fine...once I sit.
  316. [20:05] Windsor whispers: Then let's find a place to sit and talk posthaste. I'm going to help patch you up.
  317. [20:06] The head of the fallen warchief tilts, a low chuckle escaping him. Amused, perhaps, but... Possibly even confused.
  318.
  319. "Ovan's been busy I suppose... You've got your damned work ahead of you. We'll talk in the time to come-"
  320.
  321. Keaka turns back to Ohtli and her family, a meaty corporeal hand gesturing them forward. "I am ready when you three are. If I'm to help guide the young ones, I need to know what's passed in the..."
  322.
  323. He pauses, yet again lost in his thought. How long had it been?
  324. (Keaka Kamauoha)
  325. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  326.
  327. [20:09] The Drakan is dreadfully stubborn, but even she knows better than to push off the ministrations of the astrologist.
  328.
  329. "Right. The square. It is still standing. We have twenty or so years to catch you up on. It's...going to be a bit of a shock, no doubt."
  330.
  331. While she might know these names, they were the names of ghosts and history to others. Spirits, it makes her feel so old. Old -and- dizzy.
  332.
  333. "Let's head that way. Starseeker?"
  334.
  335. It couldn't hurt to have Windsor there just in case she took a nasty topple.
  336. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  337. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  338.
  339. [20:12] Mital scrunches up his face, slowly nodding.
  340.
  341. "Right.."
  342.
  343. Still, most of these names weren't really known to him. He had heard of Ovan before, never really met the guy other than in passing. Strange.
  344. (Mital Vindict)
  345. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  346.
  347. [20:12] The astrologian continues to offer his aid to the woman's arm, reaching into his pockets for a canteen. A liberal offering of water is set to wash out the cut, with a tacit understanding she has enough wherewithal to endure the resultant sting. Unfortunately, he had no surgical gloves with which to work. Like a damnable savage.
  348.
  349. Trying to apply stitching, however, could wait for when they weren't standing, and for when she wasn't struggling to stay standing. Instead, he bound up the wound once more using a kerchief from his pocket, and -- whether she liked it or not -- used himself as a support to keep her propped up.
  350.
  351. It was, all together, a familiar sensation. A nostalgic one, even. Hm.
  352. (Windsor)
  353. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  354.
  355. [20:14] Compared to Ohtli's hurts, the young Keaka's was trifling. Even still, both of them had spilt much blood and it didn't help that they still needed proper tending to. The rudimentary cloth around his arm proved to be just that - a quick and easy fix.
  356.
  357. The drakan eyed the elder Keaka with much admiration. Or, confusion. He wasn't sure how to think of him. Whether it was with great formality or if he should be himself.
  358. But he'd have to choose in time.
  359.
  360. And then there was the matter of wanting to show off a little. Which, Key believed was a non-issue. He stood tall keeping his arms to his side and adjusted his glasses.
  361.
  362. He said nothing while following his family back to the city.
  363. (Keaka Tezcacoatl)
  364. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  365.
  366. [20:18] It wasn't too far, but more of a hike than Ohtli would've liked back into the Cruxati city square. She manages to not collapse onto the bench, instead seating herself with a little more dignity.
  367.
  368. Good thing too. She's starting to get wobbly, her complexion notwithstanding. Still, the astrologist did more than well enough for the short trip. Already she offers him her arm again with minimal fussing- though there is still -some- fussing.
  369.
  370. "And here is Cruxati. Which I'm sure you remember...albeit missing some things."
  371.
  372. You know. Like the giant stone wraith that guarded the square.
  373. (Ohtli Tezcacoatl)
  374. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  375.
  376. [20:23] They leave the swamps, cross a familiar bridge, which forces Keaka to do a double take as they continue forth. The Atl. Where was the Atl's temple, their arena? Keaka's stomach twists, corporeal teeth gritting.
  377.
  378. Upon the entry of Cruxati's square, the embered hues slowly observe his surroundings. This was a new place, it simply had to be. Sibri wasn't lazing about the steps of the temple anymore, Pasis gone from his perch. The most shocking of all, however, was the absence of the wraith.
  379.
  380. The questions only continued to pile up. A silent moment is had before he speaks up, "The Chieftains. Then... The tribes, Ohtli."
  381.
  382. The fallen warchief continues to look about in disbelief, as if searching for the stone beast or the darkness of Pasis during his hunts.
  383. (Keaka Kamauoha)
  384. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  385.
  386. [20:24] The man was anxious to act on his intent to get the alchemist all fixed up. So wrapped up in healing the woman that he was willing to expend some Lax Essence just for the purposes of healing a relatively innocuous wound. The salve is liberally applied onto the gouge, before a needle and thread is at last proferred.
  387.
  388. With careful precision that suggested he'd done just this sort of thing before, he began a clean suture on her arm. It was in open air, he wasn't wearing protective hand coverings, and though the needle and thread were both clean, well...
  389.
  390. It was a good thing the Essence was packed along, else there'd probably be a higher risk of infection. Frankly, it probably wasn't even a concern for her. While Keaka suffered from his crisis of trying to reconcile a new, changed Gehenna, Windsor was dealing with a crisis of a relatively minor cut.
  391.
  392. Relatively, considering her other arm was replaced outright.
  393. (Windsor)
  394. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  395.
  396. [20:29] Unlike the rest of the family, the young Keaka sat himself on the edge of the fountain, across from the elder chieftain. There was much deliberation prior to his arrival about what to say or how to hold himself. And. Where to sit without being disrespectful or too familiar.
  397.
  398. He spoke first. "There was a large-scale raid in the city. Many died and. The wraith that sat here was reanimated and slaughtered many more." Key spoke as a matter-of-factly. "That's really the short of it. I-"
  399.
  400. The drakan paused. He was getting impatient. The way he wanted to command the conversation and steered it towards him - what exactly did the elder Keaka want to talk about?
  401.
  402. "I think I'll let my parents explain in further detail."
  403. (Keaka Tezcacoatl)
