- Proposed outline for forrest document:
- SUMMER THRILLER BLOCKBUSTER
- Setting: it’s not a teen party, not like what robin’s hosting. It’s probably just some generic house, or a friend of a friend’s house, a small affair that’s most likely set during halloween night but doesn’t have to be. At night, probably with a bit of booze and whatever else it is kids get up to in the 70s/80s. Think generic spooky. forrest's summer after senior year. The Night. The love letter to teen horror movies, the classics.
- Characters: forrest, his buddies that he’s fairly close with but he still feels distanced from because he’s unsure of himself, the police, the demon, the demon (? Truth: horroterror)
- The gist: A fractured narration as Forrest tries to explain what happened to the police. This way we don’t have to write the entire murderfest while still actually touching on it beyond what forrest says explicitly to the police. Think Persona 5?
- The synopsis: idiot teens jokingly try to summon the devil to shoot the shit. It works. It goes about as well as you can expect, with almost everyone dying besides the last girl (Forrest.)
- More in-depth:
- - The reason it worked was because Forrest was the one who got elbowed into doing the dumb summoning thing. He didn’t really want to do it and kinda wished they just stuck to drinking beer and talking mad shit. It worked because Forrest implicitly has that magical aptitude that made demons go “hm yeah let’s make him a vampire” in the first place.
- -But since it’s Forrest, he doesn’t know that it was actually gonna work. He was unwitting, and he’s young, and he’s human. It isn’t just because he’s human, no, because otherwise every time some eventual-vampire summons a demon they have to deal with a baby horrorterror too. No, it was just an unwitting and sloppy job, and he had a weird streak of luck that while he ended up causing a literal horrorterror to show up (even if a small one) he at least managed to nab a demon too so the entire place wasn’t outright a lost cause.
- - so everyone’s dying, right? And the demon probably has it under control, but he sees the Opportunity. He’s a good man, a fair man, but he’s still an opportunist and gives forrest a chance. He could die, sure, but he could also live. Maybe he could even save a friend. Just sign on the dotted line. (or go even harder, tempt him, tell him he can go even harder. Give nuance to the deal, this sacrifice, he who becomes monsters etc.) Basically he's taking credit for stuff that isn't exactly in his power but it's not like stupid mortals would know the difference of his damage vs some Lovecraft shit.
- -bonus: slip the doctor in some way. Probably at the end of the “real time” segment after the cops give him a second. Yvonne is there too, of course (”and he knows it’s fucking over.”)
- LORE to know:
- - because things are Imperfect in the world, and there’s no perfect balance, and irregularities (such as humans tapping into their innate power in such an unfitting vessel) happen, there are cracks in the fabric of reality. They’re easily patched up enough if the afterlife/demons/angels are diligent enough. Think about it like how the earth’s tectonic plates move, except instead of earthquakes you get incomprehensible creatures, an abstract trying to fit itself into a world bound by reality in most circumstances.
- meta wise:
- - we get to see Actual Demons do Demony Things aka make a contract, or at least show up with the implication that "oh." We don't really touch base on this a lot in the main story or in the other bonuses so i think it'd be great foreshadowing!
- - we also get to see some very subtle foreshadowing featuring some stuff that will eventually be obvious that "oh, shit, the demon wasn't the one killing everyone" if we go that route. it's mostly a bonus for ev route stuff.

- it's a bit hazy
- I understand the basics at play
- Halloween satan drunkdial and the dude picks up
- which somehow causes/leads to a "horrorterror" to raze his friends, I think?
- olivinearcToday at 1:52 AM
- like
- imagine a half botched summon
- you try to summon the devil but ur only doing half the steps right and it still works
- PeeetchToday at 1:52 AM
- and then Satan/devil is like "dude damn, you better accept the terms and conditions now"
- I assume so that he as a vamp may beat the horrorterror?
- olivinearcToday at 1:53 AM
- nah
- more yanking his chain
