  1. '''Common Room'''
  2.
  3. The Hero looked down at the short, thinnish man with the black moustache, before smiling politely. "Thank you," he said gratefully. "It isn't actually ''my'' style, though. You could call them hand-me-downs..."
  4.
  5. Meanwhile, Yee faced the Samurai and tapped his fingers on his cane. ''"This Tesseract is another world, Ranmaru,"'' he said. The fact that he had mentioned his name seemed natural - almost as if he had known it for a long while.
  6.
  7. ''"An infinite space pressed into a fragile shell. I have used the ancient craft of my race in order to shape it thus. Consider it your fortress, your base of operations. As for its physical form, it lies on an infinite meadow -"''
  8.
  9. A crunch. "Basically," Kyoko mumbled, mouth full of potato chips, "it lets you make things. Like food. And a room or something. With your mind, or some spiritual crap like that. There. That made more sense, right, geezer?"
  10.
  11. She grinned. Yee was about to shake his head when the room exploded. A gaping hole tore itself in the middle of the room with a roar of wind, sending coffee and notepads flying everywhere and nearly tearing the wallpaper off the very lush walls.
  12.
  13. Kyoko nearly choked. "What the f**k?" More irritated than surprised, she attempted to fight against the inexorable pull, only to lose more ground with every step. Link, more experienced, simply let himself fall forwards and prepared for a rough landing.
  14.
  15. Yee looked around at the scene of carnage. He alone seemed unaffected by the pull, though he had to raise a hand to deflect a spinning cushion every now and then. It was almost as if the portal didn't want him.
  16.
  17. ''"Do not be alarmed!"'' he managed to get out, strained voice slipping through the din to everyone's ears. ''"This is but another of Omega's trials!"''
  18.
  19. ''"I leave it in your hands!"''
  20.
  21. Cursing, Kyoko pulled a box of almond-coated Pockies out of the air and held onto it as tight as possible. Then the light swallowed her.
  22.

  24.
  25. '''Link, Mysterious Knoll'''
  26.
  27. Grass. The fresh smell of grass.
  28.
  29. Link got to his feet, wincing as he brushed off the crushed blades still clinging to his tunic. The dark-skinned man was right. It was grass. Just like Hyrule Field. More importantly...
  30.
  31. He glanced at Sazh's new outfit, then down at his own tunic. No difference at all. The Hero's Clothes were as green as ever -
  32.
  33. The awed whistle caught his attention, and he saw the City before them. His eyes widened in wonder.
  34.
  35. The hills were like Hyrule Field. Like the infinite Meadow he had left for Toontown before its changing, even. But the city in front of them was far more magnificent than even Hyrule Castle Town, and it had none of the alienness of the crystal spires to impede its grandeur. It was magnificent. The towers, the river, the circle and its spokes, each with more buildings than he could count...
  36.
  37. Link looked up at the great moon hanging above the city, wondering at the strange, glowing lines all across it and its purpose. It was daytime. Why was there a moon there?
  38.
  39. A far cry from Ordon Village. He guessed he was still a country boy at heart.
  40.
  41. Smiling at the thought, he turned to look at the caravan in the distance, where Fluttershy had flown off to. The man was right. Perhaps he might be able to ask them a few questions.
  42.
  43. "I'm going over," he decided. "Does anyone want to come along?"
  44.
  45. With that, he broke off into a jog towards the plodding lizard-creature.
  46.
  47. "Excuse me," he called as soon as he got into earshot, raising a leather-gauntleted hand to alert the driver as he came to a halt beside the caravan. "Can you tell me where we are?" He tried to keep as courteous as possible.
  48.
  49. ----
  50.
  51. '''Kyoko, Mysterious Knoll'''
  52.
  53. Well, her Pockies were fine. The clothes were less fine, though.
  54.
  55. Kyoko had found herself in an odd combination. There being nothing even remotely resembling a green jacket and cut-off jeans in a medieval fantasy world, she had gotten the closest equivalent - a forest-green, ruffled shirt under a laced leather bodice, with cut-off beige pants made with a rugged-looking material and a belt around her waist. Boots, too. It seemed a very tomboyish combination.
  56.
  57. Hooked at various places around her belt were beige pouches. She had stashed her precious snacks away in them to the best of her ability, though half of the box still stuck out over her waistline.
  58.
  59. "Well, this isn't so bad," she admitted. "Feels pretty damn neat, actually." She looked around. Seemed like some nerd's fantasy, or something out of a video game. She'd seen weirder. And you're pretty good at giving orders, aren't you? You know, even though you don't know where we are."
