  1. This SGDQ was by far my favorite. Every GDQ is better than the last for me, but this one was a massive step up. Not to say the other events were bad, but this one was the most fulfilling.
  2.
  3. The venue was great this year. Great hotel with an easy layout, and there were many great food locations within easy reach. The rooms were spacious with good beds and bathrooms. There was an issue with them serving gluten food as non-gluten, and they did charge me $8 for a Snickers, but besides that they did a great job.
  4.
  5. I met many new people, and got to see old friends. I can't possibly list everyone, but if we spoke at all during the event I thought you were cool. Everyone at these events is always welcoming and is the key reason as to why GDQs are worthwhile for me.
  6.
  7. My first time volunteering at a GDQ was a great one. I did two stream tech shifts, which consisted of me making sure the captures were properly set up and transitioning between scenes. It's a simple job, but I learned a lot from it and enjoyed working with the crew. Hope GDQ gives me the opportunity to volunteer again next time, and I think it's something everyone should try.

  9. The Initial D tournament did not go as planned, but it ended up working out just fine in the end. For AGDQ 2019, Lordmau5 and Stendec will be attending, which will be a big step up from having me do everything. Outside of the tournament, I didn't play very much. I did get my S15 tuned to EX Spec, which was a goal of mine for SGDQ. Tokyo Attack went above and beyond for this, and I am thankful for them supporting the tournament as much as they do. Fiz and Anthony are the best. Huge shoutouts to 360Chrism and PMG for allowing me to borrow their capture cards.
  10.
  11. I couched for four runs. A Hat in Time, Yo! Noid 2, Pet the Pup at the Party, and FreezeME. The A Hat in Time race was a blast to commentate for, and I am so thankful to Flarebear and ConnorAce for letting me join the couch. It has been amazing to watch this game grow so much since 2014. FreezeME is another game I've been rooting for, and I am glad to have been useful as a commentator for it. Yo! Noid 2 was hilariously fun, and it really deserves the GDQ spotlight. Shoutouts to Bullets for letting me crash on the couch at the very last second. All of these runners did an incredible job.
  12.
  13. My favorite runs, other than the ones I was involved in, were Hob, TWWHD, TPS, Wave Race, and SMW. I need to catch the archives, since I didn't watch many runs besides those. This GDQ has the strongest game selection out of the five I've attended.
  14.
  15. Some of my favorite memories of this GDQ were playing Pringles: The Video Game with the pop squad. I am so glad Sina told me about this masterpiece, and I am excited to play it once I am home. The meme race was frustratingly fun, and I quit about two hours into my playthrough. Spider-Man is a game I personally do not enjoy.
  16.
  17. Walking Mall of America, and all the food runs with various groups were so great. I did not get sick this year, which I am thankful for.
  18.
  19. My run went so much better than I expected. I was worried it would be a trainwreck headed straight towards the cringe compilation, but everything about it was perfect. No deaths, massive crowd engagement, and that miraculous save in Super Escorrega helped make that run so great. Big thanks to Skelekat, Chair, and Forgiven for having my back and providing excellent commentary. I am fully satisfied and have no regrets. It is a privilege to be involved in these events and I am glad to have such a supportive community.
  20.
  21. So, what's lies in the future? I want to continue running Hat, and I also want to pick up a new side game. I want to run another racing game, but I cannot decide between Battle Gear 2, TrackMania United Forever, and Absolute Drift. Once I am home I will mess around with those and see what sticks.
  22.
  23. AGDQ 2019 is a goal. As long as I can afford it and ensure that it won't collide with my class schedule, I will be there. GDQX will be considered if I get a run in, but I would frankly rather just save up for the bigger AGDQ.
  24.
  25. I am so happy and proud of myself.
