  1. >Preparation
  2. In the new thread I plan on announcing that the santas from the last 2 years email me asap. I have the email addresses they used previous years saved. I want to see if they have a blacklist of confirmed grinches. I know the past two santas said they would make a record of them. I know it's more likely they won't see this thread and won't respond but I'm going to make an effort regardless.
  3.
  4. >Sign up
  5. It's going to be a traditional /ss/. However, instead of sending the information via email, we are going to use a google form similar to Gunpla's /ss/. It's far more organized and easier to fill out. It has always worked out very well for them year after year. You won't be able to send a form that isn't complete which is helpful for the more scattered brained anons.
  6. The form will include the following:
  7.
  8. >your email address
  9. >full name you will use on your package (it doesn't have to be your real name)
  10. >full address (PO Boxes will NOT be accepted)
  11. >proof of address in the form of an image uploaded to the form (I'll explain how this works below)
  12. >are you from the US or international?
  13. >would you like to ship within your country? yes or no? (please note, if there is no one to pair you up with from your country and you selected this option you will be notified before assignments go out)
  14. >Your wish list
  15. >other notes (use this section for anything you'd want to ask your assignment, your santa, or anything you want me to be aware of along with your information)
  16. >would you consider signing up as a replacement santa in case someone gets grinched? yes or no?
  17.
  18.
  19. >proof of address
  20. Not asking for ID or anything complicated. It can be a photo of your mailbox (with your address on it) or a piece of mail with sensitive information blurred out. Take a picture of the envelope your insurance bill came in. Take a picture of your address on the letter. PLEASE MAKE SURE SENSITIVE INFORMATION IS BLOCKED OUT. I need proof of address, nothing else. This image will be uploaded to a private google drive only I can see. I'll go through all the images and make sure everything is ok. Once /ss/ is over, I'm deleting the drive. So no images will be saved come mid January.

  22. >the wish list
  23. I know some people wanted brackets but here is the thing. Not many people enter /ss/. At most, it's 50, usually much less. The poll had about 75 voters in it and I expect there to be much less participation than that. Then you have to consider how people get matched up according to their region. Imo, shipping preference is much more important than categorized budget brackets.
  24.
  25. My proposed budget is 25-35 bucks for the toy itself. You can list 5 different toys in this price range.
  26.
  27. It's more than fine to pick out one item and send it and I encourage everyone to do so. The point isn't to break the bank here folks. Add extras. Include a card and make it personal. That's what it's all about.
  28. Yes, you can be more vague if you want to and list preferences instead of the toy itself if you want to be surprised. But make sure there are toys within your preference that fall into this price range. I will do a quick amazon search to check myself and if it looks too pricey I will be contacting you to revise your list. Don't be a dick.
  29. Also if you do it this way be detailed enough that someone who isn't as savvy in your interest can find a toy you want without feeling uncomfortable. If someone emails me and saying "I don't understand what this anon wants" I will be contacting you for clarification.
  30.
  31. >grinches
  32. The hot button issue. This is the best I can do to combat /toy/'s biggest fear:
  33.
  34. >get the previous blacklist addresses (if I can)
  35. >check for proof of address
  36. >ensure people are staying in contact with each other
  37. >if you feel your assignment is ignoring you or hasn't updated in a reasonable amount of time, feel free to email me and I'll look into it
  38. >I will be posting updates on the status of /ss/ regularly so if anyone plans on fear mongering I suggest against it
  39. >no email is a bad email, if you have any concern email me asap
  40.
  41. >in the event that a real grinch manages to get through:
  42.
  43. I will be contacting anyone who signed up to be a back up santa on the form. If you plan on being overly generous I suggest signing up as a back up instead.
  44. How to apply if you think you've been grinched:
  45.
  46. Essentially, I have to be the final say whether or not I feel someone has truly been grinched. The following has to be met:
  47.
  48. >absolutely no contact from the Santee after multiple attempts
  49. >no shipping number ever sent
  50. >Christmas has passed and no gift was received
  51. >no sign of the anon in question posting in the thread as far as I can tell
  52.
  53. If that happens, that anon will be added to my own blacklist that I will send, no matter what, to next year's Santa. IT WILL NOT BE PUBLIC. 4CHAN IS NOT YOUR PERSONAL ARMY. I will contact the new Santa myself, privately via email, send the list of grinches from the previous year and if that Santa acts like a retard and posts the addresses on 4chan I'll report it and a mod will ban him. That's how it goes anywhere else on this website.
  54.
  55. I know that plenty of people will not sign up as a back up. I do know the threat of grinches is real. I do know that no matter what I do it's possible a grinch will sneak through. You need to be aware of this before signing up. You also need to be aware that if you feel for any reason you'll have financial issues in the coming months not to sign up. Don't be that shit head that says in the middle of December that you suddenly have no money and can't send a gift. If you feel this could be you, don't sign up. If you do this, you will go on the blacklist. This is your warning.
  56.
  57. Once assignments go out I'll post a deadline on when to send me an update on your package, including shipping number. If you package is coming late, you have to tell me. If you're ordering from Japan and it's coming late, you have to tell me. I encourage updates. Don't be afraid to email me.
