Donnie's Parents Part 1

<JohnQuint>: The clock has just struck 11 in the household of Mirela Crespelle, and her little shadowy shortie, Donnie. Donnie is asleep in his bed, until the raging storm outside wakes the youngin.


Donnie rubs his eyes and groans himself awake. He's usually a pretty light sleeper, this sort of thing isn't an especially rare occurrence

Flipside sits in the kitchen, drinking a mug of tea. Another storm, they're pretty common every once in a while.

Donnie goes over to the window to observe the storm at hand
<JohnQuint>: Far away, a lightning bolt strikes, illuminating the window Donnie is in front of

Donnie frowns, taking a blanket and heading into the kitchen for a snack

Flipside looks out of the window, taking another sip.
<Flipside>: "Can't sleep?" she asks, still looking out of the window.
<Donnie>: "I did, but then I woke up..."
<Flipside>: "S'alright Dibbles. Storm woke you up?"
<Donnie>: "Mmhmm."
<Flipside>: "Want a snack, or a drink?" she turns around, smiling at Donnie.
<Donnie>: "Mhmm."
<Flipside>: "Heh, alrighty then. Whatcha in the mood for?"

Donnie 's hmm's go from sad to happy at that notion

<Donnie>: "Can I haaaave... some juice?"
<Flipside>: "Sure thing. What kind?" she stands up, patting Donnie on his head.
<Donnie>: "Do we have any grape juice still?"
<Flipside>: "We should. Lemme check."

Donnie tightens his blanket around himself and plops down onto the couch

Flipside opens up the fridge, looking inside.

Flipside pulls out a carton, taking a glass with her as she sits next to Donnie.

Donnie sips his juice lethargically, still obviously tired from just waking up

<Donnie>: "Hey Mom?"
<Flipside>: "Hmm? What's up Dib?"
<Donnie>: "Do you know anything about my, uh... /biological/ parents?"
<Flipside>: "Umm, not really..."
<Donnie>: "...Do you think we could find out?"
<Flipside>: "I don't think it would be too hard to find out."
<Donnie>: "Really?"
<Flipside>: "Yeah, there are tons of places these days. We just need a good lead..."

Donnie tries to remember his tragic/awesome past as a child homeless
<Donnie>: "...What about that guy with the truck? From when you first found me?"
<Flipside>: "Hmm, that might be a good start. I wonder where he might be..."
<Donnie>: "Prison?"
<Flipside>: "...yeah, true. So, first thing in the morning?"
<Donnie>: "Mr Honda said I'm allowed to leave school to go searching for stuff like this, by the way."
<Donnie>: "He said I just needed a note."

<Flipside>: "Alrighty then. I'll call him, alright?"
<Donnie>: "Thanks, mom."

Donnie finishes his juice and wipes his mouth off on his arm
<Flipside>: "No trouble Donnie, I do what I can."

Donnie leans over to give Flipside a hug
<Donnie>: "I'm gonna go back to bed."

Flipside hugs Donnie back
<Flipside>: "Alrighty Donnie. Love ya kiddo, now get some rest."

Donnie nods and goes back to his room

Flipside walks over to the phone, dialling in Theo's number.

HabeusKaiju is asleep on the couch, when he is woken up by the phone

HabeusKaiju walks over and picks it up
<HabeusKaiju>: Hello?

HabeusKaiju says groggily. Seriously Flip, it's 11 pm, I wake up in 6 hours

<Flipside>: "Hey Theo, it's me, Mirela."
<HabeusKaiju>: Heeeeeeey, what's up? Is everything okay?
<Flipside>: "I just need your permission to let Donnie off of school tomorrow."
<HabeusKaiju>: Oh...You could have just called in the morning
<Flipside>: "I like to resolve matters quick as I can."
<HabeusKaiju>: Alright, alright, when I get there tomorrow, I'll sign him out, okay?

<HabeusKaiju>: Anything else ya need to ask?
<Flipside>: "I don't know yet. I'll call you when I find out more."
<HabeusKaiju>: Alright. Night then, Mir
HabeusKaiju hangs up the phone, and heads to make sure Clara is asleep. Who is he kidding, the girl can sleep through a rhino rampage

<Flipside>: She puts the phone down, and returns to her room.

<HabeusKaiju>: Donnie's alarm goes off to the tune of his favourite disney tv show, Suite life IN SPACE.

Donnie his his alarm off and stretches
<Flipside>: Mirela is already in the kitchen, biting into a piece of toast.

Donnie goes about his normal morning routine of showing, washing his hair, brushing his teeth, getting dressed, etc, before doing into the kitchen for breakfast

<Donnie>: "Did you call Mr Honda?"
<Flipside>: "Yup, when you went to bed."

<Donnie>: "What'd he say?"

<Flipside>: "He said sure, you're free."
<Donnie>: "Awesome! When can we start looking?"
<Flipside>: "Soon as we can, Donnie."
