- I'm not sure why I'm PM'ing you but here I am! Sorry for not crediting the artist, I wasn't thinking and I wasn't entirely sure who to credit.

- Hello, it’s actually because Ashley said you were blowing things out of proportion and were in fact, not accused of tracing.
- They said there was a funny and uncanny resemblance from your piece to the piece you showed, but never full on accused you of anything.
- You can now call each other and see information like Active Status and when you've read messages.

- When I'm asked to provide Proof of other drawings in the same pose and asked why i drew something the way I did, it's accusatory. I was required to provide Evidence that I didn't steal the idea.
- I apologize for my reaction. I still think it's offensive that I had spent a few days doing nothing but drawing and communicating, and then for my integrity as an Artist to be dragged into question like that.
- The situation was offensive and I reacted.
- (them)
- You should react by talking it through with them first before making a post on FB.
- We all mocked or dragged them, and people suggested you dropped the commissioner, when all they did was go “?? Because boy was this coinicidentally similar!”
- And they are, but it also is a generic post.
- I’ve talked with the owner of the art piece and she said overall they are chalking it up to coincidence
- So talk things through with them before basically dragging them through the mud while giving little context
- (me)
- I didn't encourage Mockery and I can't control how other people react. I asked for people to show examples of their Characters in a similar pose because I was passively being accused of stealing an idea on a Paid Commission, which as a Commission Artist is potentially a career-ending accusation.
- I did, actually, talk to them and told them that it was offensive and provided examples. The post was made as I was attempting to find examples, and after I'd spent a couple of days pulling long nights to get the Icons done.
- I apologize for my reaction but I did NOT encourage people to Mock them.
- (them)
- You didn’t discourage them, either. In fact you went along with my own mocking comment.
- No, you cannot control how others react
- But you could have worded and phrased things better to ensure others wouldn’t be so accusatory
- (me)
- And I apologize for that, but I can't take responsibility for how other people reacted. As you said, you made your own Mocking Comment at the situation, which was your own choice and not because I made you. I handled it poorly because I was being accused of Stealing an idea on a paid product. I was shocked, I was hurt, and I was attempting to find other Poses of the same nature.
- My intention with the post wasn't to 'Call anyone out' or to start drama, my intention with the post was to get Similar Images because I was being told to provide them on the implied ultimatum that if I DIDNT provide them, I was going to be held accountable for Tracing/Referencing/Stealing.
- (them)
- Hello I read through your conversation with them
- And you really jumped the gun to “that’s offensive” when you yourself went “THATS SO SIMILAR... OH DEAR”
- (me)
- The context of the conversation was that I was sending a screenshot to confirm that I was drawing the character correctly. I was then asked what my inspiration for the pose was, to which the Commissioner sent the screenshot of their friend's Icon and commented on how similar they were. Whle I agreed that they were similar, because they share the same Pop Cute pose, I was then asked to provide proof of other pictures of furries like that.
- (them)
- And you even offered to draw them different art
- I read the conversation as it was
- (me)
- Because they are! Because it's a common pose! I offered to draw them other art because I didn't want them being upset at it being such a similar pose to something else.
- (them)
- You decided that for yourself. And then they apologized twice for sounding like they were accusing you of something because their friend was like
- Hey that’s super goddamn similar can you show some other goods
- (me)
- I offered them, at no additional cost, a Different Pose because it was so similar to an existing drawing.
- (them)
- You did that without them asking
- That tells me you’re more than aware of how that could come off as scarily close to having been heavily referenced
- (me)
- It was an offer! It wasn't an accusation! It wasn't a fight! It was an 'This pose is similar to my friends' 'Oh, would you like something different then?'
- You're putting words in my mouth.
- (them)
- Apologies, let me backtrack
- That’s how it looks to them
- When you so readily offer before they actually complain
- It sounds like you’re trying to cover up for yourself
- (me)
- I don't want this to be a fight. I don't want to fight. I'm sitting here shaking.
- I'm autistic and I've never taken commissions through Lioden before.
- (them)
- It does sound extremely suspicious once you panic
- (me)
- I didn't want the Second Person Ever to commission me to be dissapointed.
- (them)
- This isn’t a fight
- I’m literally in a parking lot drinking a chocolate shake
- Let me explain okay? It’s all good
- The problem arose because you panicked and offered so quickly to change
- Normally people don’t do that
- It was a super nice and considerate offer, but it’s also an offer people usually make when they’re trying to cover up for themselves
- (me)
- When a Commissioner comes back to me with a gripe about the pose of a piece, I change it. I've been doing that for years. I've never been accused of Tracing before, so I just did what I always do: which is 'Oh, I can draw something different if you'd like/'
- (them)
- It wasn’t a gripe, is the thing. I went and read it, and all it is saying is that the pose is similar to her friends
- (me)
- I wasn't trying to cover anything up. I don't reference or steal because it's both Really Goddamn Rude and I've personally had my own pieces stolen and used for profit.
- (them)
- You misread it as a gripe and assumed they wanted it fixed
- However they were pointing out an actually funny coincidence, as they often have matching pieces so it worked out fine
- (me)
- Then I did that, and I'm sorry I read it like that. Tone isn't great for people with autism, especially over the internet, and I assumed that the comment of it being in a Similar Pose was meaning that they thought the piece was unoriginal. I didn't know they were implying I referenced it or stole it until I was aksed to provide evidence of other pieces in the same pose.
- (them)
- Yeah, no I understand how tone can be difficult to read
- (me)
- The flow of conversation threw me. I made that post when I was asked to provide evidence.
- I didn't make the post after I'd spoken to them.
- I made it to try and gather evidence because I was panicked, I was hurt, and I didn't know how to find it on my own.
- Yeah.
- (them)
- The thing is, Ashley said they weren’t even suspicious until you so quickly offered to fix it at the comment.
- To you, it was a complaint of pose
- (me)
- I can't control how other people react.
- (them)
- To them, it was just a side comment that wasn’t serious
- No, and I won’t hold them against you.
- I would ask, as an admin of Furry, to please b wary and even run it through an admin before posting those things so we can ensure all is well
- (me)
- This goes back to I can't control how other people react. I didn't intend to make them suspicious, I intended to fix something that, to ME, seemed to be an issue of pose/similarity. I didn't realize I was being accused of stealing when I offered to draw something different.
- (them)
- You weren’t being accused of stealing- at all really. As it goes back to them having apologized.
- And no, you can’t handle how others react
- But you can communicate your confusion better or even say “what exactly do you mean by that”
- (me)
- They apologized after I told them it was offensive and I provided evidence.
- I didn't realize that's where the conversation was headed.
- (them)
- If you know that you can read things wrong or have trouble with tone
- You should try to step back and talk to them about the beginning of the problem to fully grasp it
- It’s how I handle things as I also have serious problems with tones and understanding folks
- (me)
- I was answering a question, which was 'What inspired me to do that pose?'
- Then I was provided with a drawing in a similar pose, so I commented 'Oh wow! yes! that is a similar pose!'
- And then I offered to change it because, to me, at that time, I had assumed the problem was that they wanted something more original because I knew I was drawing a very common pop cute pose.
- I do try to watch my tone. I've been trying, it's hard to be in a position where I owe someone something because they've paid me and I need to use a customer service voice and try to keep things Courteous and Impersonal.
- I was doing what any other artist who has an issue did. I offered to fix what I percieved was the problem, as they'd asked for similar fixes on other Icons I'd already drawn for them.
- (them)
- If you think there is a problem
- With the way we'd been conversing before this, and the way they'd asked for fixes on previous Icons, I assumed and that was where I went wrong.
- Don’t assume to know what it is
- Just ask them if there is a problem or what the problem is
- You assumed there was a problem and had a solution on hand
- But that just made everything worse
- (me)
- That is my fault. I was using a pattern of the conversations we'd already been having as a basis to guess what the current problem was and offered solutions to something I thought was wrong.
- (them)
- Well actually you can do as you please and communicate as you’d like
- I’ve gotten what I need from this conversation
- If you have problems with people, in Furry or outside, I’m always open if you need an ear
- But rn I’m driving home and going to sleep lol
