  1. I hadn't considered the idea of Dany and Jon being opponents at first and eventually coming around to a team up. That could be how things go in the book - they certainly seem to be being set up in some sort of opposition, if not mirror images. But I think you're right about the show - there's just not enough time left to have them fight and then join. Plus even if R+L=J is true, I can't see Jon wanting the throne. (Of course, I don't expect there to even BE an iron throne when it's all said and done).

  3. And I think that's what I meant with the Kingsmoot was a bit awkward in the show - the books was packed with so much more energy. Euron just dumping treasure and what not. The thing I most didn't like was his "baptism." No way book Euron goes through with that - and book damphair absolutely HATES his brother, because he's not a godly man. I'm more confused as to what Theon and Yara/Asha are up to. Are they going to try to get Dany first? Seems like they merged them to create Victarion.

  5. In the trailer there's a black rider on a horse chasing down a wight. I wonder if that's going to be the show's version of Coldhands - perhaps even the return of Benjen?

  7. That double stomach punch of Summer/Hodor though. :( Saw a great interview where Bran's actor pointed out that Hodor is one of the few truly "good" characters in the show. He is one of the only ones that truly doesn't have an agenda or ulterior motive, so that makes it double sad. Rest well, gentle giant....

  9. Up til now only really Episode 2 moved the plot forward - everything else was just setup. But boy is that setup paying off. I feel like it's only going to keep getting insane from here...
