- A run-on sentence is a sentence that is too long. It should be at least two different sentences.
- My father is 45 years old he is a businessman and my mother is 42 years old and she is a teacher. (run-on sentence)
- One Solution - make 4 separate sentences: My father is 45 years old. He is a businessman. My mother is 42 years old. She is a teacher. (too disconnected)
- Better solution - make 2 sentences:
- My father is a businessman who is 45 years old. My mother is a teacher who is 42 years old.
- My father is 45 years old and a businessman. My mother is 42 years old and a teacher.
- My father is a 45-year-old businessman. My mother is a 42-year-old teacher.
- My father is a 45-year-old businessman and my mother is a 42-year-old teacher.
