- The desert, formerly known as Portland Oregon. It is a desolate wasteland of nothing but dunes and debris. All is quiet, save for the wind's howl, and the trudging of a lone figure across the wasteland. His long hair waves in the hot desert breeze, his glasses cracked from many years of use. He wears a uniform of some sort; worn but serviceable. The desert patterns on it suit him well for the desert. He passes a large metal strut, sticking out of the sand, looking at it for only a moment.
- He is an Accused Rebel, or you could say he is a Jeopardized Extremist. The second is more accurate. This is John Egbert, humanity's last best hope. He wages subtle war against the Alternian regime; the one shining star for humans and lowbloods alike. Near seven years ago now they came. It was the worst birthday present he could have ever asked for, along with the death of his father. his destroyed house. He held his soot stained shirt in his hand, shaking it at the menace that threatened his planet anew. Little did he know that the very emblem he raised that day, would define him.
- He would lead them to victory, or to death. Anything was better than servitude at the hands of the highbloods. Inhumane and torturous. He held his flag high that day, shielding his eyes from the light. But one day it would outgrow its usage as a sun shield. It would be his symbol. He would lead them. And they would follow.
- They trusted him to the end of the earth, and he gave them his in return. Together they would do great things, or perish trying. They were the Black Slimers.
- While we were digging into some exposition, John began messaging one of his chums from his glasses as he trudged.

- GT: Status update?
- GG: He hasn't shown yet.
- GG: Equius I mean.
- GG: Is he really as bad as you say?
- GT: He'll destroy us if we let him.
- GT: We can't let him figure out where the alpha base is!
- GT: That's why you and Dave need to trap or kill his forces, and capture him.
- GG: I know the plan, jeez.
- GG: Everything goes off without a hitch pretty much all the time.
- GT: Because if we slip up once, we're done.
- GG: Fiiiine.

- GT: I'm going to honor them by being the best leader I can be!

- GG: I need to be alert. The Greenhounds haven't lost a fight yet!
- GT: Go to it!

- Walking through the sand, he sighed. It would be hours before he got to where he needed to be; the dunes seemed endless, yet he had walked them many times. He could only hope a patrol didn't spot him. He'd have to use his last resort.
