- Basically I think its better when as much gameplay as possible stems from a classes mechanics. Having a macro do the work reduces the impact of the decision to break off your current target, perhaps to the point where it becomes the clear choice, resulting in there being a clear cut answer and perhaps less "gameplay" for people to enjoy. Actually since you could macro a CC to their healer, then targetlasttarget it mitigates the time impact of target switching to the point where there is little to no drawback. Surely its important that switching target is a concious decision that one has to make? Especially in Warlords of Draenor where there will be less CCs to use. Id argue that since the removal of many CCs increases the relative power of those that remain its even more important that the act of CCing something requires a more concious effort.
- Im not sure if this this is even a comparison, but having a keybind to fire a missile at a specific person in a Star Citizen like game would be too powerful. Of course it takes more effort to switch targets in a dogfighting game but I think it illustrates the point in an exaggerated way.
- I think that having the winner of a match be decided on a UI choice that isnt a clear in game function (ie something core to your class) is to the detriment of competition at all but the highest levels.
- Of course people get frustrated by targeting so perhaps it would be better to improve targeting/give people more options in that regard. Perhaps you could cycle by range, who you are facing etc.
- Just some thoughts. I dont play a great deal of PvP (just some 3v3s and 2v2s when I stream) so my opinion probably isnt too worthwhile :P
