  1. It was a late rainy night out on the street. The city lights lighting up the dark.
  2. I stood underneath the small roof of a building.
  3. I wondered how long I'd be out here. It was cold, and I couldn't see Sunset. I looked up and down the street again and again.
  4. Nothing, I wondered how long I'd be out here. I kept waiting, it seemed like forever.
  5. Suddenly, in the distance, a person in a dark grey hoodie stumbled her way toward me.
  6.
  7. "It's about time you made it here, you had me worried."
  8. She didn't respond. She looked up at me with a dazed expression. A faint grin, her pupils were huge, giving a thousand yard stare into the nothingness. I snapped my fingers in front of her face.
  9. "Yoo hoo, earth to Sunset!"
  10. "Hehehe, do you got any alcohol Anon?"
  11. "I might need some after this. Come on, you're soaked, lets get you inside."
  12. "I-inside.. Ok hahahaha!" She was completely out of it, she clung on to my Jacket. She hung on to me as we made our way to my apartment building.
  13. About halfway there she went completely out of it passing out nearly falling to the ground. I ended up carrying her into my apartment.
  14. I laid her down on my couch.
  15.
  16. Hours Later
  17. "Ugh.. Where, am I? Is that.. Coffee?"
  18. "And chocolate.." I said handing the cup of coffee and bar of chocolate to her.
  19. "How, did I-"
  20. "You asked me to meet you after you met up with your guy."
  21. "Oh yeah.. I guess I di-"
  22. "You bitch, you had me so worried, you know you passed out before we made it back to the apartment, imagine what woulda happened if I hadn't been there."
  23. "But-"
  24. "No buts! This shit is ruining your life, and it's gonna stop." Sunset gave me a look of despair as she took a sip of the coffee.
  25. "I can't.. Besides, I'm.. I'm a grown woman, and I can do what I want!"
  26. "You're acting like a child."
  27. "Shut up dammit! Stop trying to control me, you can't tell me what to do!" Said Sunset throwing the cup and chocolate across the room.
  28. I held myself back from reacting, I was angry.. But I knew she wasn't herself.
  29. "I.. I'm leaving!" She shakily got up marching toward the exit. I blocked her way guarding the door.
  30. "W-what are you doing! Get out of the way move, move or else!"
  31. "Or else what? You'll call the cops, the way you look now? Wheres your phone Sunset, did you sell that too along with your leather jacket?"
  32. Sunset looked away from me, I started to feel like I was getting through to her.
  33. "Just, get out of the way, don't make this harder than it has to be!"
  34. "Make me." I said.
  35. "W-what did you say!?"
  36.
  37. "I said make me, come on." She charged at me, but it was futile. She was so weak I held her back with one hand.
  38. "Enough is enough Sunset." I pulled her in close, she struggled at first, but I bear hugged her into me. She pounded on my head and my shoulders for a bit before finally relenting. She stopped struggling clinging to my shirt and burying her face into it.
  39. "I.. I'm sorry.. I.. I don't know, what got into me." She said, the tears starting to come down. She let out a harsh cough that sounded hard on her throat.
  40. "Shhh, it's ok, I'm not angry alright? Lay back down on the couch, I've got more chocolate in the freezer and I'll get you another cup of coffee just the way you like it."
  41. "Ok." She sniffled returning defeated to the couch.
  42. I poured the coffee into another cup and grabbed another chocolate bar. I returned to her crying on the couch, her arms wrapped around her knees tears streaming down her face.
  43. "Sunset." I said placing the food on the table.
  44. "Anon, c-can, you hold me? I know, it sounds desperate but I-" I wrapped my arms around her.
  45. "Shh, it's alright now."
  46. "Anon.. I-" She broke down into full sobbing, crying into me. Her snot and tears soaking my shirt. I held her this way for a while. Her body felt really thin and frail, I could feel her body quaking a bit involuntarily.
  47.
  48. "You know, for the longest time, I felt like.. I never really belonged in this world. But, I never really felt like I belonged in Equestria either. I've.. I've always been alone. This is, the first time in a while that someone's gotten so involved in my life."
  49. "And I'll continue to be here, I promise. I'll always be here for you no matter what Sunny."
  50. "T-thats.. the first time you've called me that in a while."
  51. "Its the first time I've seen the real you in a while. Sunny, you gotta promise, promise me you'll try as hard as you can to quit."
  52. "I.. I will, but it really hurts when I don't.. I get dope sick, I, I feel like when I don't shoot up, my body just quits on me, and I can't do anything."
  53. "I know baby.. I know its gonna be hard.. But, I'm going to be with you here all the way. Right by your side. I'll do anything you need me to do so you never need to worry it."
  54. "I don't know if I'll be able to control myself, anon, what if I can't resist?"
  55. "I'll stop you, just like now, you could get past me before. You were strong before.. By the time you're strong enough to push me out of the way, you should be feeling much better. I'm doing this for your own good."
  56. "I.. I know, I guess I'm just, stubborn. But, right now, being with you like this. I'm, happy, happy with you like this. So, right now, you have my permission to stop me, to pin me and hold me down if needed so I don't go back. Because, I do want to get better.. And I trust you Anon."
  57. "I promise, I'll do everything I can to help you get better."
  58.
  59. Weeks and months went by, the recovery was hell, there were times when she became angry and unruly. Fighting against the will of her own body, and her own mind. Struggling to maintain herself. I helped her as much as I could, I cooked and cleaned for her. I kept her locked down most of the time. I always made sure that no matter what she was taken care of. It was a hassle and a chore, but it was worth it. Worth it for the times when the real Sunset would break through for a few moments. The one who was grateful for my efforts, the one who liked to be held and kissed, as she told me stories about her memories of life back in Equestria.
  60.
  61. She never relapsed fortunately, and Sunset and I were officially united as a couple. I bought her a new leather Jacket and helped her rebuild her life.
  62.
  63. End.
