  2. A: Only if the individual is retained by your organization to provide services for your Retail Location or event. Regardless, your organization is still obligated to ensure you are providing a safe and inclusive environment for players of all ages.

  4. Q: If a judge is unable to attend a judge-required event last-minute, would a replacement judge need to have his background checked that day?
  5. A: Yes, or the event needs to be cancelled.

  8. A: Keep a physical record of the outcome of the check.

  10. Q: What qualifies as a sufficient background check?
  11. A: Compliance with the WPN Terms is left to the discretion of the WPN Member. If you have questions regarding compliance, you should discuss the matter with your legal counsel.

  13. Q: Are regions where this type of background check is illegal exempt from the background check?
  14. A: Yes, but we expect you to do what you can to ensure your staff is in compliance with these requirements.

  17. A: Staff and those otherwise engaged by the organization that interact with the public for your Retail Location are included under the updated WPN Terms.

  19. Q: Does this apply to employees who interact with the public online (customer service, social media managers, etc.) who do not interact with the public in person?
  20. A: The representations, warranties and covenants apply to all Staff and those engaged by your organization that provide services to your Retail Location and Events; this includes individuals that directly interact with the public on behalf of our Retail Location and for your Events.

  22. Q: Who is considered Staff at an event? Does this apply to vendors, contractors, artists, etc.?
  23. A: The obligations contained within the WPN Terms applies all Staff and other individuals engaged by your organization to provide services for your Retail Location and for your Events. This requirement would extend to vendors or contractor facilitating the operations of your Retail Location and Events; artist and speakers would be at your discretion, but your organization is still obligated to ensure you are providing a safe and inclusive environment for players of all ages.

  25. Q: Does this apply to restaurant staff?
  26. A: This obligation does not apply to business separate from Retail Locations and Events.

  28. Q: What is the deadline to have background checks for my current employees?
  29. A: You must be compliant with these requirements at the time that you agree to the new Terms and Conditions. We will be releasing a means to agree to them using your Wizards account soon & the deadline to agree will be February 9, 2018.
