- 'Sup, doods!
- There was no world in which I was reasonably keeping up with Yoschi in that final match. When my low 8 minute time in game 4 was beaten, I knew that it was over and you could see it in my posture. Admittedly, my performance in that match did not ultimately matter to me as my priority was always going towards managing the show. I'm even paying my tournament winnings forward to the next Tetris Attack tournament. I may just pay all my winnings forward to future tournaments unless I win one of these things again. I did notice during the match that my software encoder was struggling to record the match. It may lead to some other things I need to fix in post.
- Speaking of fixing in post, I am now heading into an incredibly awkward in-between point where I have videos to pump out, videos to edit first, and forms to make ahead of next month's first qualifying tournament broadcast. Yeah, I'm hosting monthly tournaments, doods! I will keep myself a little more busy between major tournaments in the hopes that the community will stay more engaged throughout the year. This also means that my work on the tutorial series will have to be delayed further. I will see how fast I can power through it all as I and LPS go through some important transitions right now.
- To make sure I keep track of it all, I am writing down each and every little thing I need to do next in this update. I should be making this a daily practice, anyway, but habits are really hard to break. Wish me luck, doods.
- Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals (no longer in constant flux):
- Goal #1a: edit down the Stage Clear and Grand Finals matches from the tournament and post them.
- Goal #1b: create a feedback form for people to comment on the tournament.
- Goal #2: clip personal shorts from the last stream.
- Goal #3a: create a form for people to register for the monthly tournaments.
- Goal #3b: create Discord channels for the qualifying tournaments.
- Goal #3c: finalize the rules document for the future tournaments.
- Goal #3d: create a template for the leaderboards qualifying for each tournament.
- Goal #3e: create the leaderboard for the major championship standings.
- Goal #3f: compute everyone's precise tournament winnings and process payouts.
- Goal #4: clean up my hard drive because it almost filled up from the tournaments.
- Goal #5: finalize the tournament layout once and for all in a way that I can adapt for the Pokemon Puzzle League tournaments.
- Goal #6: script and record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. I have some scripts left to touch up before feeling comfortable with moving on to recording gameplay. Then I will need to record my talking points and edit it all together. Getting back to this will be easier once the workflow for the monthly tournaments is finalized.
- Goal #7: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process. Next objective is to make transitions and alerts.
- Goal #8: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts.
- This week's schedule:
- Friday @ 9pm-1am EST – Friday Night Salt Mines – The World Record Grind is Back On Edition, Doods!
- That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, be decent to each other. Later, doods!
