All right students, read well. I have gathered here a small archive of news footage from the early, hectic days of the Convergence, all the way to when the Equality Pact was signed. But as a fore-note, I think I'll share my experiences from when the populace was first made aware that something was happening. I was a youth of about seven, so my memory is a bit hazy. It's been quite awhile after all.
	It all started, for me at least, on a cold morning in March. The year was 2018, and everyone seemed to be worried about world events. Wish I could say more, but I was a simple child, not interested in such things. This was the day that the world changed.
	I heard a loud noise, and leapt from my bed, peering out the window of my room. Standing in front of my neighbors house, just outside his door, was a scintillating black gate. What I now know is that this was the fifth recorded Convergence Event. As the gate stabilized, my neighbor wandered up to it sleepily.
	He seemed entranced by it, staring intently. Then, he picked up a pine cone and tossed it the the gate. He took a step back as a small woman with feathers came through the gate. He went back inside for a few moments as others began to surround the now noticeably shrinking portal.
	Disregarding the warnings of the others he leapt through, carrying a large bag and the bird woman. Flightless harpy of some type. Sirens began to blare, both the police and disaster warning system. More gates were opening up throughout the city. As the police arrived it snapped shut.
	I'll never forget the way he looked at me through the window before jumping in. A strange look of satisfaction at this change to his life. What was the beginning of an adventure to him, was the herald of violent change to us. Some internet sub-cultures were ecstatic at the following events, while others were terrified of the implications.
	Monsters were leaking into our world, bringing with them all manner of oddities. Impossible machine constructed by Gremlins, and magic wielded by the undead. Sure everything has calmed down now, but there was upheaval for decades following the Convergence.
	Thank you for listening to my opening. The archives are attached for your viewing pleasure. Remember, this report is meant as a historical study. I will not accept hatred nor bias any of you may harbor. Our time is one of peace, but we must never forget the darkness that predated the light.

Archive File #1- First recorded case of Human vs Monster violence.

	The video attached to this file shows a figure rapidly looking around themselves with a blade drawn. The figure is cloaked with an identifiable tail. A reptilian of some sort. The figure proceeds to run in the direction of an National Guard station.
	The following is an article from a local paper.
"Last night, a woman claimed to be one of the monsters we've been hearing about rushed into the National Guard, shouting to all who would listen. Eyewitnesses state that she was seeking a one 'Strong enough to challenge' her. A few thought it was some strange joke until they noticed that the long sword she carried was quite real. After realizing that this was no mere human, and armed to boot, Private Decker drew his side-arm and ordered her to stand down and release the weapon. As she charged him, he discharged three shots into her abdomen. The assailant screamed in rage and drove the blade through Decker, and turned on the others who showed up to help. As of this printing, Decker and the woman are the only fatalities, but the three who took her down are still in the emergency room. Families refused to give out names."

Archive file #2- Public awareness rises.

	Attached is a simple video documenting the spike in portal activity as world governments cease denying information. Theories abound as to what these portals mean, but studies show that the Extra Dimensional Entities, or EDEs, are not inherently hostile. All seem to be fully cognizant beings. Saftey measures are explained, as well as a rundown on recorded types being explained.
	Unfortunately, EDE never stuck, and the public insisted on calling these people 'monsters,' regardless of the behavioral patterns presented.

Archive file #3- Creta makes her appearance.

	Two years following the first gates opening, humans have acclimated to the visitors from another world. Interbreeding statistics are on the rise, as is human on nonhuman violence. Factions have rallied for the internment of non-humans, while a vocal minority advocate coexistence.
	But in June, the largest portal ever measured opened its maw in the sky above Central Park, releasing a torrent of water that flooded Manhattan's sewer systems. Water isn't all that appeared, a massive beast fell to the earth, the gate snapping shut behind it.
	At first it was immobile, almost seeming like a small mountain. It remained dormant until the next morning, and as the sun rose it began to shudder, scaring off civilians that had gathered around. A military cordon was established around the park.
	The following video is the record of first contact with the being we now know as Creta.
	The camera is unsteady as the reporter in the helicopter speaks, shouting for her voice to be heard over the choppers blades, "The object is beginning to move! Oh my God it's... It is alive! And it's standing up!" What was believed to be a mound of inorganic material unfolds, standing in a bipedal fashion with soft flesh beneath. "Holy {expletive deleted} it's a woman!"
	Creta stands up and stretches, standing around 140 meters tall, and freezes up. Tanks level their barrels at her, and attack craft begin to circle. Moving slowly, she peers around, the camera zooming in on her scared face. The stony carapace shifts as she begins to inhale.
	"What is she doing?" The cameraman asks the anchor.
	She replies, "I don't kn-"
	She is interrupted by a low bass laden rumble that causes the helicopters windows to vibrate and crack the lens of the camera. The video feed cuts out.
	In the end, it was discovered that Creta was simply confused. After a tense few moments she calmed down and knelt down over one of the tanks and spoke very softly (still quite loud by our standards) to the gunner. After his initial fears, they struck up a conversation.
	She was sleeping one minute, and the next she woke up in our world. Creta was eventually moved to the ocean, where she lives today. Though now with service standards altered to accommodate non humans, she spends quite a bit of time with the Coast Guard rescuing those stranded at sea.

Archive file #4- The treaty is signed.

	The following are snippets of a documentary.
	"Fast forward twenty-five years. A prominent activist for monster rights is elected into office. Despite most women hating the competition over the last few decades, President Baker signs a bill granting full rights to the monstrous population, on the condition that they reign themselves in and avoid causing undue panic and scandals. She then reveals that Vice-President Morrens is a Lich, disguised as a human for years."
	"This is received with cheers and outrage in equal measure. Assassination attempts were made, but all were foiled by a variety of wards placed on her person."
	"Though she only runs a single term, the impact she made is still clear to this day. She currently resides with her husband and children in their Missouri estate."
