- Yellow pushed herself to her feet, staring at the whirling orb of light as it coalesced into a more defined being, pulling itself together from particles of light scattered across the universe in its wake. She knew its name, as naturally as she knew her own.
- “Love Shine A Light,” she said, and at the sound of her voice the stand responded, pulling itself together as it assumed its true form.
- Love Shine A Light bore a vague resemblance to what it had once been- floating pieces of wood and clusters of moss and mushrooms clung to the air about the stand’s main ‘body’ like the pieces of a chamber no longer able to contain the power held within. The stand’s body had changed entirely, however- the sunlight that had glowed in its eyes once before now made up its entire body, forming wispy strands of solid sunlight into arms, legs, and a glowing torso. Fireflies danced through its body, twisting and whirling in a pool of endless sunlight and forming a raw, pure core of light in the stand’s center, thrumming and thumping along with Yellow’s own heart.
- Yellow reached out to it, her fingertips hesitating at the edge of its being like a squirrel at the edge of a clearing. The air around it was warm like a spring day, wafting gently about its body in a soft, subtle breeze. Summoning her will, Yellow made contact, and the sudden burst of force from the stand tore apart the black sleeves of her shirt, revealing an interwoven network of tattoos that glowed with golden sunlight that mirrored the new hue of her eyes with perfect accuracy.
- "What does it do?" Letter asked quietly, as if afraid of disturbing it.
- Yellow's eyes didn't waver. "It can cure any toxin, disease, or affliction, with just a touch. It gave me back my legs. It can cure T of the corruption." Without warning her eyes moved, staring calmly past Letter's shoulder to where The Other stood humanoid and rooted in place, cowed into silence through sheer disbelief. "It can hurt you."
- **No,** came a voice almost too low to attribute to anyone, **You couldn’t have…**
- "This universe is full of pain and suffering, both of which you caused." Yellow's tone was flat, even, and utterly devoid of empathy. "I've never wanted to kill another being, and I still don't, but I've learned that this isn't a perfect world. Sometimes, to save a billion lives, someone has to die."
- Yellow watched The Other carefully, her expression utterly calm, finally regarding the universe-ending being as an equal. “I’ll give you one chance, and only one,” she said peacefully, extending a hand. “Surrender, and promise never to hurt anyone ever again. Give back absolutely everything you've taken. Do that, and I won't kill you.”
