  1. [09:17] * Loyal trots into her casino, the door opening up to her penthouse at the top, which as before still has everything imagineable, including the sweeping open windows, bar, hottub, etc.
  2. [09:22] * Doc is on Loyal's back, pencil and paper clutched in her hooves.
  3. [09:23] * Loyal trots over to her bed and sets Doc down on it, Loyal still wears the same look on her face.
  4. [09:25] * Doc looks up at Loyal before writing on her paper. <What's wrong?>
  5. [09:25] * Loyal motions over Doc. "Seein' you this way swinger... it tain't easy." she trots away toward the bar.
  6. [09:27] * Doc watches after her. <I know. But hey, I'm not dead, so that's a plus.>
  7. [09:28] * Loyal looks back and reads. "Sure, but ti doesn't make et' any less shitty for me swinger..." she trails off.
  8. [09:32] * Doc frowns, well, kind of. <Come over here and tell me what's wrong.>
  9. [09:33] * Loyal sets her rifle into a rather impressive looking gun rack and sets her hat on a stand. She looks back again. "Ahm' scared Doc. Really daum' scared. It's not ah' normal thing fer' me to be feeling."
  10. [09:40] * Doc nods. <I was scared too. When those raiders came sweeping through camp, I panicked. There were so many, and they came so fast. They were at my tent in a matter of seonds, six of them against me. I didn't think I'd ever see you again.>
  11. [09:40] * Loyal sits at the bar, looking away. She didn't see what was wrote, she is clearly shaking.
  12. [09:42] * Doc slides off the bed and slowly makes her way over to where Loyal was sitting, concern evident on her face. She wraps a hoof around the other mare, burying her muzzle into her coat.
  13. [09:43] <~Loyal> "An' now... now all I can think about is seein' you all shattered n' broken... I can't get it outta' my mind." she is crying as well.
  14. [09:43] * Loyal doesn't seem to notice Doc is there.
  15. [09:45] * Doc wraps Loyal up in a hug, something akin to a purr coming from her muzzle.
  16. [09:45] * Loyal can't bring herself to look at Doc.
  17. [09:55] * Doc nuzzles Loyal. <Sure, I'll have a few scars, but if you truly care for me, does it really matter? Don't think of me as anything but who I am, a pony who saves others.>
  18. [09:56] * Loyal looks at Doc now. "It has nothing to do with looks swinger, it has to do with my heart breaking at you broken." her eyes wet with tears. "And ahm' scared it will happen. And it will break meh'."
  19. [09:59] * Doc pulls Loyal closer. <I can always stay here with you, set up shop somewhere on the Strip. The place I do my work at doesn't matter to me.>
  20. [10:00] * Loyal shudders looking at it. "It's just... I dump thousands of caps out every month to medical n' relief aid, it just... gets me seein' doctors torn up helpin' others."
  21. [10:05] * Doc looks up at Loyal. <But that's my job. If I lose my life saving another's, then I've done my duty.> Her eye is glossy with tears, staring up at Loyal.
  22. [10:06] * Loyal shakes her head. "And then I've lost you, where does that leave me?" she shakes herself loose and makes for the door.
  23. [10:08] * Doc blinks, unable to hold the tears back for any longer. She gives a muffled cry that sounded like "Wait!" and slipped off her seat, limp-running after Loyal.
  24. [10:10] * Loyal looks back at Doc. "You should rest swinger."
  25. [10:10] <Doc> <Not until I know you're ok. That's my job remember?>
  26. [10:11] * Loyal blinks. "Do ah' look ok at all? Please... just rest. Don't worry about me." she turns and starts trotting again towards the elevator.
  27. [10:14] * Doc stands in the center of the room, watching Loyal go. She stands there for a good 5 minutes, before finally limping over to the bed, curling up and crying herself to sleep.
  28. [10:24] <~Loyal> About three hours later Loyal is back in her penthouse, however she is out on the balcony, sitting in a chair overlooking the city. Doc won't be able to notice she is there unless she looks there purposefully.
  29. [10:29] * Doc wakes up. She looks around the room, her ears drooping when she didn't spot Loyal anywhere. She slowly gets out of Loyal's bed, limping towards the door that lead out onto the balcony. She paused when she saw Loyal sitting out there, before coming out, dropping her fedora on Loyal's head before taking a seat next to her.
  30. [10:30] * Loyal seems to engrossed in her own thoughts to notice Doc had joined her.
  31. [10:33] * Doc sits quietly next to her, letting her think. She was thinking too.
  32. [10:34] * Loyal blinks and notices a fedora on her head that was not her own. She turns to Doc, staring at her eyes.
  33. [10:39] * Doc looks back at Loyal. Her eyes are a lovely deep shade of brown. She holds out a picture to Loyal, which showed what appeared to be Doc's parents, both pegasi, standing on either side of a much younger Doc, who's face was half-covered by the fedora Loyal was currently wearing.
  34. [10:40] * Loyal looks at the photo but says nothing to Doc, she is unable to formulate sentences at the present moment.
  35. [10:40] <Doc> There is a note on the back of the picture that reads: Dearest Dawn, we hope you like your birthday present sweetie. Love, Ma and Pa. Doc picks up her paper and pencil and starts to write.
  36. [10:41] * Loyal sits silently before turning and looking out over the city again.
  37. [10:45] <Doc> <That picture was taken on my 11th birthday. Both my parents were killed the next day by an Enclave ambush. I know what it's like to lose ponies you love, and I don't want you to have to go through that. I care about you, and seeing you like this, it's too much.>
