  11. The main corridor of the guild ends to the west as it opens up into a spacious room, and leads eastward to the main entrance of the building. A pair of large swinging doors lead north, probably to the guild hospital since several old trails of blood lead past them. To the south is the insurance office, easily identifiable by the newer trails of blood leading out from it. Large paintings of judicial scenes line the walls, stolen by the guild before it took over the building, at which time they were returned to their original locations.

  23. In the centre of the old guild building, this corridor conveys a sense of the weight of the guild upon it. The corridor itself is wide and clean, with tasteful portraits of past guild officials parading decorously down the north and south walls. A deep mahogany door stands in the wall to the south.

  33. This wide corridor leads deeper into the guild to the west, and abruptly opens up into the entrance hall to the east. A tattered curtain covers the entrance into the most prestigious of rooms to the north, the voting room. A padded light green door to the south could only be the entrance to the receipts room, the area of the guild most often visited by non-thieves.

  45. A magnificent dome covers the spacious entrance to the Thieves' Guild, supported by solid walls of veined marble. The dome itself contains several stained glass depictions of the most memorable events of thievery, all overshadowed by the image of Mazda stealing fire from the gods. A large statue of Mazda is centered under the dome, holding aloft the fabled Undying Flame to represent the rewards of his skill. A broad stairway sweeps majestically up along the north wall, leading westward and upward, mirrored on the south wall by an identical stairway. A wide corridor leads to the west, while the entrance hall stretches out to the north and south.

  54. Shallow stone steps approach the entrance of the Thieves' Guild to the west, where an iron portcullis is raised above the impressive double doors. Ornate pillars support the roof above this portico, trying to look Tsortean yet subtly failing. The guild gardens can be seen to the northwest and southwest, though some intimidating hedges block the way. The chaos of the city seems almost surreal in this island of stately calm, even though the din of the Street of Alchemists presses heavily from the east.
  55. It is a very cold secundus spring's night with almost no wind, packed cloud cover and steady snow.

  76. The north end of Peasant Parade abuts a wall of the Thieves' Guild, which can be reached by going north along the Street of Alchemists. Peasant Parade lies mainly to the south and west and is a large busy open area outside the front wall of the Patrician's Palace. It is an area that the Patrician uses to look out over the citizens of Ankh-Morpork and think "Gods, the peasants are revolting".

  90. Lower Broadway enters Peasant Parade from the northwest here. The parade is a large busy open area outside the front wall of the Patrician's Palace. The Patrician uses the area to assemble crowds of his "loyal" subjects in, to give speeches to from a balcony of the palace. This of course explains why the crowds move through the area very, very fast. Going northwest leads to the Brass Bridge and the better side of town, while to the south and east is the rather large wall surrounding the palace.

  115. The southwest corner of Peasant Parade is surrounded by walls of the two areas of Ankh-Morpork that the citizens fear the most, the Assassins' Guild and the Patrician's Palace. Fortunately the walls are strong and sturdy, though whether they are designed to keep people in or out is anyone's guess. There are a few pieces of charcoal lying on the ground, and the palace guards seem to keep a special eye on this area for some reason. Widdershins Broadway leads between the walls southeast, providing an escape if the Patrician suddenly comes out onto a balcony of the palace to give a speech. For those brave enough to loiter in this area, the parade stretches out to the northeast.

1431. The land is lit up by the eerie light of the last quarter moon.
1432. This is Cabbage Street, where it crosses Rimwards Road. There is nothing particularly special about this part of the street. Something worthy of mention though, might be the many people walking in various businesses towards King's Road. Maybe you should follow their example and move along too?
1433. It is a freezing cold secundus spring's night with almost no wind and medium cloud cover.
1434. There are four obvious exits: northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest.

1457. The land is lit up by the eerie light of the last quarter moon.
1458. There is something fishy around here. Yes, it's a temple of Fish, the rather obviously-named god of sea creatures. The temple is on the east side of the road and has rather a strange shape. If one were to look at it on a foggy night, with one eye closed and the other eye half closed and with the head turned to one side, it would look something like an old boot fished (hah) out of the sea after several years' good service as a homeless centre for octopuses and small crabs. Those designers are funny guys. Rimwards Road crosses Cabbage Street to the southwest, while Blueberry Lane ambles off to the southeast.
1459. It is a freezing cold secundus spring's night with almost no wind and medium cloud cover.

1475. The land is lit up by the eerie light of the last quarter moon.
1476. This segment of Rimwards Road seems very proud of itself, certainly more so than it should be considering there isn't much here to look at. It simply drips with irreverence for everything a dignified road should be as it fills its measure of distance between the intersection to the north and more of Rimwards Road to the south. On the east side of the street is the brick wall of a building on King's Road.

1491. The land is lit up by the eerie light of the last quarter moon.
1492. Here King's Road meets Rimwards Road. King's Road is the larger of the two, and well-lit by streetlamps. Rimwards Road, however, is fairly well-sized and lit by the windows of businesses and houses lining the sides of the street. King's Road leads east to the Royal Market and the centre of Sto Lat, and Rimwards Road leads north and south.

1502. The land is lit up by the eerie light of the last quarter moon.
1503. King's Road is a wide street linking the two busiest areas of the city, the Rimwards Gate and the Royal Market. In addition to this, it houses most of the city's bureaucracy and official buildings, making it the main road of Sto Lat. To the north lies a door into one of these buildings, with a sign hanging over it. King's Road is lit by the street lamps set down the middle, and a small stream of traffic still travels east and west, despite the time.
1504. It is a freezing cold secundus spring's night with almost no wind and medium cloud cover.

1510. The land is lit up by the eerie light of the last quarter moon.
1511. King's Road goes east and west, lined with lights to help the ever-present people and carriages to find their way. A large, well-lit building to the south fits with the general look of the street as a wealthy government district. East of here lies the Royal Market, and the Rimwards Gate is to the west.

1515. The ground suddenly opens up in front of your feet and a bunch of manically grinning dwarfs pop out and start bouncing around in front of you.
1516. With a huge smile one of the grinning dwarfs whispers in your ear: Here, take this book - it'll tell you everything you need to know. But don't mention it to Death. Ok?

1520. The land is lit up by the eerie light of the last quarter moon.
1521. The large lane called King's Road leads off east and west here. Traffic in the evening is relatively light, with citizens and out-of-towners intent on reaching the Royal Market or the Rimwards Gate. This area is fairly well-lit for this time of night and still a bit busy, as befitting one of the major thoroughfares of the city.
1522. It is a freezing cold secundus spring's night with almost no wind and medium cloud cover.

1530. The land is lit up by the eerie light of the last quarter moon.
1531. This is King's Road, a wide street lined with official buildings and paved with bricks. All in all, it appears to be the centre of the city, both geographically and otherwise. To the south lies an official-looking building, with imposing marble architecture and a large brass door, reflecting the light of the streetlamps thoughtfully placed along King's Road by the city. The road goes east and west.

1539. Aside from the palace containing the royal family, King's Road is the centre of the government of Sto Lat. All of the important government buildings are here, and probably as a consequence all of the rich and important businesses are here as well. A large, extravagant house is to the south.
1540. A large sign and a small sign are outside the house.
