  1. Metalhead Stereotypes:-
  2.
  3. Currently, Metal is probably one of the most popular genre of music that's trending among our youth. Actually, no it's not. If there was survey, I'm pretty sure Yo Yo Honey Singh and Hridoy Khan would come out on top, given the number of kamlas around us. But Metal is certainly the music genre that stands out the most. People wear metal themed T-shirts, badges, wristbands and whatnot to let the world know that they are proud metalheads. And the fan community is getting larger day by day. Being a metal fan myself, I am quite familiar with the people you will get to meet in the metal community. And there are quite a few stereotypes out there, and I have listed them down so you get the idea,
  4.
  5. 1. The Mainstream fans
  6.
  7. He's your average metal fan, mainly listening to mainstream songs of mainstream bands. This type of guys rarely listen to any bands other than Metallica and Iron Maiden. Sometimes, they'll also give a listen to 1 or 2 LoG/Slipknot songs just for the sake of saying "I listen to LoG and Slipknot". They're also the people who are the most vocal about their choice in music. When you first meet someone of this category, he'll make sure you know that he's a metalhead.
  8.
  9. 2. The Overly Excited Psycho
  10.
  11. This guys lives metal, breathes metal, eats metal, shits metal. He is such a hardcore fan that he's willing to sacrifice several GBs of space in his porn folder to make room for metal. He never misses any underground concert, even if he has to save money by starving himself. You'll see this guy standing in the front, in any metal concert. He's shaking his head, storing up energy as the band tunes their guitars. And then, when the music starts he goes ape and unleashes a fury of the most brutal headbanging you will ever see in your life. Doesn't matter if it's an alternative rock song or a melodic part, he WILL headbang. And when the killer riffs come on, he just loses his shit and turns into a super saiyan. He jumps up on stage, punches the fucking bassist, hurls the bass across and bangs his head on the drums. Okay, that was immensely exaggerated but you get the point.
  12.
  13. 3. The Satanist
  14.
  15. Metals fans often get accused of being "satanic" due to the nature of their music of choice and appearance of some of the bands. Then there's this guy who himself claims that he's a satanist. (even though he's too afraid of the dark to perform any satanic ritual). He listens to only the dark and gore themed metal, e.g. Death Metal, Black Metal, Goregrind etc. According to him, every non-extreme metal music is pussy music. He'll be frequently updating statuses such as "listening to Behemoth" and upload pictures with various satanic poses to show you just how fucking brutal he is.
  16.
  17. 4. The Trivia Nerd
  18.
  19. Then there's a type of guy who spends way more time researching about metal on the internet rather than actually listening it. He will look up and memorise all the 666 sub-genres of metal, the history of metal, the names of every band member in every well known metal band and whatnot. He will bombard you with his vast knowledge whenever he gets the chance and is seen attempting to impress girls by saying the name of 69 metal sub-genres in alphabetical order.
  20.
  21. 5. The Metal Chick
  22.
  23. The first reaction any metal fan will have towards her is "OMG A GIRL!" and that's exactly what she's going for. The "Metal Chick" gives a listen to 1 or 2 songs, turns into a mainstream fan discussed previously, announces it to everyone and boom! She's now 10x more attractive and obtains an army of horny boys at her disposal. Her love for metal is proclaimed via uploading selfies with "\m/" as caption and "listening to Metallica \m/ <3 " statuses. Female metalheads do exist but 9 out of 10 times, she's just a metal chick.
  24.
  25. 6. The Poser
  26.
  27. This guy claims he listens to metal to become "cool" and has no idea about the music. He'll say that's a metal fan and then proceed to tell you how metal his favorite band Linkin Park is. You will be baffled by the sheer number of metal themed wristbands and badges he owns. I've had the privilege to meet a guy who's favorite heavy metal bands are Justin Bieber and Eminem.
  28.
  29. 7. The Good Guys
  30.
  31. And finally, there's the good guys. They are genuine fans, never uses metal as an excuse to act cool and are just enjoyable people to headbang with. There are actually a lot of good guys out there, they just don't stand out that much. They are well aware that Metal is just another form of music and prefer to simple enjoy it.
  32.
  33. P.S. I am a Trivia Nerd.
